Select/Move Multiple Tabs in the Tabs Window
I don't think I'm asking for anything spectacular. I agree the Tabs interface isn't the best but, one thing that would make it much more tolerable would be, what I think, would be a simple change. Can we shift or ctrl click multiple tabs in the same section to slide all of them together please? Having to re-adjust all tabs on a line just because #1 or #2 need to shift to the right seems like a crazy oversight in functionality. Not to mention a time consuming and frustrating one. Please add this little thing to the next update and…

Live Preflight reporting a false error with OpenType Type 1 fonts
InDesign's Live Preflight will wrongly flag an OpenType Type 1 (PostScript flavored) font as invalid when the font appears in a linked graphic.
To recreate:
1. Create an InDesign Preflight Profile
2. Set it to flag Type 1 fonts as Font Type Not allowed.
3. Create a new InDesign document.
4. Add text using an OpenType Type 1 font.
5. Turn on the preflight.
The preflight will not signal an error. This is expected and correct.
6. Now export a PDF of the document created.
7. Create a new InDesign document.
8. Place the PDF as a linked graphic into…43 votesThank you for reporting the issue to us.

Change Form Fields Default Font
The ability to choose the default font for form fields would be extremely useful. Currently, we have to modify each form field to replace the default 'Minion Pro'. This is exceedingly repetitive and time consuming.

Always open a image file on Photoshop
The request is pretty clear in the title. How nice it would be to double-click, with option button hold down, over an image and open it in Photoshop instead of Preview even if the default image application is set to preview.

More text formatting controls needed in Buttons & Forms Text Field)
Why are there so few controls for text formatting within the PDF Options panel of the Buttons and Forms panel (e.g. centering text within a Text Field, leading, kerning, Vertical and Horizontal Scaling etc.) than are available in the main InDesign application? Importance: the lack of text control when creating interactive pdf forms in the Buttons and Forms panel means that when text is added to a text fields, the result is a very unprofessional looking result when users type responses into the form.

I need a way to relink images across all open documents.
When I go to relink an image that is now in a different folder, and that image is inside of 7 different files, I'd like to be able to tell one file where the image is, and the other ones can also use that same image, with some kind of toggle to disable that if for some reason I didn't want all the images to use it.

The possibility to add a shortcut to "None" under Text format
It would be so beneficial to be able to remove any text formatting via shortcut, when all the others text formats are accessible via shortcuts already.
Use these shortcuts all the time, but every time I need to remove a format, I have to avert from the usual workflow.

Moving the IDLK temp file
It would be nice to have an option in Preferences to be able to move the temporary IDLK file which is automatically created at the same level as the edited file. Kind of like Photoshop.
Because if the edited file is located in a DropBox or GoogleDrive (or other) folder, Dropbox or GoogleDrive spend their time updating this file, which is very detrimental in terms of bandwidth and processor occupancy.Thank you

Increase the density of Previous and Next Page arrows on eBook documents published online
Is there a way to increase the density of the shadow under the arrow for the Previous/Next Page arrows used in the eReader for documents published online? Whenever someone with a 4:3 scale monitor views a document and the document's page color is white, the arrows are hard to see.

Share for Review with Slug Area
I use slugs with my layouts and clients reference the information there, as well as vetting production elements like crops and color swatches. I would like the option to Share for Review with crop and slug area included.

Rotate pages feature neccesary for Share for Review
My file for printing has to be horizontal (it opens up, its a calendar), so I rotate the view 90 degrees for working. When I share for review, my coworkers see the file horizontal and cannot rotate the pages on the Acrobat preview, also I cannot rotate or do something so they can view it differently, so our calendar is being reviewed with lots of neck straing.
Please do something!

Auto recognize type on path with overset text
When using 'type on path' with multiple paths and you have overset text on one path. When clicking on the red plus so you copied the overset text to past it on the next path but it's not possible because InDesign doesn't automatically apply/recognize 'type on path' like in Illustrator.
Attached an screenshot what I mean.

Include original INDD filename in metadata on PDF export
Include original INDD filename in metadata on PDF export.
I often get PDFs from clients, usually well after a job has been completed, where they want to update it, or base a new document on the PDF. Some clients, no matter how many times you tell them not to, change the name of the PDF file, making it a little more difficult to find the source file. Or a new client will send me a PDF that I did not create... then I have to ask for the source file, and of course you get "deer in the headlights eyes".…

Allow for setting or synchronizing book-wide footnote/endnote options
Right now footnote/endnote options are set on the document level. There should be an option so that the options can either be set on the book level or can be part of the style source sychronization set.
As it is, if I don't create a template that already has my preferred footnote/endnote settings set, I have to individually make those settings for each chapter in a book.

Baseline Options for Character Styles: vertical alignment to top, base, etc.
Text Frames have Baseline Options where you can set the First Baseline.
Please implement something similar for character styles, to vertically align characters within a line, based on Cap Height, Ascent, Baseline, etc. – similar to CSS.

Script or function to export InDesign files to Photoshop while retaining layers for Windows devices.
I've been using the Adobe Suite for years for both photo and video editing. Recently I started using InDesign and found out that the only script available that lets you open an InDesign file in Photoshop with everything on separate layers is for Apple devices only.
Can we get a solution to this? I know I'm not alone here. Willing to beta test and do whatever else would be needed to help expedite this.

Show Character Style applied by GREP
When a Character Style is applied automatically via GREP, selecting text does not reveal which Character Style was applied.
Would be nice if it does, for reference purposes.1 vote -

Add full text markup options to document review (online version)
When sending a document for review through CC online, my reviewers have very limited edit/markup options (add comment, draw, add pin). Can you add all the text markup options available in the "Comment" tool of the desktop version of Acrobat Pro? For example, insert text, add note to replace text, strikethrough, callout boxes, etc. This is valuable to me because it is much easier to read/understand the edits if they're clear text edits, not just comments in a box. Thank you!
