Thank you all for the votes.
Can you help us understand the key problems that you face in the absence of ability to send an anchored image backwards?
What’s the current workaround that you have to follow?
What are the use cases wherein you need that the text appears specifically on top of inline anchored image?
This information will help us evaluate the functionality better.

you can do this illustrator. But you will find it's a ******* mess, depending on how that pdf was created.

The fix for this issue is now available in the latest update (14.0.2) of InDesign 2019.
If you are unable to see the update notification, open the menu (three dots) from the top-right of Creative Cloud desktop application and click on ‘Check For App Updates’.
Once the update button is shown against InDesign, click on the button to update to Id 14.0.2.If you face any problems with the new update, do let us know in the comments.

YES PLEASE! But let us customise what shows ups.
I'd love to have the alignment/pathfinder buttons.
But the options that show up should be contextual,
So if I'm editing text, then it could be options for font, colour, # of col, drop cap, particular char par style,
and if I have objects selected, obj style, colour, alignment, pathfinder, etc.Pu supported this idea ·

There's an option under General preferences.
Object editing - Prevent selection of locked objects. If you have it unticked, you will be able to select locked objects.
Happens to me too.
this needs to be fixed ASAP.
