Adobe InDesign TeamAn error occurred while saving the comment Alexandre Lourdel commentedSeveral years after reporting this HUGE bug, posting screencaptures, sending reports to you at your mailbox (with no answer, by the way), it is indeed still present in the latest 2022 version. I have to deal with it every day. What's the use of reporting a bug if you don't do anything to solve it ? If Adobe doesn't want to resolve it, please tell us, there are other softwares around here that look very interesting to us professionals (Affinity Publisher…) and much cheaper. Adobe if following the same path than Quark 15 years ago.
An error occurred while saving the comment Alexandre Lourdel commentedI've just sent you the files you asked for.
An error occurred while saving the comment Alexandre Lourdel commentedStill present in the latest version (15.1.2). Please see attached video. Adobe, what are you doing ?
An error occurred while saving the comment Alexandre Lourdel commentedThe bug is still present in the latest version (15.1.1). This kind of bug is absolutely unacceptable. As Filip Blazek said, Adobe, could you please start fixing VERY OLD BUGS instead of adding half baked new features? I don't care about buggy new features if the old ones don't work properly. InDesign is turning into a bag of unsolved bugs and this error notification forum is becoming more and more irrelevant…
An error occurred while saving the comment Alexandre Lourdel commentedThe bug is still present in the latest version (15.0.2). Please solve this ASAP because it is really annoying. Most of the time this bug could induce errors in the final layout. As a consequence, I have to double attention on the editing process to avoid dramatic consequences which slows the productivity down. As a result, the confidence in the reliability of InDesign is seriously damaged.
An error occurred while saving the comment Alexandre Lourdel commentedIt happens too often, almost every time I'm working on a textbook layout. As a clue, I can tell I'm working a lot with imported Word documents as, I suppose, most of us. Please solve this really annoying bug unworthy of a professionnal design and layout editor. Contact me if you want some details.
An error occurred while saving the comment Alexandre Lourdel commentedAgain, this is a really dangerous bug because it could let you think the layout is allright whereas it is not. I'm loosing confidence in working with InDesign because of the proliferation of these kind of dangerous bugs lately. Look at the video attached to make yourself an idea of what I'm talking to. The preview is absolutely WRONG !
Please solve this sooner than later...An error occurred while saving the comment Alexandre Lourdel commentedIt happens to me too from time to time. This is a dangerous bug as it could make the user believe that his document is layed out in a wrong way. I lost time several times trying to edit pages that were not as they were displayed. From a professional program, that is really not serious because this is a huge bug.

Adobe InDesign teamAn error occurred while saving the comment Alexandre Lourdel commentedThis bug seems to be related to the cursor size which can be changed in the Accessibility > Display > Cursor control panel. After having changed the cursor size, the external display didn't loose the connection with the Macbook so the screen stopped turning black every now and then. The price for this solution is that, from now on, the cursor disappears in InDesign each time I point on the vertex of a text-box.
Conclusion: Despite what the quality engineer said, the fact that, ONLY IN INDESIGN, a size-modified cursor solved the flickering bug but made the cursor disappear when placed on a textbox vertex tells me that this is an InDesign bug, not an Apple bug.
So, Adobe, please, do your homework and solve this bug once for all. Regards.
An error occurred while saving the comment Alexandre Lourdel commentedNope, this bug hasn't been solved on Catalina on my Macbook Pro 2015 equipped with an Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB. It happens almost everytime I resize a textbox on an external display while the Macbook's screen is up. When the Macbook's screen is closed, this bug does not happen. Please do something to solve this bug. Regards.
An error occurred while saving the comment Alexandre Lourdel commentedThis bug has not been solved with the last Mojave update.
InDesign 14.0.2
Mojave 10.14.6Please do something !
An error occurred while saving the comment Alexandre Lourdel commentedI have the same issue using an external 4k screen (60 Hz) connected on my MacBook Pro 2015. Strangely I tried to reproduce this issue in Illustrator and everything worked fine in this application. So, are you sure the bug comes from Apple's side ?
If connected by Thunderbolt/MiniDisplay port (60 Hz), the screen will loose the sync with the Macbook during 1-2 sec while moving a simple rectangle or ellipse in InDesign.
If connected by HDMI (30 Hz), while doing the same test, the picture will suffer a brief distortion but will not turn black.
VERY IMPORTANT : When I close the Macbook, the problem disappears. When I open it again, it appears again.

An error occurred while saving the comment Alexandre Lourdel commentedHere is the buggy InDesign file.
PS: Your server doesn't respond and didn't accept my bug report file. How can I report a bug in those conditions ? This is discouraging.

The fix for this issue is now available in the latest update of InDesign – version 16.1
Please update to this version to get the fix. To prevent problem on existing documents and see the footnotes again, you will have to force recompose the stories.
To force recompose stories, you can use the shortcut Command-Option-/ (slash) on Mac or Ctrl-Alt-slash on Windows-InDesign Team
An error occurred while saving the comment Alexandre Lourdel commentedI had to face again this bug today using the latest version. One footnote had disappeared. Please solve this ASAP.

An error occurred while saving the comment Alexandre Lourdel commentedSame bug here on InDesign 14.0.3, MacOS Mojave 10.14.6.
You can see it on the attached pictures. It happens strangely only on the first page which contains the paragraph style used as a reference to update the running head text. On the following pages, the double-space is not inserted. (!)
I can send you the file where the bug happens if you ask me to.

Hi,
This issue has been fixed in latest InDesign versions. Please let us know in comments in case you still encounter the bug-InDesign Team
An error occurred while saving the comment Alexandre Lourdel commentedSame situation here with InDesign 2019 last version on Mojave 10.14.6. Please look at the demonstration on the video attached. And please solve these tab bugs. I've lost half an hour trying to understand what I was doing wrong before understanding it was a bug. The tab dots line disappears following the 1st line spacing value as you can see on the video.

An error occurred while saving the comment Alexandre Lourdel commentedOn my iMac 5K (2015), the 10.14.6 Mojave update seem to have solved this problem. Can anybody confirm this too ?
An error occurred while saving the comment Alexandre Lourdel commentedI have the same issue when using Photoshop with graphics card acceleration parameter set to «advanced». This simultaneous use of various Adobe applications provokes problems with the graphic card (mine is a R9 380m with 2GB). Please solve this !!!!

If you are unable to see the update notification yet, open the menu (three dots) from the top-right of Creative Cloud desktop application and click on ‘Check For App Updates’.

https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/fixed-issues.htmlAn error occurred while saving the comment Alexandre Lourdel commentedSorry to insist : this is a nightmare. The fontmenu still collapses by itself, without clicking anywhere else. On top of that, it skips some fonts in the menu so that selecting some fonts is a real pain in the butt. Please go back to previous system of selecting fonts. The new system doesn't work well and is really really annoying.
An error occurred while saving the comment Alexandre Lourdel commentedDespite what the quality Engineer said, the last update 14.0.2 didn't solve this problem. This is very annoying. Please, Mr. Quality Engineer, make yourself definitely sure that a problem is REALLY solved before stating that it is.

I'm using the last InDesign 17.0.1 on the last Big Sur. This bug is worse than ever and nothing seems to have been made to solve it. On the contrary, I've never seen so many useless CEPHtmlEngine processes opened at the same time without doing nothing more than using memory. Please see the picture attached. This is getting worse and worse. Please solve this once for all. This is getting really obscene and insulting for us.
