An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment Alexandre Lourdel commentedThe same happens here on a Mini M1 with Apple Studio Display : after waking up, InDesign doesn't display nothing except a grey screen. This bug seems to be related to the management of the screen parameters of the Apple Studio Display because the same bug occurs after changing the screen ICC profile in the Screen Control Panel of MacOS.

As part of the investigation into the cause of this issue, we personally reached out to many of you over email. We have so far heard from only some of you.
Of the responses we have received, the conclusion we’ve come to is:
This issue was intermittent, happened once during the course of work but somehow got resolved and has not happened again. This issue can’t be reproduced now.Over a period of time, this thread has not thrown any fresh clues on why this issue seems to occur randomly for some and then seems to resolve itself. So we’re closing this thread.
However, even though we’re closing this thread, if you again run into this issue any time on a consistent basis, please report it here on UserVoice (in a new thread) with supporting assets like:
A) a test file,
B) detailed steps to replicate the issue

An error occurred while saving the comment Alexandre Lourdel commentedAfter waking up the computer, it happens almost every time on my Apple Studio Display connected to my Mac mini M1.
An error occurred while saving the comment Alexandre Lourdel commentedI face almost the same bug on InDesign v19 on Sonoma after changing the display profile of an Apple Studio Display while running InDesign, the inner part of the document window becomes gray or pink or green and nothing else appears, the document is no longer visible.

An error occurred while saving the comment Alexandre Lourdel commentedSame here. This bug is present for several years and nobody from Adobe's team seems to care about it. Still this is a huge bug because it reveals some major negligence in the programming of the Split View functionality.

We have released InDesign CC2019.0.2 with lot of bug fixes. If you are not on 14.0.2.324 then I would recommend you to upgrade to latest version as it is more robust.
If you still face this issue even after updating, please provide more information to santalwa@adobe.com –
• Reproducible Steps – What were you doing when you encountered the issue in InDesign?
• Error snapshot or video recording of the issue?
• Is(Are) the issue related to a specific document(s)/asset(s)? If Yes, Can you please provide the document(s)/asset(s)?Adobe InDesign Team
An error occurred while saving the comment Alexandre Lourdel commentedThere are still many bugs left in the split window mode. For instance, InDesign crashes a lot copy-pasting between the two sides of the split window view. Beside this, InDesign has some difficulties remembering the page number displayed in the page number area below each one of the two sides of the window of the same document. Really annoying. This affects the last version (19.0.1) but this is a bug running for several years.

An error occurred while saving the comment Alexandre Lourdel commentedIt happens a lot while copy-pasting between the 2 sides of a splitted window. I mean: the gestion of splitted windows is very buggy (when you ask for a 2d window of the same document viewed side by side).

There are many internal as well as external factors that can cause the InDesign application to crash/freeze/hang.
A few workarounds are listed at https://helpx.adobe.com/in/indesign/kb/crash-on-launch.html.
We would recommend you to upgrade to latest version as it is more robust.
If you still face this issue even after updating, please submit the crash report to us. (Guidelines to submit crash are available at https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)

Hello All,
Thank you for your patience all this while.
We had launched our investigation into the matter to get to the root cause of the problem. As the part of our investigation, we had reached out to many of you personally over email.
We have concluded our investigation and have come up with few findings.1. For many of the users the issue got fixed after updating InDesign to a newer version.
2. For some, the issue got resolved after disabling a third-party application such as Suitecase fusion etc.
3. For few, the issue was intermittent and is no longer reproducible.
4. For majority of the users, the underlying cause of the performance issue was identified to be related to span columns, cross-references, third party plugin etc.We have created separated threads for these issues and we are now working towards resolving them.
However, over the time this thread…

Customer comments
- InDesign lags when rearranging text boxes, adding image frames, adjusting frames that already exist
- Selecting an item (e.g. text frame) in small and really uncomplicated documents has slight but very noticeable delays/lags, almost as if the click hangs and makes the item drag a little instead of just being selected.
- Performance degradation is observed if more than 1 document is opened
- Creating packages (File > Package) takes so much time – especially collecting image files into the Links-folder. This behavior is generally observed with Illustrator files.
- Performance degradation is observed while working on indd document and not with the IDML of the indd document.
- Lag observed for almost every action from selecting objects, resizing objects, or moving objects
Troubleshooting steps tried to resolve issues
- Disable 3rd party plugins - One of the customer has tried with Suitcase Fusion but there was no improvement in the performance.

To me it's related to the way InDesign handles the Apple Studio Display parameters, not to the fact of changing screen, because the ASD is my only screen (I don't have to change screen to provoque the bug).
