Indesign window appears on many desktops as identical
Indesign window appears on multiple desktops on MacOS 10.13.6 When changing desktop the window stays on top of everything

workspace close when changing scale
- Adobe CC (latest update)
- Up-scale or down-scale an item (picture, text, etc.)
- Up-scaling or down-scaling the item correctly.
- Unable to scaling properly and all the workspace disappear. The scaling seems to works without any Enter key being press. So ...when I press Enter or Tab, the workspace disappear. I have to go to the menu, change it to another one before reset it to mine.
- The printscreen won't help in this case.

Can't Open JPEG file
Hi there
I am having trouble opening up .jpeg files from Indesign. It is installed as a part of my Creative Cloud subscription. Please see attached for the error that pops up. Your help will be appreciated.

G2 votesJPEG files cannot be opened directly in InDesign. They can only be placed.
Create a new document and from the File menu, select the Place option. Select a JPEG file and click Open.Hope this helps.

Document Fonts Package Between WINDOWS & MAC Not Recognized
Hello.
There is a problem when doings packages between Windows & Mac OS : since years when you do a package on an OS through another the fonts saved in the folder "Document Fonts" is not recognized by the OS...
So we can't open & modify the document when we received a package from Windows when we are on MAC OS or vice-versa.
So we need the client to supply the fonts one by one which is quite annoying.

InDesign 2018 can't differentiate between two similiar font names
Our company works with two fonts called "CalloutTS" and "CalloutTS2". They are similiar, but not the same. For years everything worked fine. But since the CC 2018 update, InDesign can't differentiate between these two fonts anymore. You can now only select "CalloutTS". But depending on which computer your working on it randomly shows either the glyphs of "CalloutTS" or of "CalloutTS2". InDesign reads the font name of "CalloutTS2" now also as "CalloutTS" and can't decide which font to show. It seems like a simple digit isn't enough anymore to differentiate between two font names. XML output from CC2018 lacks Optimized image path
When exporting XML from InDesign you can choose to export optimized images. In CC2017 and earlier the image element would include a href_opt attribute with the path to the exported optimized image.
In CC2018, this attribute is not included.
The href_FMT and href attributes do carry through.

trying to convert my file but it says the IDML file conversion is unavailable

Converting 2018 to 2017
Most times when trying to open indd 2018 files from indd 2017, it gives the option to convert. Then says unable to convert because I'm not signed in when in fact...I am.

Error code 14: File cannot be opened - file from network storage is incompatible
My InDesign (2018) document is synced for offline use in Google Drive. (We've just begun using Google File Stream). I go to open the document with WIFI disabled and this error message appears (see attachment).
When I enable WIFI again, the document opens without issue.

XML structure
I'm working with a client that needs to use InDesign and InCopy to create documents that are marked up with XML. After relinking stories or updating graphics in InCopy, it destroys any special structure set up with the XML. For example, I have a handful of charts that are nested under a parent tag which is then nested another parent tag. Inserted a chart into this frame in InCopy--saved and closed. Opening this file in InDesign, all nested XML is blown open.

InDesign fails to launch due to "Error: 0xc000012f"
For the last week or so, I have not been able to open InDesign. It seems it is the only Adobe programme causing me problems.
I've tried uninstalling and installing InDesign - nothing happens. I've sent a few bug reports, but haven't received any answer to how I get the programme to work.2 votesMany internal as well as external factors can cause the InDesign application to crash/freeze/hang.
Error 0xc000012f means that you lack the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable files which are prerequisites of the InDesign application.

Data Merge - Images
Upon upgrading from CC2017 to CC2018, I am unable to data merge images. Opened previous files and the link PDF (image of QR Code) will not display.
I've re-installed 2017 and problem is solved.

Can not start InDesign CC 2018
I can not start the InDesign CC 2018 after the update from CC 2017. The program did not start. Nothing happened. Need I some special rights, now? What could be the reason?

pen constraining and / or snapping
Drawing with the pen tool snaps / constrains to fixed increments rendering it useless. This occurs even after turning off snap to guides and smart guides and using control to disable.

Custom GREP-queries are suddenly away
I had a nice collection of custom GREP queries. But suddenly they are away. They were numbered from 1 to 18. I'm very down to do this all again … Is there a way to find this again? Where are the custom queries saved? I updated from macOS 10.12.4 to macOS 10.12.5. Maybe that's the reason? Or is the reason that I had numbered them?

Persistent startup screen
When opening old ID documents frequently the startup screen hangs on the main screen. This happens specially after missing images, plug-ins an fonts warnings. Have to quit and relaunch ID...
