Can no longer change fonts in the glyph table
Can no longer change fonts within the glyph table.
It used to be possible to have a character selected and change fonts or typefaces in the glyph table to discover where that character exists in another font. Now it only reverts to whatever paragraph or character style is already applied and doesn't allow the font to be changed.

Can't Duplicate multiple Page with Alt + Drag and place them in a specific place just moves to bottom
This used to work but the past years updates have stopped this function, again another thing that worked removed! You used to be able to shift click on a few pages in the pages panel then alt drag them and place them ANYWHERE in the document, sometimes i liked them straight underneath current pages but now for some unknown reason its doesn't allow me to do this with more than one page? when you try to move the selected pages nothing happens and the pages are just duplicated at the end of the document not very helpful with a 100 page document why has this been removed?

Simple cursor insertion point inaccurate in text
I hover the cursor over the space (between two letters, for example) but the actual insertion point is a letter off, to the left of the intended location.

InDesign is still unusably slow
Despite many many threads about this, I cannot find an answer that solves this issue. I am getting a spinning wheel on almost every action I perform in InDesign. It spins for around 10 seconds and then is good until I do anything else. It is incredibly frustrating.
I am running InDesign 16.3.2 a part of Adobe CC 2021.
I am on a 2018 MacBook Pro, running Big Sur 11.4
32 GB Ram
2.9GHz i9 ProcessorI have tried a bunch of 'answers' from previous threads but none seem to work. Please help!

Can't drag & drop elements into CC Libraries panel
In the latest version (16.3.2), drag and drop of a graphic on to the CC Libraries panel no longer works - is broken. I have to use the "Add elements" + button instead.
I've quit and restarted InDesign, I've restarted my Mac. No change.

Export Jpeg to nas, finder crash
I have a MacbookPro under macOs BigSur version 11.4 with an Apple M1 chip, the version of Indesign is 16.3.2, when I export one of my files either locally or on the network nas, in the JPEG format to the NAS and I want to open the Finder to see if the file is saved, as soon as I click on it without opening it, the Finder no longer responds and the same for Indesign, which forces me to close Indesign so that the Finder will work again, is there a compatibility problem since there is still no version of Indesign for Apple Silicon processors?

space bar short cut for Hand tool NOT WORKING
usually when I have problem in one Adobe product, it is the same problem in all (Illustrator and Photoshop)... when it goes away in one, it goes away in all. Something is triggering it, but I can't reproduce it at will... just sucks when it happens

Spellcheck marking correctly spelled words as incorrect
Using the most current version of CC ID
I always have dynamic spelling turned on, and my dictionary is set to English USA, however, some files appear to have flagged correctly spelled words as incorrect, while other files appear to be normal. Screenshot examples, 'Dark' and 'Inspiration'.The issue seemed to come on randomly
Saving as IDML does not fix the issue, nor does restarting the program3 votes -
index marker grep bug in findchangelist
The prelisted double to single space query in the findchangebylist.jsx also delets index markers between spaces.
While using the find-exchange window in ID to first look for [space]+(~I+)[space]+ to exchange it with [space]$1 works well enough, putting this in the findchangelist.txt, it deletes the index markers aswell. (note: [space] is only to visualize a regular space. I'm not writing it out in my queries.)
I also noticed, that they also only partially work in the regular GREP search in the F/E-window: using lookahead or lookbehind is only able to find the position of the marker but not the character that the query is supposed to find. For exhample.:
[space] (~I+)\K <-finds the position of one or more index markers after a space (no selection)
[space] (~I+)\K[space] <- finds nothing
The same happens with regular lookahead/behind queries. Can the GREP support for index markers please be fixed?

InDesign 16.2.1
Trying to export transparent PNG files from InDesign from a page with a transparent PSD source, results in PNG files with dark lines in the shadow region of the exported png.

[GPU Performance issue] ID 16.2.1 introduces GPU lag and stuttering on macOS
The InDesign 16.2.1 update for Mac introduces a general lag when panning, scrolling, or zooming in and out, using either the trackpad or the hand tool.
In the previous version of InDesign, when the Application Frame was active, each one of these actions was completely buttery smooth and GPU-accelerated.
Now, it's stuttery and choppy, and an overall unpleasant experience (although this was the default level of performance for many previous years of InDesign; however, now that we've seen much better, with software that actually makes use of our powerful hardware, we'd like not to regress).
The issue was found on a MacBook Pro with an 8-core Core i9 processor and the AMD Radeon Pro Vega 20 4 GB HBM2 workstation GPU on macOS Catalina 10.15.7 after updating InDesign.
The same issue also occurred after updating InDesign on another MacBook Pro with a Core i9 and the AMD Radeon Pro 5600M 8 GB HBM2 workstation GPU, on a clean install of macOS Big Sur 11.4.
GPU Performance is activated, and the Application Frame is active. Even previously, the lag in question was present when the Application Frame was not active, but the solution was to turn it on. Now, sadly it's laggy and choppy on any view. It's usable, but not ultra-smooth anymore.
Removing preferences and reinstalling InDesign 16.2.1 does not improve performance.
We want Adobe to make sure that each update is actually improving our quality of life, not leaving the programs slower and less performant than they were previously, causing us to waste more time writing these reports.
These type of unexpected and unexplained issues discourage us from upgrading, and encourage us to mistrust updates, instead staying on stable versions that work for us. If issues like these are not resolved, this is what I will recommend to people in my industry.

Endnotes content shuffled by ICML import
InDesign/InCopy versions 14, 15, & 16
The position of user-entered "extra" content in an endnote story is currently lost when endnotes are replaced during an update of the associated story.
Adobe's help documentation says (from the "Work with endnote text" section of https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/endnotes.html )
"Endnotes in the endnote frame are indicated with Endnote Markers. Text, such as heading, can be typed in the endnote frame outside these markers. This extra content does not belong to any endnote."
This suggests that user content in an endnotes story is allowed and supported.
However, extra content moves around during an update. An attached screenshot (1_shuffled.png) shows a "before" (left side) with user-entered chapter headers in the endnotes separating each story's endnotes and an "after" (right side) which shows the same endnotes after editing Story 2 in InCopy and then updating its link. The update's ICML import has moved all of Story 2's endnotes ahead of the "Chapter 2" header.
Another screenshot (2_between.png) shows how user content that was between endnote entries is repositioned in front of the endnote entries after an update. It looks as though the ICML import removed all of story A's old endnotes and then added in the new endnotes en masse, and lost the old positions in the process.
A third screenshot (3_between2.png) shows that the same reshuffling happens to user content that's in its own paragraphs and completely between endnotes.
And lastly, an attached screenshot (4_mangled.png) shows how updating a story (Story B) that was edited with InCopy can completely mangle the existing endnotes structure. The ICML import has moved Story B's endnotes to be right after Story A's, has put the Story B header after the new endnote entries, and has orphaned user content that was previously between the endnotes.
An ICML import should retain the position of each endnote entry rather than removing all the old entries and then adding all of the imported entries at an arbitrary position.

PLEASE INCREASE THE USER INTERFACE FONT SIZE - My eyesight is suffering!
I have tried to increase the zoom size to increase the overall font size when I am working on InDesign and it is still too small! My eyesight really hurts, even after the adjustments. Note: The adjustment works with Illustrator, so I am not sure why Indesign cannot do the same thing. I am so tired of the tiny font size.
