qr
Hi,
We created a business card for our employee, that includes QR code generated within InDesign. When we tested it with Android it reads everything correctly, but when reading QR code with iPhone, it only reads first and last name and job title. We tested with several different Iphones and everywhere the same result. But when we've tested a similar business card from a colleague, it worked ok. Sending both business cards in the attachment. Daniel Fischer's business card is not working correctly on the iPhone.
We are using InDesign 15.1.1 x64

Some spreads gone grey and only export as blank pages in 15.1.1
I have a 48-page magazine about to go to print and three spreads have suddenly gone grey - as you see in screenshot. In the Pages panel they appear blank and when I export them - also blank. Getting worried...
Separately, the "Fit Page/Spread in Window" instead zooms in to 2,642% magnification.

FIle extension should NOT be highlighted in the Save window.
FIle extension should NOT be highlighted in the Save window.
This didn't use to happen, but all the adobe apps has started doing this from 2 or 3 updates ago.
PLEASE REVERT. There's no good reason for the file extension to be highlighted.

Update to the latest version not possible
After reinstalling Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe InDesign CC 2018 (version 13.1) on a new Windows computer, it is not possible to update to the latest version 13.1.1.
Even with a new installation of Adobe InDesign, version 13.0, no update is offered.
All update installers should be available for all authorized versions * of the Creative Cloud.5 votes -
Spinning wheel keeps running make program not responding
When starting up InDesign 2020 (15.0.3) it runs a ok for a couple of minutes, then the spinning wheel comes on/off randomly. When on its impossible to use the program.
Its the program CEP Html Engine causing the problem. A lot of instances is started up (se attached image). Tried to debug the problem and found that its the file cef.pak (in CEP Program folder) that’s the problem. When removing this, everything is fine except that the startup popup is missing.5 votes -
Renaming hyperlinks shared destinations: broken links in exported PDF
Hello,
I encounter a serious issue with InDesign 2020 (15.0.3) when renaming hyperlinks shared destinations (linking pages in the same document):
Those links seem still working in InDesign when clicking a page icon in the Hyperlinks panel (it leads to the proper destination page)
They don't work anymore after the PDF export in Acrobat (the links are clickable but they lead nowhere)
I had to re-create all the shared destination links in the document, which is a huge waste of time at least and makes the feature very unreliable.I made 2 tests files, here's the Dropbox link: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/lugt070lkyzvnwr/AABIqY90wl4A0ujhD66K6nFaa?dl=0
Test A
A 3 pages InDesign file (and the related exported PDF).
3 shared destinations leading to each page, named Page 1, Page 2, Page 3.
3 links on each page, set using the shared destinations.
All works fine in this file once exported as interactive PDF.Test B
Same file as Test A except i renamed these shared destinations:
Page 1 > Page 1-Renamed
Page 2 > Page 2-Renamed
The links using these shared destinations don't work anymore once exported as interactive PDF.And here's my post in the community forum:

Crash when "fitting frame to content" on an inline-anchored textframe (inline or above line)
Hi,
Last week i noticed that InDesign crashes when I fit the textframe to its contents, when that textframe is anchored as "text" inside another textframe (anchor-option: incline or above line) when it is not separated by paragraph breaks or whitespaces.I have a file that has one textframe for the main column. In it I placed several smaller textframes with more than one column as textelements.
I didn't separate them by a space or linebreak. When fitting one of the smaller frames to its content by double clicking the lower reference point in the middle to get rid of whitespace inbetween the smaller frames, indesign crashes immediatly. When adding linebreaks inbetween the anchored textframes inside the main one, the "fitting frame to content"-action works fine.
Attached is a video of the problem.
If you have any questions feel free to ask. Please fix the problem.
My company is using this textframe-in-textframe solution as templates to automatically populate the frames with text using a script. When executing that script Indesign crashed and we had to go look for the issue. Fixed the templates by adding linebreaks.I added my bugreport on another Bug that seemed similar but after reviewing it it seems like it's a separate bug: https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601180-adobe-indesign-bugs/suggestions/39398323-anchored-textframe-with-auto-sizing-auto-adjusting

eyedropper options
I'm using InDesign 2020 and lately when I (accidentally) double click the eyedropper tool in the toolbar, it opens the Eyedropper Options window. There's an "OK" and "Cancel" button. When I click on either I can't close the window. It stays in the foreground in all applications. I can move it around, but not close it. The only way I've been able to get rid of the window is to force quit InDesign.

Bugs with Whitespaces in Justification’s Composer when work with Thai language and other issues
As my report on bug with text wrapping in 2020 version (https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601180-adobe-indesign-bugs/suggestions/38998636-bug-with-world-ready-composer-when-use-space-like). Many of issues were fixed, but some still remain.
.
Before going to the issue in the title of the post, I want to specify some issue that doesn’t fix form my last report. If you see on the attachment img 02, you will see the issue about text encoding (it just only my suspicion) that happen when you just copy and paste text (specifically in Thai) form 2020 version to 2019 or to another text editor. After I had pasted text into TextEdit (you can find “Copy And Paste Text form Selection Text.txt” in attachment) almost vowels and tone marks were changed into quotation marks that which made me suspicious about text encoding in that language.
.
I do not know that this issue has a relative to the issue in question. The white spaces. As you can see in “img 01” in attachment (and on Indesign file which was also attached) on the text where I high-lighted.
.
First, you can see white space play as a character in the beginning of the line, like other white spaces such as thin-space. And you also see, when applied paragraph with Adobe World Ready Composer, either single line and paragraph, spaces other than whitespace that insert form space bar play as character on the end of the line when you apply text justify. In an example I shown to you, en-space did not collapse. It stilled as a character.
.
Other than that, you can see the close parenthesis was sole wrapped into the next line, even it should stayed with the last word.
.
Nearly half year, after you had claimed that Indesign support Thai, I still cloud’t update into 2020 version because of all these fatal issues. As my report on bug with text wrapping in 2020 version (https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601180-adobe-indesign-bugs/suggestions/38998636-bug-with-world-ready-composer-when-use-space-like). Exporting a PDF from Indesign is creating Form Xobject containers for everything.
This is happening to me now and is messing everything up for 508 accessibility remediation. Copied this from another user. "The latest version of InDesign exports PDF's in which most all the tagged content is in an Xobject container, making accessibility remediation MUCH MORE DIFFICULT. This is a huge step backwards. Attached are two examples, from the same client, annual reports- last year's was fine, this year's has all the xobject issues. Please advise, help, fix, something!!!"

Version 15.0.2 - Duplicate folder saving to desktop
After moving a packaged folder from the desktop, if I go back to edit the file it creates a duplicate folder to the desktop with only the contents of Document fonts (which does not include all fonts). Definitely a concern of saving over existing data.

CMD+O (Open File Dialog) Doesn't work after new 15.0 and 15.0.2 releases.
CMD+O no longer opens the "Open File Dialog" upon first entering InDesign after launch. Once you open a file thru the Menu, CMD+O starts working properly.
This was an issue in a previous version release, and now it has turned up again in this latest release.

installed 2020 and uninstalled 2019, no files not associating with the app
After installing 2020 to edit files created in the latest version, all .indd files are not associated with Indesign at all. When I try to update default settings to associate .indd files with InDesign, the file type .indd is not listed.

blacked out images with no broken links
InDesign ver 15.0.1
I have a file that displayed all linked images correctly this morning. 90% of the images are linked from my desktop, which is also where the InDesign file is located. 2 of the linked images are from a network cloud server. After disconnecting from the server and then reopening the file, all linked files appear to have broken links. However when, checking the Links panel, only the images that were linked from the server are broken. This makes sense except that all linked images populate the document as either a gray box or a solid black box.
After relinking all images, they appear normal on screen again. Prior to relinking them, I did a PDF export and all images appear correct in the PDF.
This has happened on several files recently, with no easy solution to get the images restored.
I expect that the images that are not broken links should display correctly and only broken links should display as blurred or black boxes.
What I'm getting is no broken links, and nearly all images displaying as black.
