1. Recent Files thumbails don't match corresponding documents

   When choosing an ID document to open from the "recent files" screen, the wrong file opens; i.e., the document that opens does not match the document that I clicked on. Or, sometimes I get an error claiming that the document cannot be found, but the file is indeed right where I left it. This does not happen every time...sometimes the right document does open from the recent files screen, but not usually. This has only been happening to me only for the past week or two. I have not moved my files, changed folder names, replaced hard drives, or any other changes like that. This happens for files that were even opened and saved from the day before, or even an hour before.

4. Object does not stay in center of document after resizing document format

   Hello, I found some weird issues in Indesign CC 13.1 on Mac OS El Capitan.
   When I place an object centerd in the middle of a document (for example
   500 x 500 px) and I resize the document size to for example 700 x 700 px (something larger than 500 x 500), the Object won't stay in the middle, but moves to the right or left border - even I set the reference point within the transform-window to "middle" and also disable "double page".

   Why does the object not stay centered at the document format?

5. Redefine Paragraph Style

   »Redefine InDesign Style« does not work for »Ruby Point Size« and »Kenten Size« after scaling.

   This results in paragraph style overrides.

6. Help with Swatches

   InDesign CC 2018
   Trying to create a new swatch with "none" selected, but when I roll over "new swatch" button I get this symbol 🚫. On another forum, the correct answer was to select a user defined swatch; however, I am new to InDesign and working on my first project, so I don't have any user defined swatches.

7. Character, paragraph menus too long and getting longer on every open

   The Character and Paragraph menus, anchored to the right side of my InCopy, pop out with extra empty space to the right of the menu options. And the extra space has grown each time I've opened InCopy on a fresh open. So when I just opened it today, the character menu is beyond the left edge of InCopy and beyond the left side of my laptop screen even. Paragraph styles menu, in the same grouping of menus, is fine, because it has a corner I can grab to resize it. And they also are still too wide when I un-anchor them and let them float. Screenshots attached. Have not yet tried to uninstall and reinstall. Was hoping it was a known bug with easy fix.

8. InDesign 2018 13.1 crashing when saving back to Studio Server

   We've just updated our studio with new macs, running High Sierra Version 10.13.4 and the most recent InDesign Version 13.1.

   When we open a .indb document and edit one of the individual .indd files within it and attempt to save back to our Studio NAS drive/Server on our ethernet network the program crashes, corrupts the entire file and makes no effort to restore the file.

   We are also running our old Macs, on Yosemite 10.10.5 with Indesign 2017 and have not experienced this issue at all for the 7 years we have used these machines.

   We’ve looked on various forums but Adobe and Apple seem to be pointing the finger at each other for a solution!

   Any ideas?

9. Can't Open JPEG file

   Hi there

   JPEG files cannot be opened directly in InDesign. They can only be placed.
   Create a new document and from the File menu, select the Place option. Select a JPEG file and click Open.

10. high sierra 13.5

    I have a MacBook Pro 2018 and upgraded my OS to 10.13.5 last week. Ever since upgrading to High Sierra originally I had some issues with the program freezing when my computer was running lots of programs. However, after upgrading the OS last week now Indesign has become almost non-functional (I have CC v. 13.1 ). Every time I click to simply type or scroll pages the colour wheel spins and it takes literally minutes to make a single click.

    I have restarted my computer, tried using different files locally on my machine and an our company server. Documents with more cross references have even bigger problems. If I try to click to frequently it will freeze up my entire screen and I have to do a hard shutdown and reboot my laptop.
    I suspect there is some issue with incompatibility with the latest version of mac OS 10.13.5 that I installed but I must install mac updates for security reasons.
    Will uninstalling and reinstalling Indesign make any difference?
    I want to ask if this is a known issue and if there is a fix I can use?! Right now I cannot work with files I need to in indesign.

12. When creating a EPUB with jpeg images there is always a .PNG file

    When creating a EPUB with jpg images there is always a large .png file in the EPUB (it this is not an image). Publish Drive is refusing my EPUB because of this .PNG file.

13. US Dictionary continues to use UK spellings

    My Indesign Dictionary is set to English: USA, but it still regularly corrects to UK spellings i.e. enrol vs. enroll. I am running Indesign 13.1. Can this be fixed?

    The Dictionary section in Preferences dialog shows the Dictionary that is in use for a particular Language. The path (which looks like /Linguistics/UserDictionaries/Adobe Custom Dictionary/…) shown in the dialog is the location of the dictionary that is being used. You can add your own custom User Dictionary by clicking on the + button.
    The Language used for Spell check is NOT the one chosen in the Preferences dialog.

    To specify the default Language used for Spell check for all documents, you should close all documents and select the Type Tool. The Control panel (when Character Formatting Controls – ‘A’ button is selected at the left) shows the Default Language set for all documents. This is the language used for Spell Check. You can also open the Paragraph Styles panel, double-click on the [Basic Paragraph] style and under Advanced Character Formats section, change the Language.

14. hand tool

    Hand tool icon not appearing under random conditions CC 2018.

    Very confusing when you hit spacebar and move icon does not change, yet functionally still works.

    EXAMPLE: move icon is still there despite pressing spacebar. I wait for it to change to the hand icon, but nothing. Then i try to use it as 'normal', and it works as the hand tool, then changes at last.

    It should change when you press it. NOT not wait, until you USE it.

16. Assigned Shift+Delete to Edit→Cut; it does not work

    It's quite annoying that Adobe products doesn't support the Ctrl+Insert, Shift+Delete and Shift+Insert (Copy, Cut and Paste) operations by default. All other software on Windows does support so everybody is used with this.

    So I assigned the above shortcuts via Edit→Keyboard Shortcuts...
    The Ctrl+Insert and Shift+Insert works, but the Shift+Delete (Cut) doesn't. It seems to me a bug, Shift+Delete being hard-coded and it's taking precedence over the assigned key combination.

17. Group in Old Layer -> Ungroup in New Layer = Error

    I like to layer different styles of content. I'll have a background layer for images, etc., that I want to not touch later so I can lock/unlock while I work with my content over the top of it. Sometimes, I accidentally am in the background layer and create content that needs to be moved to another layer. I would love for a feature like Illustrator that allows me to highlight an object or group of objects, click an opposing layer, and then right-click > arrange > move to selected layer.

    Also, there is a slight bug I've found, but it doesn't crash and I can work around it: When I have grouped objects, and I copy and paste them into a new layer, they appear to be in the new layer; however, if I ungroup them, they automatically de-group back into their original layer before I copied and pasted them. Does that make sense? That feature I mentioned above would fix this, but either way, this bug is kind of annoying because then I have to go back and copy and paste the ungrouped objects back into the new layer I wanted them in.     There is an option in the Layers panel flyout menu called “Ungroup Remembers Layers”. This is ON by default. That’s why when you ungroup, the objects go back to the layers to which they belonged prior to the grouping. You can uncheck this option if you want to have the objects get ungrouped on the same layer as the group.

18. idml file with frontend xml crashes with lower version indesign

    when ever we try to make idml files with frontend xml, which required to open lower version of indesign file, it get crashes. Now i got in a conclusion idml files with frontend xml does not work... can you fix.

19. Menu select font, bug in multiples monitors

    If you use multiple monitors and go select font in menu. The position is wrong, the menu of fonts appeared to top, but the correct position is for bottom. So view font list is very bad.

20. Hex Value in Swatch Dialog Does Not Update

    InDesign 13.1 Create a new RGB or edit an existing RGB swatch. Note the Hex value in the dialog box. Switch to a different color mode and change the color values. Switch back to RGB mode. The Hex value does not update to match the new color values.
