PDF-Comments Panel - Buttonclicks don't register - click several times + SOLUTION
Report a minor issue in Indesigns PDF-Correction-Panel.
SOMETIMES in the PDF-correction panel my mouseclicks on the "accept"-Button wouldn't register reliably and i have to click several times in order for the correction to be made. Solution: The clickable area in the button is wrong. You have to click on the "accept"-TEXT inside the button, you can't click somewhere in the outer highlighted area of the button (which would be the expected behaviour).
(Bug in latest version of Indesign CC, as of May2022, german locale)

No transparency when placing vector objects from CC library
All of a sudden InDesign does not support transparency from the CC library. Any object in the library with transparency no comes with a white background. I'm not sure why randomly this has started, but it's extremely annoying and a giant workflow hang-up.

Interactive PDF doesn't snap to fit when viewing in landscape mode on smartphones
I created a 14-page landscape document in InDesign (12.2.1) that will ideally be viewed on desktops and smartphones and I needed to add hyperlinks.
Adding hyperlinks in Acrobat causes glitches in the artwork (fonts distorted/ images shifted). Adding the links in InDesign exports great, but I’m creating this file to be viewed by anyone that wants to - which will likely be on a smartphone.
I view it on my iPhone and when I hold my phone vertically, I can see the full (landscape) page (albeit small). But when I rotate the phone to landscape (to make it bigger), the top or bottom of the image is offscreen. This error doesn't happen with the glitchy version adapted in Acrobat.
Is there a way to ensure that the PDF will snap to fit when viewed in landscape mode on a smartphone?

Share for review comments disappear when updating link
I am currently working with a 102 page document that is shared with several customers. Once I make edits and I update the link, all comments from myself and the customers disappear. Even after restarting my computer, updating InDesign, signing out and signing in of Creative Cloud, the problem still persists. I am working on a MAC and InDesign version 17.2.1. This problem is only happening with one project file, and I've also tried moving all of the pages to a new document with no luck. I appreciate any help.

Mark positioning (GPOS) went wrong for text on path
Khmer rendering has been working well on most of the Adobe products. InDesign is one of them, especially after the fix: https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601180-adobe-indesign-bugs/suggestions/36534535-khmer-script-justification-is-broken.
However, I've just noticed that there is another bug with GPOS for Khmer (or maybe other scripts), when the text is on a path.

PDF Preview Issue/Transparent Objects Missing
PDFs set up for print are missing transparent objects in the image preview. Opened file looks normal and prints fine. It just throws my client off in a big way and that's NOT fine.

Font disappears when size of text is changed
When working in a text box and changing the size of the font, the text disappears altogether. If I change the font to a different one, the text reappears, then change font back to the one I used originally and text disappears again. (For example: changed font from default myriad pro to Ultra--text still showing; changed font size--text disappears; change font to Roboto (or anything else)--text reappears.)
No matter position of text box, size of box, size of font, changing to overprint view, nothing makes the text reappear except changing the font to something else. Font/text is also missing when the file is exported in any format (jpeg, pdf, etc.)
Has happened multiple times with different fonts (so far Montserrat and Ultra are the most consistent with this issue) over the last few years (read: many versions of indesign and this is still an issue).

ID 17 English LTR document with any RTL text exports as RTL epub
I edited this to remove the urgent notice. The publisher does not want to publish this book as an epub.
The basic problem remains, however.
When exporting an epub 3.0 from an academic book written in English with some RTL text sections, typically tables with Hebrew and English text, the epub exports in reverse order. That is, the title page is at the end of the epub, and the last page of the text is the first in the epub. So far it seems that the presence of any RTL elements, even a single character, causes the epub to export as if it were an RTL book.
17.2.1, 17.1 and 17.0.1 all export the same way.
The reflowable epub export General tab has the Content -> Order set to "Based on Page Layout". That is the only option available.
To reproduce, export to reflowable epub a book with a few RTL elements. I created a 50 page 6×9 in. lorem ipsum ID document with three Hebrew words in the first sentence; exporting the file as a reflowable epub results in the first page at the end of the file. Even a single RTL character is sufficient to export with the first page at the end of the epub.
I cannot attach my .indd test file; it should be be easy enough to create one.
The attached screen snap shows that the epub page ordering is from right to left.

copy
Allow normal use of copy and paste with system-wide shortcuts from PDF comments. Most of the time I try to copy text from a PDF comment to paste into a document, the selection disappears and no "copy" option appears. I need to be able to copy and paste text from comments as easily as any other text. This issue is seen in 17.2.1 on an M1 iMac running Monterey 12.3.1.

Redefine Character Style not available
When changing the parameters of a selection that has a Character Style applied, the 'Redefine Style' should become available in the Character Style's contextual menu. But unfortunately, this is not the case.

story editor
Using Indesign 17.2 on x64 PC. Brand-new machine with fresh install.
To reproduce the issue open the story editor then close it.
Expected result: The story editor closes and I can resume working in the main document window immediately.
Actual result: When I close the story editor, the window disappears but all the tools on the toolbar, except the text tool, remain greyed out and I can't do anything in the main document for around 30 seconds.

Convert Footnotes and Endnotes problem and a bonus scripting problem with special characters
Indesign 17 on MacOs 12.3.1
Convert Footnotes and Endnotes does not work when the footnotes does not have a footnote number.
I have an Indesign document with footnotes.
In each footnote I have removed the footnote number and the following tab character. (~F\t)I need these footnotes to be endnotes but this is not possible with the command "Convert Footnotes and Endnotes".
Without the footnote number in the footnotes the command/script does not recognise the footnotes as being footnotes.
They are however still footnotes and I can continue working with them as footnotes and also address them via scripting but the command "Convert Footnotes and Endnotes" does not work.
I can reinsert a footnote number in each of the footnotes manually one by one by going through "Special Characters > Markers > Footnote Number.
This will make the conversion work but this should not be necessary.
Now to the bonus problem:
I figured I could simply iterate the footnotes and insert the footnote number with a simple script. Guess what? Not that simple.
I can insert everything except for the SpecialCharacters.FOOTNOTE_SYMBOL in the footnotes.
Looking at the undo menu it appears as if indesign thinks it has inserted something as it says: "Undo Insert Text"
But nothing was inserted. So ... I guess that I have two bugs here.
Please help.

PDF export fails when placed svg has a smlns:sxlink attribute
There's an error in exporting to PDF from Indesign when you have an SVG placed, and that SVG contains an smlns:sxlink attribute - this makes it impossible to create the PDF (and thus, use the software to create your document).
The 'PDF export failed' error message doesn't give any info on how to fix the issue. And the default .svg export from Illustrator adds in that .svg attribute... so I create my graphics in Illustrator... but then they prevent my InDesign file from creating documents! Not great.
If you remove the part that says:
xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"Then the opening tag will look like this:
<svg xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" viewBox="0 0 693.21 430.88">Then resave the SVG, after which there’s no issue with exporting the PDF from Indesign.
There’s something about that property on the svg that the INDD export function doesn’t like, and throws up an error on.
There’s obviously been some kind of change in default export values when Adobe Illustrator is creating SVG files; because this wasn’t a problem in the past, and I haven’t custom-edited the svgs until I thought to try it just now. There's an error in exporting to PDF from Indesign when you have an SVG placed, and that SVG contains an smlns:sxlink attribute - this makes it impossible to create the PDF (and thus, use the software to create your document).

Out of a blue, white text on colour background stopped showing in exported pdf's. InDesign 17.2
It is the same exact document I exported into pdf 12 days prior with no issues. NOTHING has been changed other than the background colour & tracking of the paragraph style. And NO, this is NOT an overprint issue, I have read that thread through. And NO, this is NOT a version issue either, the same exact version. I could not get this report through with screenshots attached.
And oh, this is not only a pdf-related issue, it's the same thing with exported jpg.
