1. Eyedropper bug — attribute pick-up is glitched by hidden layers above

   If there are objects overlapping and above the source for the eyedropper tool, — even if those objects are on a hidden layer — the tool picks up a color of no fill and no stroke.

   If the hidden layer is dropped below the target layer, the problem goes away.

3. have to choose export folder every time

   In CC2019 and before, Indesign seemed to remember, in which folder it was exporting last. So when I was in Job A, it would offer me Folder A to begin with. When I was in Job B, it would offer mit Folder B to begin with.

   In CC2020 (under 10.15.1) it seems Indesign shows the last folder I was woring in. So when I am in Job A an chose Folder A by hand, then close the job and open Job B, When exporting the file would be saved in folder A. Which is quite annoying to be honest. I also can't find any setting that would fix this (and if there are people out who feel the new way is way better: I would like to make a point for the old behaviour and maybe an option to choose between those two, since I solely need to export my pdfs in the folder my main job is located.

   Is this behaviour intentional by adobe or could this be a mistake (and easily be fixed)?

4. Since 2020 update, InDesign won't correctly import and replace typekit fonts.

   When opening a file that uses a typekit font, Indesign attempts to "install" it (fonts that SHOULD already be there anyway, or were installed previously). The wheel spins indefinitely, and it never installs. My only workaround I've found is to attempt to find a download elsewhere on the web. Then it works fine. It seems to only be an issue with Indesign, and only since the 2020 update. Something similar happens with some non-adobe fonts, too. Says it's not installed, but it is.

5. Links are not displayed

   Although all my images and graphics are linked correctly and there are no errors, when opening a file, they are appearing as grey boxes. Some images are working but most of them are not. Also PDF export is therefore not working (error message attached). It doesn't matter which file type my links are as it's happening to all kinds of them (mostly TIFF and AI). Perhaps worth mentioning that this problem didn't occur in ID2019.

6. Column Rule colour is inconsistent vs. Fill and Stroke

   The colour applied to a Column Rule is darker than elsewhere applied, e.g., Fills and Strokes.

   1. New file.
   2. Draw a text frame (no text needed) and set the Columns to 2 and turn ON the Column Rule with default values. However, set the Colour to 10% Black.
   3. Set the Fill and the Stroke of the text frame to the very same 10% Black.

   Notice that the Column Rule is darker than the Fill and Stroke. It shouldn't be.

   Hope this helps.

7. Column Rule disappears when grouped objects **with Text Wrap** are moved/nudged

   Firstly, let me just say a BIG thanks for introducing Column Rules in CC 2020.

   However, I've found a couple of problems so far.

   1. New File
   2. Draw a text frame (no text needed) and set the Columns to 2, and turn ON the Column Rule (all basic, default values).
   3. Draw another text or graphic frame (doesn't matter which) and place it anywhere (doesn't matter if it overlays the text frame, or not).
   4. Group the two objects.
   5. HERE IS THE KEY STEP: With the group selected, turn on Text Wrap (doesn't matter which... anything other than 'None').
   6. Move the group ANY amount... e.g., simply nudge it with the arrows on your keyboard. (keyboard or drag with the mouse... the results are the same).

   The column rule will disappear!

   If you double-click to select the 2nd object drawn (not the text frame) and nudge it on its own, the column rule will re-appear. BUT... as soon as you nudge the text frame (on its own) or nudge the group again, the column rule will disappear again.

   The trigger is the Text Wrap. Without it, it behaves normally.

   It does not matter if there is Text Wrap applied to the individual objects. The trigger is the Text Wrap applied to the GROUP of objects.

8. JavaScript not work When mounting /Volumes/users

   MacOS 環境で /Volumes/users が存在すると(サーバーに users でマウントすると）ユーザーが作成した javascript (.jsx ファイル）が動作しなくなります

   /Users/(UserName)/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign/Version 15.0-J/ja_JP/Scripts/Scripts Panel/(ScriptName).jsx

   が /Volumes/users フォルダにマウントしていないと正常動作するのですが /Volumes/users フォルダが存在しているとエラーのビープ音がなって何も行われないです

   /Volumes/users フォルダにマウントしていると Macintosgh HD の /Users フォルダが /Volumes/Users フォルダと見なされているようです

9. Removable Device Warning

   I have been working with InDesign for many years and have learned to store my files on a removable device. This is because I have found them to be more stable than my computer and if the computer goes down, the data is fine. Now, I find myself getting a constant message telling me that I should not do this (which is Adobe's opinion and they are entitled to it) with a check box for me to select if I don't want to receive these messages again. Why, when I check this box, do I keep getting these messages? Sadly the chat I had with Support gave me no advice beyond "this is how application is designed to work on". Please, if you are going to offer people a check box to stop receiving notices, make this box ACTUALLY do that. Very frustrating.

10. The QR code generator is missing the field for a fax number

11. Optical Kerning issues after recent v15 update

    After the recent update (v15.0), I am having issues with Optical kerning, specifically with the font Noto Serif Khmer (Cambodian font). The kerning is completely off. I've opened the file in v14.0.3 and everything works fine in that version.

12. Black artifacts appear on rulers

    When opening an older ID document and working on it, moving the mouse pointer around leaves black artifacts on the rulers, top and left. It also distorts the 0 point of the ruler in the upper left corner.

    A quick zoom and return to 100% size will clear it, but with use, the rulers will accumulate black marks again.

    This bug has persisted in many previous versions of ID, and is alive and well in v15 (2020).

    I hope you can fix this quickly.

13. Indesign freezes when loading .indd files from server

    Every time I try to open a file with .indd extension from our server the program crashes-stops working, therefore I "force quit".
    It starts loading up to the point of the "missing links" notification message (if there are any) and it stops responding-freezes.

    Tho when this same file is copied to the desktop it opens just fine.

    Why and what is the reason and most importantly what is the solution for this problem?

    To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

    We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

    We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

14. Loss of typographic enrichment (italic, bold, etc.) on import .docx files

    On CC2019 14.0.3 but also on previous versions.
    When I import a Miscrosoft Word text I sometimes lose part of the enrichment. On the attached example the majority of Bold are kept but some are gone. This is very problematic when working on documents of several hundred pages.
    The problem occurs with .docx files but not with .doc files.

16. InDesign won't find fonts in file package if the file is in a Dropbox folder

    Version: InDesign 14.0.3 macOS Catalina
    Steps: 1. Package a file and include fonts
    2. Move the package anywhere in the local Dropbox folder
    3. Make sure fonts are not locally activated/present
    4. Open file
    Expected result: InDesign opens fonts in the "Document fonts" folder
    Actual result: InDesign reports fonts as missing
    [Same package moved to Desktop, everything works fine]

17. Multipage PDF Export failure -Backgrond task running constantly

    PDF export constantly runs as background task with zero percent progress until I force quit InDesign, delete the temp recovery file, and delete the "zero bytes" PDF that InDesign failed to genereate. If I leave it and reexport once running InDesign again it happens again. I've found it takes deleting the recovery file (.idlk) and the PDF that has zero data at the location I tried exporting to. Once I do that it seems to work. My InDesign file is multiple pages (32). Smaller page counts and data files seem to work although my InDesign file isn't that large. Once I run through the aforementioned steps and export again the PDF is genereated within 15-20 secs.

18. Placed rotated PDF - incorrect view in InDesign 2020

    Has anyone noticed the following erroneous representation (high-resolution rendering) of placed PDF when rotated (e.g., 90º)?

    Concerns x4 as well as x1a.

19. Keyboard Shortcut cmd-alt-shift-D does not work
