Effects / blending mode
InDesign 16.4 x Windows 64: Cannot scroll the list of blending modes with arrow key(s) and preview the results in a selected box. I've always been able to do this in the past (InDesign CS 2, 4, 6). New laptop, new Adobe subscription. I can 'scroll,' but no preview. Window closes each time, so at least 30 clicks to re-open and select through the list.
Hi everyone,
The behavior mentioned here has been there since InDesign CC (that came out more than 8 years ago in 2013).
Behavior in InDesign CS6 (and earlier) was different.
Please confirm if you were seeing different behavior in any of the CC versions. Illustrator also behaves the same way.

I am left confused from receiving mixed messages about my inability to arrow-scroll and preview Corner Options and Effects / Blending Mode(s) on selected image boxes. First, Ravi, does "the behavior" you refer to mean the ability or the inability in CS and/or CC versions of InDesign? Second, I've been advised by Eugene Tyson to "insert your cursor in the Opacity box - and then use Shift Tab to cycle to the Effects - and then use the arrow keys to scroll," which worked until ... Third, Peter Spier thought it might be "some sort of hardware or driver conflict on your system" and suggested I start up in safe mode to test it. Which I did. Not only could I not scroll/preview, but now Eugene's workaround doesn't work either. Peter then suggested I go through Task Manager and turn off non-essential processes (which I have not done). So I'm left perplexed. Some respondents have said they CAN do it in CC (but I can't be sure they're both scrolling and previewing). So, for me, the question remains: Is it a bug that can/will be fixed?
I do apologize for this lengthy comment, and I very much appreciate the feedback I've received, but I really need these missing features! And at least I need more clarity on whether this is my problem or a CC problem. (BTW, I have a new ASUS laptop, and ASUS recently upgraded their BIOS system in preparation for Windows 11; could this be causing the problem?). Many thanks for whatever clarity/insight you can provide! -

I also see this with InDesign 16.4.0.55 on Windows 10.
With InDesign CS6 version 8.1.0 on the same machine it's still working as expected.Regards,

PS - I have the same problem with Corner Options. I notice these two features -- Effects and Corner Options -- are located together in the same separate area of the Object drop-down menu.
