HTML export creates random "id" values for Object styles tags
When exporting html and I check include classes, InDesign generates "id" values for Object Styles.
This could be be useful if there was a way to define the "id" value, but there seems to be no way to do that. Nor is there a way to turn it off outside of unchecking export class

create outlines

In previous versions, when creating outlines, the newly converted text could simply be ungrouped and the "letters" could be moved and manipulated independently. Now the function is creating each line as a graphic with the only option of releasing compound path to separate the letters. This is hugely inconvenient in a larger block of text. Is this a bug or some new function/option that can be changed? Thanks!1 vote -

Editing type size from story editor is inconsistent
This is a bug, not an idea.
When I attempt to resize text by highlighting text within the story editor, the changes I punch into the toolbar do not always commit. I often have to make 2 or 3 attempts to get my changes to successfully commit.
This issue has been persistent over many versions of Indesign, over many Mac OSes.

InDesign 2019 PDF
InDesign 2019 is changing PDF colours completely. Background is orange but on the PDF it's teal. Only PDFX1-a fixed the problem.

erratic and missing cursor in text frames
My setup: Windows 10 Pro, InDesign CC 14.0.2 x64, Ben-Q monitor.
My cursor behaves properly when I use the Select tool, but when I use the Type tool, the cursor becomes very tiny outside of a text frame. If I click within a text frame, a vertical cursor blinks. However, to maneuver within the text frame, I need to use the cursor keys on my keyboard! I've tried changing the cursor settings for my system and restarting my computer to no avail. Anchored item with white overprints
This is a 'white' bug.
I regularly use anchoring to keep items aligned and for spacing.
Text is black. Art or tables need white in them to knockout the shade beneath.When a table is placed inline or a piece of art is anchored in a text box that has a color or a border... the white is ignored in the anchored object.
There is no reason to ignore a color just because it is inline or anchored.
This bug forces me to layer the object on a different layer, causing extra work in keeping the item aligned after edits.

hyperlink is present for imported document outside of visible cropped area
I have 1 document (doc1) placed into another (doc2). In doc2, doc1 is cropped to not include a footer, which happens to have text in the form of URL, but not explicitly set as a hyperlink in the document. When a PDF of doc2 is exported, a hyperlink is created on the page where the URL would be if it were visible. The link is in the table at the end of the Jordan row over 0.086.

Tutorial sample files will not open
I've got version 14.0.2
In Turtorial, I click Get Files in order to download the files that carry the examples to be used in the tutorial. They download okay, but I can Open them (either from InDesign itself or by clicking the Explorer).
I get a dialog box reading:Adobe InDesign:
"Cannot open the file ".Applycolor.indd". Adobe InDesign may not support the file format, a plug-in that supports the file format may be missing, or the file may be open in another application."1 vote -
PDF Place only shows document - not generic PDF icon
BUG? CC 2019. When placing a PDF file we used to get generic PREVIEW icon which was preferred. Now every "place" only shows the actual contents of the PDF document. This is in the FILE -> PLACE -> "Choose PDF" dialog window

pages missing
Entire pages are missing under the Hyperlink destination tab running v. 14.0.2 on MacBook Pro. Steps to produce - Document with over 300 pages/spreads (non-facing pages), hyperlinking a text box to a page location in the document, pulling the menu to select page number and hundreds of pages are missing.

Input field sizes in the "Document setup" pop-up.
The sizes of width and height input fields are different. Make them the same.

InDesigns gives me random stuff when clicking on an option
Recently, I'm in for a surprise when trying to use InDesign. I click on a certain option, and something random pops up, for example while typing this, I'm clicking on "Window > Pages", I'm getting redirected to Adobe website to buy InDesign (note, I already bought the license). Clicking again, redirected to another InDesign file, clicking another time, now I get my Table Style, basically I get everything except the Pages.
It's always a surprise what I get and I don't know how to get rid of this issue once and for all. This is the case for every option.…

Swatches panel locked in Adobe InDesign CC 2017 Win 10
When editing colours into the swatches panel, the entire panel will be blocked, the colours greyed-out. After having deleted the cache it's OK for a moment, but the problem re-appears regularly. In the specification panel the colours can be nevertheless selected. Who knows the solution to this problem?

paragraph lines don't fit rounded frame-line
When using rounded corners on textframes, paragraph-lines don't fit to the right frame.
We use it with 0,5-pt-framelines and there is a small distance between both lines.
Depending on typesize (and perhaps on other parameters), the distance has different measures.

When exporting a PDF, the progress bar has two frames reversed. As the progress bar moves downwards, it goes from leaving the four bottom lines filled, to the bottom three, bottom two, then an empty bar, then one bar filled. Those last two frames are out of order.

Export to Fixed Layout EPUB - Poor Image Quality
I am currently working on a graphic novel project that I am planning on submitting to apple books as an epub file. The files were created in adobe illustrator and subsequently, linked into adobe indesign to create the final published product. I have noticed that the image quality when exported to epub is far inferior to when that same file is exported to a pdf file. properties panel tab order for changing document size
In the properties panel, please change the tab order for document size/number of pages.
When typing new dimensions for a document I would expect to type the new width for the layout and press tab to then type the new height for the layout, instead, tab takes you to number of pages!
Madness!!!
The number of times I have gone to resize a document and changed the width to a new measurement and then added 594 new pages instead of altering the new height to 594mm.

Programs hangs after having selected a text and then opening the font drop down list.
After having selected some text and then opening the drop down font menu, the program starts doing an infinte number of calculations and never stops (the CPU core being used is maxed and remains like that).
FFS hire someone who can fix it.. its been ages.

after indesign is open I try to open a 2nd file; it attempts to open another instance of indesign (but I only have license for 1 station)
When I already have Indesign open, I try clicking (within windows file explorer) on an Indesign file in an attempt to open it. When I do this an attempt is made to open another instance of Indesign instead of opening the file with the instance of Indesign already open. I only have a license for 1 station of Indesign and so the new instance of Indesign crashes. The result is I am unable to open the Indesign file this way when always before I was able to.
