2. Indesign color separations preview does not work correctly

   The preview goes haywire when I turn separations on and off in InDesign. See screengrabs. Is there a workaround? I have ben unable to find one so far - are Adobe just choosing to ignore this issue?

3. Index sorting does not care about language setting

   1. InDesign 14.0.1 x64
   2. Create a document.

   Add an index reference for the word "Skrå".
   Add an index reference for the word "Skrivare".
   Add an index reference for the word "Överleva".
   Add an index reference for the word "Ondska".

   Go to index Sort Settings. Select Header Type Finnish/Swedish for the Roman script.

   Generate an index.

   Observe:
   Ondska is placed under O.
   Överleva is placed under Ö. Which is at the end of the alphabet. This is as it should be, here in Sweden-land.

   However:
   Skrivare is placed below Skrå. Despite å being placed last in the swedish alphabet. We have "å, ä ö" after z.

   In other words: Index sections care about sort options. There seems to be no way to make the sorting of the actual topics respect the same sort options.

   The only way I've found to generate a proper swedish index is to install the shudder swedish version of InDesign.

   This seems weird to me. I should be able to create documents in other languages than the one InDesign itself is using. And most of InDesign supports this – dictionary languages can be chosen by paragraph, but the index will always be generated based on the InDesign UI language...

4. Critical : can't sync fonts from Adobe

   Hello, just like this guy below :

   Help! Unable to activate fonts InDesign 2019

   I can't sync fonts on indesign from Adobe Fonts. Nothing works. Tried everything.

   Tried syncing them from the Adobe Font website, tried in Indesign, uninstalled all indesign versions, restarted preferences, uninstalled adobe cloud.

   tried everything,

   Deactivating fonts on adobe font website, reactivating them. Doing the same in the cloud app. No fix.

   FONTS HAVING ISSUES : Source Sans pro, Open Sans, League Gothic, Fire Sans , Fire Sans 2.

   The error message is : "unable to sync one or more fonts" (tried all the troubleshoot fixes from adobe for this message)

   But other fonts work well and do sync : Franklin URW, Bebas Neue etc.

   My colleague has no issue on his mac, but I do on my PC. We share the same adobe licence for 2 computers. I tried stopping all software firewall inside Windows.

   It's not due to our network, because my colleague uses the same network...

   I'm currently stuck with projects that can't sync fonts.

   What to do ?

   I already tried with older version of indesign, no success

   We’ve seen this issue happen when you have the same Font already installed on your machine.

   So you may try going to where your Fonts are installed on Windows machine – (Control panel > Fonts) and uninstall/remove the Fonts that you are unable to Sync from Adobe Fonts.

   Hopefully, the problem should get resolved.

5. Basic Shortcuts Gone

   InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator all lost shortcuts such as spacebar hand, zoom, unable to scale boxes in InDesign or constrain placed images, Photoshop you can't constrain a scale with shift. All same in Illustrator. Just noticed these yesterday and assumed it was Mojave, which I installed Saturday. I updated Adobe upgrades but that didn't help.

7. If Paragraph Format uses Shade, only the first line is underlined (instead of all) (Layer Problem!)

   Its not a suggestion, its a bug.
   Under Indesign 13.1, when e.g. a whole page is styled to have a gray shade behind it, and some paragraphs have to be undelined, then ALWAYS the Line before a hard return does not show the underline, because I suppose a layer problem occurs. Indesign seems to see the text on top, then applies the shade and under that the underlining for the text, which won't be shown then. The descenders are shown normally, since they are on top in the text layer. I have not found a way to tell the underline to be the same layer as the text it underlines and from my point of view this seems to be a bug, which should be fixable (and should be fixed).

8. CC libraries

   CC Libraries doesn't load up properly, the drop down menu only stays open if I hold down left click on the mouse and doesn't load the library I want when I release.

   This bug has only come since the most recent update to CC2018 13.1. Running High Sierra on an iMac Pro 2017

9. Windows recents files (at opening)

   Sometimes the files are two times on the panel (same file) and sometimes is a wrong link (opening an other file the icon seems to be).
   Quit, refresh, open an other file : nothing to get the right link.
   Since the late update march 2018 ; I am on 13.1.

   We have recently released InDesign CC 2019 and we believe that this issue should no longer occur.

   You can download the latest version of InDesign from the Creative Cloud Desktop application.

   Please confirm if the issue has got fixed.

10. Error Message "you cannot reverse this change with the edit > undo command".

    This comes up continuously. The only way you can dispose of it is by shutting the program down. Apparently I am not the only person, as it been reported before. See the Adobe forum the same problem - forums.adobe.com/thread/2292990

    This makes it an official problem not exclusive to my experience.

    Do we have fix???

    Indesign 19 will not find paths to files in data merge, but Indesign 18 works fine.
    Same data merge txt. file, but a no-go in InD 19.

13. Image Path Data Merge Is Ignored

    InDesign 19.4 for Mac (Sonoma 14.5)

    After the latest update, the data merge is not longer working properly for image files. While, in some cases, the paths to the images is correctly resolved and the images are embedded, the same data file that has worked earlier this year now creates an issue, so that images are not shown after data merge.

    Instead of using the path given in the data file, InDesign now searches for the images in the folder where the data file is, ignoring the path name in the data file.

    Moving the images into this folder works as a workaround. However, resolving image paths has worked correctly in previous versions, and I would love to have the old functionality back.

15. InDesign V19.1 Updated Jan 18 2024 Bug: Double click on text frame moves the frame every time

    With the new version 19.1, every time I double click on a text box to change text, after each double click the text box is moving a tiny bit. This happens every time in any document and after a program restart.

18. Display issue

    Lines and slightly shifted objects. When I scroll up and down theses lines disappear and reappear elsewhere (=> screenshots 2 and 2B). Since the update to CC 2023, these display errors only appear in Indesign, not in other programs.

19. Absurd translation of the word "spread" in Czech UI

    Please correct the absurd translation of the “spread” on the Effects window. In this context, you cannot translate it as “dvojstránky” (= two pages) but rather “rozšíření” – in InDesign CS6 the translation is correct.

    Please note that in some languages one word can have multiple meanings. For example, in Czech we have one word for month and moon. The words are not interchangeable, you can’t say “the moon of July” in English. But this is exactly how you translate the aformentioned expression!

    It is the same with the word spread in English, it has multiple meanings and cannot be translated with one Czech word.

    I recommend you find another app for automatic translation into Czech, the terminology of new features (fortunately there are not many of them in the last 10 years) are sometimes absolutely pathetic.

20. InDesign window defaults fullscreen after escaping presentation mode

    When entering presentation mode (shift+w), and then escape, InDesign windows becomes fullscreen.

    When I come out of presentation view the window size gets forgotten and automatically becomes the size of my entire screen (very annoying to keep having to resize the window all the time, completely disrupts my work flow) It even cuts off the bottom tool bar, which I use a lot.

    I have an M1 Macbook, Indeisgn 17.4

    I have previously posted this and told that the issue was fixed. I followed all instructions and the issue is still there.
