Problem with changing the cursor to text
Hello. After running the latest version of InDesign CC 2019 v. 14.0, I have a problem with changing the cursor to text. It takes about 50 seconds. This happens each time you launch InDesign.
Hello All,
Thank you for your patience all this while.
This issue is now fixed in the latest update (Id 14.0.1) of InDesign CC.
If you are unable to see the update notification yet, open the menu (three dots) from the top-right of Creative Cloud desktop application and click on ‘Check For App Updates’.
Once the update button is shown against InDesign CC, click on the button to update your InDesign to Id 14.0.1 for the fix of the issue.
Do let us know in the comments, if you face any problem with the new update.
List of fixed issues can be found at: helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/fixed-issues.html

Hi,
As Lucie wrote, the problem persists but now it's a bit different. Every operation on text frame (double clicking to edit, using type tool etc.) takes 2 seconds or even more to take control on the keyboard. Now it's almost impossible to type text without looking at the monitor.
Id CC 2018 wasn't fast but 2019 version, even after update, is a disaster.Win10 machine with all updates.

Hi Lucie,
what's your operating system?I cannot see a delay anymore. Even when working on with other text frames.
I'm on Windows 10.Regards,

Installed and tested the build. It is indeed faster *the first time* you enter a text box... but it is overall much slower as it takes around a second *each time* you interact with text, be it selecting, editing, opening the Character or Paragraph panels or switching between them, as opposed to 30 seconds one shot and then everything working perfectly like the pre build version :(

I removed InDesign CC 2019 and reinstalled InDesign 2018 and everything is working fine.

Very simply, the new InDesign CC 2019 freezes whenever I try to access the type tool.

The same problem is present and I request that this problem be solved as soon as possible.

Empirically I determined that the problem with the slowdown of InDesign is especially strong when there are text boxes in the publication with automatic adjustment in height or width, or height + width.
so even with transparencies -

YES! i'm having the same issue since upgrading to 14.0...if i wait about a full 30 seconds, it unfreezes. this also only happens the FIRST time i open a IND document. if i save, close and reopen, it doesn't do it.

This is a known bug. Until they fix it, the workaround is to turn off the Control Panel or, if you need it, disable Character Font in the Control Panel Settings.
