    This is a really serious issue/problem!
    Those who makes catalogs and other publications, where it's important to preserve colors will understand me.
    Customers might express their displeasure with incorrect color reproduction.
    And this may lead to unpleasant consequences!

    Please upgrade to the new InDesign 14.0 from your Creative Cloud Application.

    If you are unable to see the update yet, click on the menu (three dots) on the top right corner of Creative cloud app and click on “Check for App Updates”.

    Greetings

    When You asked me to share a file to study it, I began to prepare the file (delete unnecessary pages and all unnecessary) and in the process of preparation I discovered this.
    As soon as I deleted the master page the problem was gone.
    Eyedropper again working correctly.
    I returned to the moment before deletion and began to step by step delete elements from the template page.
    I found out that after removing the transparent box from the template, the eyedropper took the right samples again.
    Thus, the “wrong” work of the eyedropper turned out to be correct, but it simply took a sample from the transparent Box, which was on the OVER text layer.

    Maybe my observation will help someone

    Hello All,

    Thank you for your patience all this while.
    This issue is now fixed in the latest update (Id 14.0.1) of InDesign CC.
    If you are unable to see the update notification yet, open the menu (three dots) from the top-right of Creative Cloud desktop application and click on ‘Check For App Updates’.

    Once the update button is shown against InDesign CC, click on the button to update your InDesign to Id 14.0.1 for the fix of the issue.
    Do let us know in the comments, if you face any problem with the new update.

    Empirically I determined that the problem with the slowdown of InDesign is especially strong when there are text boxes in the publication with automatic adjustment in height or width, or height + width.
    so even with transparencies

    Fix of the issue is now available in InDesign’s latest November’17 update.
    Please upgrade to the latest version InDesign CC 13.0.1 for the fix.

    If you are unable to see the update, go to Creative Cloud application and click on the context menu on the top right and click on Check for App Updates.

    Hi
    I have a similar problem with a eyedropper.
    the text is patterned normally,
    but when I take a color sample with a eyedropper and then transfer it to a new object - the new object is deleted, disappears from his place

    I tried to go into the properties of the eyedropper (double click on the eyedropper)
    after that I turned off the lower parameter
