1. Profiles equal to the Output-Intend get lost on PDF-Export

   When exporting a PDF all profiles equal to the Output-Intend (which in my case is the Document-Colorspace PSO Coated V3) get lost when exporting.

   I have created a small test-file with an PSO Coated V3 Image and an ISO Coated V2 Image.

   When Exporting as PDF X4 with Output-Intend Set to PSO Coated V3 the Image that IS PSO Coated V3 looses its profile and the same for the ISO Coated V2 when the Output-Intend is set to that.

   This is horrible for Colormanagement. I've been in contact with "Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG" and they suggested to report this to Adobe as a bug.

   They way it is you can not differenciate between images that don't have a profile and images that already have the correct profile. As a result all images get converted again in prepress - even those that already are in the correct profile.

2. Missing color in PDF from InDesign

   I have an InDesign file with a placed PSD file in it, which contains two spot colors. When I save the file as a PDF out of InDesign, only one of the two spot channels is visible.

   I'm running the latest versions of InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat. To reproduce, open the attached InDesign file and save as a PDF. The resulting PDF should show a yellow and blue spot, but only the blue is visible. (The PDF generated during packaging also exhibits the problem.)

3. copy something with a shadow from one document moves the shadows randomly

   in the version 21.0 of Indesign when you copy something with a shadow from one document into another and moves it the shadows move to random positions. Workaround: You need to select them manually deactivate and activate them to get them back at the right position.

   Indesign-Dateien die älter als 2 Jahre sind lassen sich nicht direkt von einem externen Firmen-Server öffnen. Sie müssen immer erst vom Firmen-Server auf die lokale Festplatte kopiert werden, von dort geöffnet und dann auf dem Firmen-Server überspeichert werden. Ein nerviger Workaround.

5. InDesign document window dimensions

   When clicking the green "maximize" button on mac, the document window goes over to real full screen mode and is not accessible without dismounting my work space to get back to the green button.
   Also, when opening multiple files, the window does not stop at screen docked palettes or the dock like in the versions before. I have to manually move and resize the window every time.

6. Printing doubled sided without computer settings being changed

   Mac computer using InDesign 2024 version 19.5.5 has select documents print double sided when single sided is preferred. Computer settings for single sided printing was check and was set for single sided. Printer was serviced to make sure it was not a driver issue and driver was up to date and printing correctly on other jobs.

7. palettes stay closed

   Our entire department recently did the newest update to Adobe InDesign (21.0)
   Steps to reproduce the issues: Close document and open another one

   Every single time I open a new file (which is many times per day) the pallets do not pop open. The workspace still looks like it should and when I click on a pallet to use it, it highlights like it would if it was popped open for use but nothing happens.

   Expected result: Pallets pop open so I can make changes on my file
   Actual result: Pallets highlight like they will open but actually stay closed and do nothing

   The only way I have found to make this work is to reset the workspace (whether it's one you have saved as your own or just using a default). EVERY. SINGLE. TIMEEE PLEASE FIX THIS

8. Workspace resets every time I open (InDesign 2026)

   On the new InDesign (v21.0) all of my workspaces have been reset and aren't saving properly every time I open a new document. I even set up my docked tabs and tab groups and saved them to a NEW workspace within a fresh 2026 file, and it reset to a default state next time it's opened. It seems to ignore all of the tools I've chosen to remove from their tab groups and opens with all of the default tools within those tab groups.

   The screenshot with all of the icons is what all of my workspaces revert to upon opening InDesign 2026, while the other screenshot is what I've saved my workspace to include.

   On the new InDesign (v21.0) all of my workspaces have been reset and aren't saving properly every time I open a new document. 9. placing illustrator images

   One of my students was having an issue when placing a native AI file inside InDesign 21.0 that the graphics became distorted. His image was not very complex. He had a some columns and rows of circles that display and print in a totally different way then they are in the Illustrator file, and some white shapes he had on top of a solid color area disappeared. Everything is fine in Indesign when it is first placed, but if he goes back into Illustrator makes a change and then updates the modified link, that is when the change occurs. The only work around we found was saving the Illustrator file as an older version of Illustrator and then using that file in InDesign. I've never seen anything like this.

10. imported mp4 showing as lines and not allowing poster frame

    When importing an MP4 the frame no longer shows the first frame image, it shows diagonal blue lines. A poster frame can also no longer be set.

    I've tried opening an old Indesign file that had an MP4 with a poster frame set and reimport the exact same MP4 next to it and it seems that the original MP4 works as expected, however the newly imported version of the same file doesn't show an image of the video and a poster frame cannot be set.

    Please find an example screenshot of this uploaded, showing the original MP4 working as expected (on the right, imported before the current version of InDesign), and the same file imported in the same way showing only a box with diagonal lines and no ability to set a poster frame (on the left of the uploaded screenshot).

    The version of InDesign is 21.0.

12. Adobe InDesign 2026 doesn't play well with 2025

    It's absolutely ridiculous to me that the 2025 version and 2026 version are incompatible with each other. I can't open old files easily with the new software. I can't drag and drop items from an older file to a new file. The functionality is absolutely awful. Do better.

13. InDesign v 21.0 packaging bug hung up on idml file

    I created a document in the previous version of InDesign (v 20.5.1) and recently converted it to the new version to test things out. I was unable to package the design files from this file, it always seemed to get stuck on creating pdf and idml file and would completely freeze the program. It's definitely creating the files because the folder is there, but the idml file is only 1kb in size, so it's not being created properly. I converted the file back to the previous version and packaged and it did it with zero issues. Something different is happening with this new version.

15. Clicking icons (sometimes) does not open the palette

    Version: Indesign 21.0
    Expected result: clicking the icon opens the palette
    Actual result: the palette does not open, even though the icon has a "clicked" appearance
    Steps to reproduce: I haven't figured out, it seems to happen randomly... but restarting the program fixes it

    Note:
    The problem affects the entire column of icons shown in the screenshot, not just the clicked one.

16. Review links broke after InDesign updated to version 21

    After sending an InDesign document out for review and others made comments, InDesign updated to version 21. Now the links are broke and the comments in the review are inaccessible.

18. Can no longer expand palettes to full window screen height

    After upgrading to ID 2026, I can no longer expand my palettes to the full height of my screen. In the attached screen shot, the palette is as tall as I can make it. This seems to be the case for all palettes, not just layers. My screen resolution is 2560 x 1440.

19. collapsed panels on the right side won't open

    version 21.0 ME
    collapsed panels on the right side don't always open when clicked on, it may work for a while but then stops until I reset my workspace, then it works for a while and then stops again.
    I tried creating a new workspace but still happens.
    The same thing happens to my coworker.

20. Writing in Arabic is not possible in the new version

    In the new version, it looks that writing in Arabic is not possible (the letters are not connected). Is this a bug? I tried to reinstall the new version and I already have my other Adobe products and account set to "English support Arabic" in languages
