1. Book/TOC

   For InDesign 2024: 19.3x64, there are problems with the TOC 'update Furniture'. After page a few pages the 'Running Headers' disappear from the page while it should be placed. With InDesign 2023, this was working, so this is a bug with the latest InDesign version.

2. I can't create my Composite Font and all of my C.F are missing

   Latest Version, Korean ver.

   Text > Composite Font > New > (making composite font) > save > ok > loading > pop up that i don't have access rights

   And When i open my works that i made with my personal composite font, pop up that indesign fail to make composite font (my composite font's name).

   I made a composite font and used it well, but when I turned on my computer and turned on InDesign, all the composite fonts were gone.
   Therefore, I tried to recreate the composite font, but the above window popped up and I couldn't use the composite font at all.
   Even though I created it from a new document, a window like the one above popped up and the composite font could not be saved.
   Please solve it as soon as possible.

3. Mac OS. The floating windows for Text Wrap, Paragraph, etc. go blank over time.

   Mac OS 14.3.1. InDesign 19.3. The floating windows for Text Wrap, Paragraph, and possibly others go blank over time. The only way to fix it is to quit, and relaunch while deleting preferences. Then preferences have to be redone. This has been happening for several years, over several operating systems, many InDesign versions, and at least two different iMacs.

4. Damaged capitals

   In Design 19.3 x64
   After pouring in an editable file (MS Word 2010), where the capitals were in the footnotes in the names of the author(s) and editor(s) the capitals did not include the last letter of the last name or the last two letters.
   Earlier versions (3-4 updates) worked fine.
   Selecting the author's name and including capitals does not help. Further the last letter (or two) are not capitals. You have to mark the name and a comma (sometimes even a space) to make the full name capitals.
   It takes more time, more attention to correct all the footnotes. This is irritating.

5. "GREP Load Find with selected text" is incomplete on macOS

   version: any OS: any macOS
   Edit menu > Keyboard Shortcuts > Text and Tables > “GREP Load Find with selected text” also “GREP Load Find and Find Next instance”

   If the selected text contains meta characters that are escaped with a backslash, such as "End of Paragraph" (\r) or tab characters (\t), they are all captured as ¥r and ¥t.
   I’m forced to retype the ¥ into a \ before starting the search.
   On Windows, it works without retyping.

   “Forced line break" (\n) is not a problem as a function, but the display is corrupted, which makes me uneasy.

   It is a pity because it is a very useful function.

6. Text Variables Do Not Work with Auto-Size Text Boxes

   When I create a text box that has auto-size (width only) enabled and then insert a text variable (e.g. "modification date"), the entire text variable is collapsed into the width of a single character. It is as if the dynamic width of the text variable causes a bug in the calculation of auto-size, such that the width cannot be determined, and so it all collapses into the width of a single character instead, with all of the characters rendered one on top of the other.

   Very disappointing bug, because dynamic text variables and auto-size are a natural fit for one another.

7. Stop stealing focus

   Please find a way to make InDesign stop stealing focus every time it does something. It does it 3 separate times on launch, every PDF export, and every time a file finished opening. Some files are 100MB+ and can take time to load, so sitting around waiting for it is not something people with work to do can afford to do all the time, and getting focus stolen in the middle of an email is not a good way to maintain workflow. It's unnecessary behavior, please fix it. This bug is present on 6 of 6 machines we use, spanning Windows 10 and 11 and 2 versions of InDesign (one machine is for development purposes).

8. Autosize height does not work on threaded text frames

   Autosize does not work on threaded text frames. Why not? You have a frame break that tells you where the box ends. Can you fix this?

9. PlaceGun does not have reference to idms textframe

   Hi,

   I'm trying to place a textframe from an idms file into an indesign document. The actual loadPlaceGun() operation seems to work fine as I'm able to paste the textframe on the page. However, I also want to have a reference to that textframe. I was trying to accomplish this by using

   placeGun.pageItems.everyItem().getElements(), but it doesn't return any elements. I find this odd because I'm using the same method when inserting images and it works fine, so I'm not sure what the issue is. 10. fit frame to content no longer working at all

    fit frame to content no longer working as top toolbar click icon shortcut or pulldown or help since recent sonoma update to 14.4.1

    already restarted numerous times. recently had to start over for prefs/settings -- that is a waste of time & ridiculous to have to do it every time.

11. Application frame not re-aligning after screen change.

    Waking my MacBook after disconnecting from a secondary (and larger) screen, often leaves my Application frame in the previous size. And due to the fact that this formerly connected screen is much larger than my MacBook, it leaves the frame in a size and postion which makes it impossible to fetch, resize, or drag it to a hot area to force it to re-arrange properly.

    Resetting the workspace, or switching application frame off/on, doesn't help. I have to Quit/Restart InDesign to let it realign its frame to the new screen size.

    InDesign version 19.3, MacOS 12.6.2.

12. Right-to-left paragraph orientation causes problems

    Hello and thanks in advance to the respondents.
    For several months now I have been suffering from a very annoying problem in InDesign and I have not been able to find a solution.
    When I set the writing direction from right to left (using the edit menu - right to left), the arrow keys on the right and left keyboard stop responding as they should, and instead of each click the cursor moves one character to the right or left, clicking on them jumps the cursor to the beginning or end of the line.
    The problem only exists when I select the "Visual" option in the above menu.
    Of course, in my Adobe Creative settings, English is set to support Hebrew, and I also noticed that I am opening a text window of the Middle East type, and in the paragraph settings itself, the direction is set from right to left.

13. Documents not showing when changing screens.

    When disconnecting my MacBook Pro from my Apple Studio Display open documents are not showing on the laptop screen - only blank grey screen. I can mark its content but nothing but bounding boxes are visible. Have to shut down all documents and start all over.

14. creative cloud libraries bug

    Hi, in indesign creative cloud libraries is borked. In each library only the top level will show and only four items from that level, all folders within a library show as empty. True for all libraries. They all load fine in illustrator/photoshop etc.

    Latest version as of 27/03/2024. Windows 11.

    reinstalled, reset prefs etc. Not helping issue only present in indesign, seriously impeding work flow. please fix

15. current page marker font malfunction if 3 digits or more

    The third digit and beyond in the "current page number" marker is distorted in certain fonts, and almost appears to be an old style number (shifted down and squished), even when I set the font's Figure Style to "Proportional Lining" under Paragraph Style > OpenType Features > Figure Style. In fact, it also seems to do it in automated footnote reference numbers, where control of the Figure Style doesn’t seem to work either. However, when I just type out the number using the same style, it appears correct. This issue appears to be in Adobe InDesign 2024 (19.3), but when I got back to ID 2023 (18.5.2) the issue disappears.

    This is a HUGE issue because I am a book designer, and most of the books I design are go into 3 digit page numbers or more -- and if I can't control the look of the font, then it forces me to go back to ID 2023 to make it work. It doesn't appear to be an issue in all fonts, but for the ones I tested, it seems to be in ones that have Figure Style options under the OpenType options (such as Proportional vs. Tabular, Lining vs. Old Style, etc.)

    1. Version: Adobe InDesign 19.3 (v. Adobe InDesign 18.5.2)
    2. Steps to reproduce the issues: Create a document that is length of 100 pages or more. Add a "current page marker" on the parent page. (I made an example on pages 208-209 in the attached documents. Apply a paragraph style for a folio that has a font that has options. (I used “Adelle” from the Adobe Fonts library for my examples.) It seems like anything above 3 digits, the third digit and beyond are distorted or don’t seem to be the correct Figure Style.
    3. Expected result: I expect to be able to control the Figure Style of an OpenType font within the paragraph style and not have this distorted character on the third digit and beyond in automated numbering – both the current page marker and the automated footnote reference.
    4. Actual result: Distorted digits anything the third digit or beyond, even when the OpenType > Figure Style settings are changed.
    5. I have attached 2 test files and a screenshot, one from 2023 where everything appears normal and the other from 2024 (see pages 208-209 in both docs for an example of the difference).

    I don't seem to be able to upload my test InDesign files -- so if somebody could please help I can send them to you.

16. Exporting a page to an existing PDF file

    Hello,
    I've been using Indesign for over 20 years and I often come across the following problem: you're working on a large catalogue, you export it as a PDF and after proofreading, a page needs to be corrected. You apply the correction and export the whole catalogue again, overwriting the previous one, or (another method) you export just the corrected page and import it into the PDF using Acrobat tools.

    It might be interesting to be able to tell Indesign to export only the corrected page and to integrate it directly into the existing PDF in order to save time either exporting or manipulating the page with Acrobat.

19. .svg library assets are not supported anymore at version 19.3

    Elements from the library with the .svg file format are no longer supported in version 19.3. In Illustrator the assates still works.
