1. Hebrew Vowel Points Incorrectly Positioned

   When keying (or importing) Hebrew text, InDesign often misplaces vowel points when two or more vowel points are attached to a single base character unless the base character and vowel points are keyed in a specific order. I don't totally understand it, but it has something to do with Unicode normalization. Microsoft Word gets around this problem, but I can't say how. It would be nice, however, if InDesign could get around it, too.

   One Hebrew font, SBL Hebrew, has written Unicode features (?) to prevent the normalization problem, but most fonts cannot do this on their own in InDesign. Times New Roman, for example, sets fine in Word, but the same file in InDesign shows vowel points displaced. The user guide for SBL Hebrew (available easily online) explains the problem better than I can.

2. Track changes slow

   The track changes feature is very slow. If I click on »accept and search for next« (sorry, I’m running a German locale of InDesign) in a long document (100+ pp.), I’ll have to wait for the next tracked change.

3. Handtool Spacebar not working (CC2020)

   When ending Sleep Mode on my MacBook Pro, the Handtool via the spacebar in InDesign does not work nor in any other Adobe Application. No other Application open besides Mail. Restart Applications doesn´t help. Just a whole Restart of the Computer.

   Happens with macOS Mojave (10.14.6)

4. Keyboard Shortcuts dont work often with InDesign

   Using windows 10 - InDesign 2020

   Keyboard shortcuts often will not work, forcing me to minimize or restart the program to get them to work again. Very annoying.

   shortcuts that I am using for example( W to enter workspace mode, Ctrl-Z for undoing and even Ctrl-S to save)

   Adobe, stop adding features until you fix the issues that are present. especially ones that have been around for years or months.

5. Unable to remove External Plug-ins

   Third party plugins were used in the received indesign file for further edit. Unable to remove those plugins and getting an error message while packaging the file.

6. Bug: Ligatures cause inconsistent font weight in exported PDFs

   PDFs exported from InDesign and viewed in Chrome display inconsistent font weights, and the issue appears to be linked in some way to ligatures.

   In my own testing, I have found the following, but I am not entirely confident that this is a complete picture of the problem:

   • Ligatures turned on everywhere = lighter text
   • Ligatures turned off everywhere = bolder text
   • Ligatures turned on in some places = inconsistent font weight line by line. Not certain if there is a regular pattern to these inconsistencies.

   Issue seems to present only when exported PDFs are viewed in Chrome, but I have not tested extensively. Issue seems to persist regardless of any PDF export settings.

   Tested most thoroughly with Roboto font, but upon quick checks the issue appears to occur with others, too.

   Issue is most noticeable with white text on a colored background, however it is more subtly noticeable with a white background, as well. Issue occurs in documents with no transparencies, so that does not appear to be a root cause (I mention as the only other reported examples I could find of inconsistent font weight in PDF exports were apparently related to having transparent objects such as shadows and PNG images in the document).

   I believe I have found examples of this issue in InDesign-generated PDFs found on the web, as well (e.g. attached GoToWebinar PDF, pp. 2–3: note how lines including the ti ligature are lighter than others). As a result, I don't think the issue is specific to my machine/installation.

   PDFs exported from InDesign and viewed in Chrome display inconsistent font weights, and the issue appears to be linked in some way to ligatures.

7. nDesign 2020 fonts don't work

   When working with InDesign 2020, fonts that are installed on the system, go missing - I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE and its very frustrating and wastes a lot of time -

9. Lost information in Links and Color/swatches Indesign 2020

   The information in the windows for Links and Color/swatches (Think it is the name in English) have disappeared. I have tried to restart program, restart computer and various other adjustment, but no result. The information does not show. I have both color and links in my work.

10. Hyperlink shows up grey in hyperlinks panel despite the URL NOT working

    When using the hyperlinks panel, links will show up grey when the URL is non existent, they don't show up as red.
    The screen shot shows group 42 which is grey, when it should be a red error.

11. some lines in textbook can no longer be read, whole line blacked out in Indesign 15.1.2

    After updating to InDesign 15.1.2
    some lines in some text boxes are blacked out, text cannot be read anymore
    I used Arial. A few other fonts show the text, but do not remove black line of unused text.
    I can make text white, it will then show up on black background.

13. spellchecker causes InDesign to crash

    I've had this occur across multiple files; some new, some old.
    I cannot stop the behaviour from happening despite cache and com. dumps, prefernence resets, etc. - whenever I run Spellchecker InDesign disappears/crashes. I'm losing money constantly as I'm a designer who outputs a lot of multi page brochures, books, magazines, etc. and my efficiency has ground to a halt.

14. 'Background tasks' que updating fonts and so cannot PDF files

    I cannot PDF as in the 'Background tasks' que its updating fonts and I cannot stop it doing this and have to restart InDesign. Sort it out please. Also Adobe fonts are often not accessible and as a Studio we have been told to avoid using them.

    Column guides don't keep the gutters consistent. When changing the guides from 2 to 3 columns with a gutter at 4mm the gutter changes to 4.33mm, WHY???

16. PDF comment panel resets when moving back and forth to the doc

    The website is too awkward to search quickly, if this has been posted/mentioned before, so apologies if this has been covered.

    I'm working on a catalogue I have PDF Comments on, and I'm sourcing content from other ID files. When flicking back and forth, the PDF Comment panel resets back to the top and opens up each page tab, after I've minimised that page, because it's so long.

    It's making it really annoying to go from the cat to a doc, come back, and have to scroll down dozens of pages' worth of comments, to get back to where I was.

17. Better Trackpad

    Hey. This may sound weird but I would love for the trackpad on my windows laptop to work the way it does on my mac since they've come such a long way. I bet users would appreciate the effort from your side.

18. Y coordinates incorrect when pasting objects on pages with different heights

    I have several pages with different heights. If I paste an object using "paste in place" from page to page, they do not paste in the correct Y location from the original. However, the X location is correct.

19. escape key works intermittently

    On macOS, escape key works intermittently to close any dialog box, such as placed image, export, or save as. For decades, I have been flying along using the escape key to dismiss dialog boxes—until these latest versions. SO frustrating. Please fix!

20. Indesign 15.1.2

    Depuis hier, mes raccourcis clavier "dupliquer/déplacer" (fleche+option+cliquer glisser) ne fonctionne plus.
    De même, déplacer un objet ou le faire tourner avec la touche majuscule pour qu'ils se déplace selon un axe horizontal/vertical ou qu'il tourne selon 45° ne fonctionne plus :-(
    Je ne trouve pas pourquoi...
    J'ai la dernière version OS et Adobe..
