1. find/change missing from menu (PC)

   I am using Adobe inDesign CC 2018 on a PC and since the most recent update (March 2018), I have lost the Find/Change option from the Edit menu. I have searched all over in case it was moved somewhere else, and also tried different workspaces, to no avail. Old document, new, it doesn't make a difference. Where did this go? I use it all the time. :( The keyboard shortcuts related to Find/Change don't work either. (Spellcheck isn't working correctly either--I posted a separate bug report about that. Are these related issues?)

2. Placed objects with alt-clicking land beyond the pasteboard

   InDesign CC 2018 13.1
   MacOS High Sierra
   When placing multiple artboards or pages (from .ai or pdf files) and alt-clicking on a page, placed objects try to "jump" it seems on the previous spread (when it exists). Please see the attached file.

3. export to text creates errors

   When I export a story to text, the resulting file contains errors:
   • Extra ¶ break when text starts a new column in InDesign
   • No space when there was a non-standard space in InDesign, i.e. ⅓ space, en space,....

4. [ID-4209061][Document Specific] InDesign crashes while opening idml exported from .indd file

   Method:
   - Open the attached "2017-05-16CapoSlowFlowengl.indd" document
   - Export the indd document to idml
   - Open the exported idml

   Result: InDesign crashes on opening idml

   Expected: InDesign should not crash on opening idml

5. renumbering pages during optimization

   I combined single pdf pages into a new binder. Labeled page numbers, and some with prefix. Saved it out as a optimized file and the numbers are now relabeling themselves. Tends to happen when I have created a prefix in the page labels. Never happened before Adobe CC 2018.

6. The numbered portion of a heading in its own frame cannot be included in conditional text

   Windows 10 InDesign version 13.1 x64 (CC up-to-date)
   I created a sequentially numbered head using bullets and numbering in Style editor. Placed the head in its own frame at the top of a page (# mark at the end of the head). Selected the head (variously using click-drag and 4-click) Only the directly entered text highlighted - not the numbered portion, not the # symbol. I applied a text condition. When the condition was made invisible, the directly-entered text disappeared as expected, but the numbered portion of the text ("Section 9:") did not. Numerous attempts to select the numbered portion and the # symbol did not work. I even tried selecting the entire frame. I finally had to link that frame to the following text frame and give the heading a paragraph marker rather than a story-end marker. That allowed the text to disappear as expected -- but the side-effect was that the following text "rose up" into the area of the original text frame. Now I have to come up with a solution to prevent that happening when the condition that shows the heading is turned off.

7. En Dashes turned into a Russian Cyrillic Small letter Yeru

   On Feb. 19, 2018, I worked on a document in InDesign CC 13.0 (Mac). I saved the document and all was good. Yesterday, March 28, 2018, I made some edits to the same document using CC 13.1 (Mac). But when a co-worker reviewed it, they noticed that the En Dashes (Unicode: 2013) I had used as a Bullet character had turned into a Russian glyph (Cyrillic Small letter Yeru, Unicode: 044B).

   The bulleted section of the document was not revised between Feb. 19th and yesterday. The edits I made were in other sections of the document. Nor did I change the paragraph or character styles in any way or change the type face/fonts.

   The other difference between the Feb. version and yesterday's version of the document in that I had installed the CC updates to InDesign: 13.1.

   This seems to be a bug.

8. Numbering and section options

   If you have multiple types of numbering options in one document, (say using Roman for your intro pages, and then convert to regular numbers for the main document) you can't change them even though the option is not grayed out in the Numbering and Sections Options dialogue box. If you click on it, it just reverts back to what the document started as and won't select that other numbering option.

   Exact same document, and I (on 13.1) cannot change it, but my co-worker who has 13.0.1 can.

10. Datamerge Slow

    The datamerge feature is unacceptable. I am creating about 100 nametags for a small event, and am merging data from a Tab Delimited Text file (CSV files DO NOT work apparently). I even replaced the 3x4 nametag graphics (.ai) with a frame to minimize graphics usage. I am only including first and last names, and it can’t even merge that!!! Any suggestions or is this feature just complete garbage?

    I’m on a late 2014 15” MB Pro with NVIDIA graphics card, running High Sierra with APFS.

11. InDesign 2018 can't differentiate between two similiar font names

    Our company works with two fonts called "CalloutTS" and "CalloutTS2". They are similiar, but not the same. For years everything worked fine. But since the CC 2018 update, InDesign can't differentiate between these two fonts anymore. You can now only select "CalloutTS". But depending on which computer your working on it randomly shows either the glyphs of "CalloutTS" or of "CalloutTS2". InDesign reads the font name of "CalloutTS2" now also as "CalloutTS" and can't decide which font to show. It seems like a simple digit isn't enough anymore to differentiate between two font names. This is a huge problem because the fonts are really similiar but some characters are totally different.
    The same problem occurs in Illustrator and Photoshop CC 2018.
    When I switch back to CC 2017 everything works fine but it's not possible for everyone involved to switch back to the old version.

12. finding font instance

    Using the Find Font menu utility, I highlight the missing font then click Find Next, which many times does not work even if there are many instances of the font. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Very frustrating.

15. Placement cropping set to "Art" when relinking an Indd file to a pdf

    1. A bug in Indesign 13.0.1. Mac OSX

    2. Place an Indd document inside one.
       Relink all instances of said link to a pdf file created from the linked Indd file.
       The placement option changes to "Art" regardless of what has been the last option set when placing pdf:s.

    3. Expected to the pdf's retain cropping to media as is the case with Indd files OR retain cropping from last set option in the Place pdf dialog.

    4. Pdfs cropped to "Art".

    We had a booklet that the client wanted to swap the position of two ads. I copied the ad from one page pasted onto the desired page and vice versa with the other ad. At some point those ads resized inside their boxes to 114% which caused information to be cut off in the ad. The ad was given to us with a bleed and crop marks which is what we cropped out with the frame. The 114% that the ad enlarged to is the amount of space the bleed and crop marks would take up. We do have the Preserve Image Dimensions when Relinking box is checked in the preferences. Not sure if this is a bug but we have over 100 links in this file and only two had this issue.

17. Font appearance issues in Id 2018

    I have recently purchase a new Mac. Running High Sierra 10.13.2 and Id 2018. Any time I open a file with Helvetica in it the font is garbled. Is this one of the issues that people have been experiencing with the upgrade to High Sierra? How can this be fixed?

    I can't downgrade my operating system as the computer is brand new and I need to use this computer for work. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Can't get a drop down of all my fonts in Find Font- Replaced with Font Family.
    I only see minion pro and can only select a font by clicking on minion pro and using the up and down arrows to navigate.

19. multiple display drop down issue

    When using two displays extended vertically rather than horizontally (eg, Display 1 arranged to be above Display 2 rather than to the left or right of), if a dialog drop down is longer than can be fit on one of the displays and is positioned in screenspace such that it should spill onto the other display, it is cut off at the edge instead. Screenshot attached. Running latest OS X and latest InDesign CC. Only occurs in dialogs: parent window drop downs don't try to extend beyond the active display.

20. LAYERS

    Hi, dragging objects to another layer with the small rectangle in the layerpanel is not secure... it seems that the hotspot or trigger is out of range..
    When i click-drag at the left-side of the filled rectangle it works sometimes but is not easy way to order objects like before.
