  1. Self-closes or crashes when computer sleeps

    InDesign 15.1.1
    Windows 10
    After putting computer to "Sleep", InDesign is closed upon wakening the computer. Sometimes says "crashed" (10% of the time). Other Adobe applications are still open where left off.

  2. Mouse very slow during mail merge

    When exporting to a PDF using Indesign Mail Merge, the mouse is very slow, even if in other programs. That makes the computer unusable during export of large PDF's.

    I found that only when the Windows Task Manager is on the front, the mouse acts normal again, but when I the Task Manager loses focus, the mouse is slow again.

    We have this problem on our Windows PC's. On my Mac it works fine.

    We use the latest Indesign (15.0.1)

  4. Background Tasks stuck on "Cancelling"

    I was exporting multiple PDFs that were not exporting properly. When I figured out they were stuck, I manually cancelled the export in "Background Tasks". Both tasks have been "Cancelling" for two days. I cannot close the files nor can I close InDesign.

  5. Links panel

    When you highlight a link in the document, it used to highlight the corresponding image in the links panel, so you could easily edit or replace, instead of having to scroll through the links panel trying to identify the asset from the thumbnail. A minor workflow thing but it makes a difference. Would love to have this feature back in.

  6. InDesign CC2019: Mouse cursor is quickly flashing whenever moving placed objects

    The mouse cursor is quickly flashing and lagging whenever moving placed objects and it makes it really hard to click/drag/edit the image

  7. Scaling of arrowheads on paths is so wrong

    If I put an arrow head (or any other of the predefined startings/endings) on a path and scale it, it barlely changes the actuall size of the starting ending, even with crazy huge precentage changes, like 1% and 200%. See screenshot from InDesign CC 2019.

  8. Text wraps when replacing a swatch

    If I replace a swatch the text wraps at one place. It happens just with one color in the document... I doesn't matter which swatch I use for replacing... I never seen this before. I image how risky that is when you're replacing a swatch in a large project like a catalog and than somewhere in the document text is wraping...

  9. File rename

    InDesign 13.0 running Mac OX 10.12.6

    If and INDD file is renamed in the Finder when it's open in InDesign, saving the file will cause an error dialog to appear saying "Changes cannot be save as InDesign can no longer access the '[filepath:newfilename]' file. Place the file in the original location and try again." This error message appears whether trying to do a simple save or even Save As.

    This error appears even though both the window header and the file name in the error message both reflect the changed (not the original) file name.

    Hello All,

    Thank you for your support. The issue is now fixed in the latest update of InDesign.
    Please upgrade to the new InDesign 14.0 from your Creative Cloud Application.

    If you are unable to see the update yet, click on the menu (three dots) on the top right corner of Creative cloud app and click on “Check for App Updates”.

  10. Cannot use to gray or white when using Presentation view

    Gray or white background not available when using Presentation view in 2017 CC InDesign. I've tried using multiple combinations of "W" and control, option, command, etc. to no avail.

  11. Problem with *.wmf files in InDesign 16.3

    I've got a file with many equations created in MathType, exported as *.wmf files and placed in Adobe In Design. Until today everything was fine. But after a new update to version 16.3 all my equations were destroyed. In the attachment I'm sending the same page exported to PDF before and after update. Please help me.

  12. windows long paths not supported

    InDesign fails to open or place files with long paths in Windows. The "Long Paths Enabled" registry setting is enabled (i.e. it is set to 1). The problem affects several functions:

    1. From Bridge, Place > In Indesign causes "Script Alert: Error: Expected a reference to an existing File/Folder"

    2. DataMerge in InDesign: images with long paths are skipped, i.e. aren't merged. There is no error message.

    3. From InDesign. I cannot manually place a file with a long path through the “Place” dialog box. The dialog box will display the folder and thumbnails, but when I click the image to place it,…

  14. workspace problems in Indd 2020

    I am working on two major projects and have created my custom workspace that gives me the panels needed for these projects. After saving the changes made for the day and closing InDesign, upon opening Indd for the next session, the work space has been set to Essentials, even though the files that require my s=custom workspace are open. I go to the workspace menu and change the work space to my working workspace and it does change, but the menu still says Essentials.

  15. Adobe Fonts wont load

    Hello,

    While creating a document I was trying to discover a new font. I clicked Fonts > Find More and where a list of adobe fonts usually pops up, I got nothing. I tried creating a new text box, signing in and out of adobe, and closing / opening the document.

    Attached please find a screen grab of the issue.

    I'd love an assist if possible.

  17. Hyperlinks not detected

    The "Convert URLs to Hyperlinks" function in the hyperlinks panel is not working properly in CC 2018. Not all the links are detected. There doesn’t seem to be any logic in which links are detected and which are not, it seems very random.

    I tried out with various hyperlinks and the function is working fine for me.

    Please try it out with the latest release and even then if you encountering the same issue,
    please provide sample documents with which you are facing the issue or just add a small video (on WeTransfer/Youtube/Dropbox) and share the link.

    Please do mention your machine configuration like OS, Locale.

  18. Anchored frame looses the XML tag information as soon as anchor is released/anchor point is moved forward.

    Steps to reproduce

    1. Create an anchored text/graphic frame with some inline text/image. Tag the frame with some XML Tag (say 'tag1').

    2. Now release the anchor.

    Expected output
    - On releasing the anchor, there should be no changes in the XML tag on frame.

    Actual output
    - On releasing the anchor, the frame gets untagged.

    Additional note: Similar thing happens when anchor is moved forward to another position in inline text. In this case also, frames gets untagged

  19. »Create outlines« of text on a circle path is making weird things

    v 17.0.1
    Intel Mac
    Big Sur

    If you have a longer text written on a circle path and try to »Create Outlines« it fails at one area: The text gets smaller and is kind of turned around.

    This only happens with longer text: Short text seems to work ok.

  20. Can't Rename Objects in Layers Panel on MacOS Big Sur

    Adobe Indesign 16.1, macOS Big Sur 11.2.3

    I cannot rename objects or layers in the layers panel. I've attached a video of the typical triple-click method and all you see is a quick flash of the editing mode but it is never actually able to be edited.
