1. Buttons do not work in Indesign

   Certain buttons aren't working in Indesign. E.g. I can't click into the preflight panel, or the pop-up comes up for a millisecond, too fast for me to click into it. This is happening with the Preflight panel, the 'align to' button in the Alignment panel, and other toggles like it. Incredibly frustrating. I've tried restarting but the issue persists.

2. Don't provide the GPU Performance menu for Windows

   It's outrageous that a giant corporation doesn't have support to GPU Performance for windows, when we sign the creative cloud plan doesn't shows that works differently in each operational system. Please, develop this functionality as soon as possible!!

5. Can't dismiss preferences if app is hidden. Mac m1 pro

   As in the title, Bug: Open preferences. Hide indesign. Can't dismiss preferences. This is reproducible.
   Solution: allow preferences to be dismissed (even) if app is hidden.

6. 18.1 Workspace resets to 'essentials'

   I'm working with Indesign 18.1 (issue also has occured with other older versions).

   My custom workspace utilizes a two-screen setup, one screen for the actual layout and the other screen for all the menus/palettes etc.

   Everytime I close out of a document and reopen a new document, the custom workspace resets from my custom workspace to a generic one-screen workspace. In previous versions, that reverted workspace was 'essentials' but with 1.81 it seems to be a partially custom / nondescript workspace....most likely because I went and deleted the 'essentials' workspace here:

   /Applications/Adobe InDesign 2023/Presets/InDesign_Workspaces

   I am working with a lot of different files everyday so this constant "reset, reapply the workspace" process is a real chore.

   I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app, I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling/updating to the current version from an older version also.

   I'm working with Indesign 18.1 (issue also has occured with other older versions).

7. Random display issue

   ID on a Apple M1 Max (OS 12.6) occasionally and randomly makes crazy displays. It is resolved when I quit and reopen the file, but still…

   First image is what the document should look like. Second image is what it becomes. Kinda cool, but not my intent.

   InDesign should have the same fit to window or 100% functions as Illustrator or Photoshop.
   The only thing that does work on the extended numeric keypad is the + and - keys.

9. Frozen Blue Banner about Pantone changes

   The temporary blue banner alerting me to the changes to Pantone's integration with Indesign has frozen in place partially off the screen and cannot be dismissed. I haven't restarted as I'm in the middle of a task and the functionality remains, it's just overlaid with the banner near the bottom.

11. zoom with touchpad windows

    I would like you to make it possible to zoom with the fingers on the touchpad in Windows. It works in illustrator, but not in Indesign, at a PC, in Windows (only on Mac). Could you make this possible? It gives so much better control over the working process

12. Selection extends in wrong direction - all other thext editors are doing well, except InDesign

    There is a very annoying behavior in InDesign - when using the Shift+Arrow keys to extend the selection, the selection grows in a wrong direction.
    To reproduce:
    1. Click and drag the text cursor to select text.
    2. Shift + Arrow left to make the selection smaller.
    Bug: the selection starts to grow/shrink AT THE BEGINNING OF SELECTION, not at the end of the selection.
    Why is this a problem?
    When selecting text, the cursor must be left where the mouse button is released. If selecting from left to right, the cursor must be left at the end of the selection. Therefore, Shift+Arrow key must grow/shrink the selection at the end. InDesign does in an unexpected way, it leaves the cursor at the beginning of the selection!
    BTW the cursor movement after selecting text is a random mess:
    - Shift + Left arrow - extends the selection to the left
    - after this: Shift + Right arrow extends the selection to the right
    - after this: Shift + Left arrow shrinks the selection on the right (... ?)

    The correct behavior (see practically all editors on this Earth, those all work correctly):
    - When releasing the cursor at the beginning of the selection (selecting from right to left), Shift + Arrow keys grow/shrink the selection at the beginning (on the left side).
    - When releasing the cursor at the end of the selection (selecting from left to right), Shift + Arrow keys grow/shrink the selection at the end (on the right side).

13. Paragraph values not appearing – SOLUTION

    Paragraph values not showing in panel when text is selected.

    SOLUTION I use is to hide options then show options which resets panel, rather than quit and restart InDesign or reboot Mac.

14. Running very slow

    InDesign CC 2023: no matter what settings (I.e. how many times I change the display performance to fast or turn off a lot of features) there is still a 5-7 second delay on every single keystroke, every cursor movement, every selection, etc. etc. That is, if it doesn't just freeze altogether. My document is only 21 pages with minimal text and the images shouldn't be displayed at full resolution anyway, so there's no reason it should be this laggy. No other adobe program has this problem for me at the moment. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the program, that didn't work. I tried to clear the cache, but the keyboard shortcut didn't do anything. No matter what I do it doesn't even get faster. It's genuinely unusable at this point.

15. M1 Mac Graphic Problems Continue

    As others have mentioned InDesign graphic performance on M1 Macs is unacceptable. This was marked as "fixed" but it continues with macOS Ventura 13.0.1 and InDesign 18. For example, the screen does not always redraw when scrolling or jumping to a different page until you move your pointer. Switching to a different program and then back to InDesign also fixes the problem for a while. It doesn't matter whether GPU Performance is on or off. This is the most fundamental functionality. Please figure it out and fix it once and for all.

17. InDesign 18.0 keeps hanging when hyperlinks panel is open (checking links)

    In InDesign 18.0 on Windows 10:
    When I have a document open that has a lot of hyperlinks in the text and the Hyperlinks Panel is open, InDesign becomes unusable, because it constantly keeps checking the validity of the hyperlinks as a foreground process. So it keeps hanging and on the spinning blue circle. As soon as I manage to close the Hyperlinks Panel the problem dissapears, but sometimes I actually need to use the hyperlinks panel, and then the problem is back again. It becomes almost impossible to do/click/select anything in InDesign at that moment. This needs to be fixed, and the hyperlink validation needs to be a background process again!!!

18. Paragraph panel very slow to open

    InDesign v. 18.0 / working on Macbook Pro, macOS Ventura 13.0.1

    Help! When I click on the Paragraph tools panel, it takes about 3 seconds for it to open. Other panels (characters, styles, swatches, etc.) open immediately.

    This is a new issue with this version of InDesign. Is there something I can do to fix this?

19. InDesign 2023 18.0 /Users/user/Library/Application Support/Adobe InDesign/Version 18.0/en_US/InDesign Recovery/ filling up with DBTmp files

    We have an automated process using InDesign to export the XML out of a .indd files. We are experiencing a scenario where InDesign is leaving behind numerous DBTmp files in /Users/user/Library/Application Support/Adobe InDesign/Version 18.0/en_US/InDesign Recovery/ to the point that our Mac is filling up a 500 Gig SSD. These files do not clean up after Quitting InDesign, a Reboot, attempting the Reset InDesign Preferences Shift-Control-Option-Command startup of InDesign. These files are also locked. In our scenario, we hit 119,000 files or so and InDesign just quit working due to the drive being full. I have attached a list of the files to this request
