Placing Cloud Documets
Placing Cloud Documents in InDesign would vastly improve and simplify the workflow of a project started in apps such as Photoshop, Fresco, or Illustrator on iPad Pro. This would allow editing the files placed in the InDesign file without the need to export the Cloud Documents to a compatible often uneditable file format.

No way to sync footnote options between documents.
I have a book consisting of several documents. I can sync styles between documents, but not footnote options. Syncing styles does not sync footnote options.
Having to set footnote options for each document that has them is onerous.

Allow Author to mark comment as complete without removing the reference.
Currently, if I (the author) mark something as "resolved", it removes the comment and prevents the person who created the comment from being able to easily see what they have done and how it was resolved.
it would be nice for people invited to review to see what past comments they have made (maybe grey out a comment that is marked "Resolved" so that they can go back to that page and see. Then, if it is not done to satisfaction, they could un-resolve it.

Automatic detection of colors with values in all CMYK plates

Add "Grid Calculator PRO" by default in Adobe Indesign CC 2020 or improve the setup of grid / baseline grid
The plugin "Grid Calculator PRO" (https://www.designersbookshop.com/grid-calculator-pro-edition.html) is perfect.
With this plugin you can configure the grid and/or the baseline grid precisely much more that with default setup of Adobe Indesign CC 2020.
It would be interesting to integrate this plugin directly in Adobe Indesign CC 2020 or modify the currently setup of the configuration of grid / baseline grid feature adding more options for this elements.

find and change in book
Currently one has to open all documents to F&C across them. There should be a "Book" option in the F&C panel so the files open/save/close automatically like they do when sync'ing.

Automaticly update old files after large update
After the last update(2020) of InDesign, i started creating a book file. When I loaded the files in the book file, all files had to manually be saved again in the new version of InDesign. When creating a book of more than 100 files, it is verry time consuming. To create alle the books(multiple each month whit files that are already created), i have more than 1000 files wich have to be updated to the latest file. Make the systemfonts invisible.
As a graphic designer I use a font management system. Unfortunately it is not (anymore) possible to delete the endless list of unnecessary fonts at MacOs Catalina. When using the Adobe programs (Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), the terribly long list of (unnecessary) fonts now appears. In this list, I have to find my activated letter fonts. Very annoying!
Is it really not possible to remove or hide that list of Mac fonts?

Stroke Management in Table
Please put some buttons to select inner strokes / outer strokes of tables rather than right click on the miniature table graphic on strokes panel.
It will be very useful if you put one click option for Select All strokes, Select Border, Select Inner etc. Right click on that miniature cell sometimes very difficult. And make it the default selection for atleast one document

Just change one word in the preferences of German InDesign!
The German word "Textumfluss" is used two times in InDesign but with different meanings:
Within the preferences "Smart Text Reflow" is "Intelligenter Textumfluss".
And then there ist the "Text Wrap" panel, which is named "Textumfluss" in German, too.So "wrap" gets the same translation as "reflow"? Noooooo! These are two different thing and should not be named the same!
A better translation for reflow would be "Textumbruch", so please change just one word in the German preferences, from "Intelligenter Textumfluss" to "Intelligenter Textumbruch".

Empower Indesign "Books" to export PDF's that display perfect spreads between "chapters."
PDF is the only way to view a complete "Book." But Indesign is designed only to generate single-page PDF's. That is fine for final output for print production, when one needs a single-page document. But it fails during the design process, when one needs to show the clients a whole book (with complex visual/verbal design) as spreads. What happens now is that a left-hand chapter-ending page will appear as a single page in a spread-displaying PDF. And the right-hand chapter-beginning page will appear as a single page. QR Code
I think it would be great if the QR codes that are generated can be actually tracked. The number of users, where it was scanned, etc. Basically, Google Analytics but only for QR codes.

Black only crops
When printing or exporting to a pdf file for print, can we have an option of black only crop marks. The reason is when we print to our Xerox Igen 4 and there is a mixture of color and black and white pages, the pages with just black text register as color because of the registration colored crop marks and on large runs it can add up to a lot of money. Quick change of tables column width and row height
Please give us the ability to set column width and row height of a table in one step.
Today I only can change one table column after the other if I want different column width. The same is true for table rows if I want different row height as well.
With the script (AutoColumn) from Gerald Singelmann it’s possible to change at least all column width in one step. I didn’t found a script for row height till today.

Display progress bar for long operations
When working with a big document, there are many operations that take a very long time. For example, generating a TOC, deleting pages that cause text to reflow, etc. Tasks that happen almost instantly with reasonably sized documents can take many minutes when we get into 500+ pgs.
Currently we only see a spinning beachball (mac) when we get stuck in a long task. There's no way to determine whether it's just going to take a long time, or if indesign is completely locked up. The system sees it as "application not responding," but a lot of times patience pays…

Shared files in Dropbox should alert other file users if the file is open
My team is trying to collaborate cross-country on a set of InDesign files using Dropbox.
This is difficult because the InDesign files don't notify users when someone is in the same file when it's stored in Dropbox. This makes our team more likely to have divergent copies, and it makes it harder for us to collaborate.
Word files in Dropbox do let you know when someone else is in the file. It would be a major improvement if the InDesign files would also alert users when someone else is in the file when its stored in Dropbox.
