Drag Edited Images in Lightroom Directly to InDesign which automates Export and Creates Shadow File Folder Structure of Edited Files.
Drag Edited Images in Lightroom Directly to InDesign which automates Export and Creates "Shadow File Folder Structure" of Exported Edited Files. This would allow easy Image Navigation for visually identifying assets from Lightbox environment and directly linking them to INDD files without the cumbersome and redundant step of Exporting and then searching for exported file in FINDER. This is a no brainer for LR IND Integrated workflows! Please prioritize!

Update links with custom settings
When opening a document and InDesign asks if links should be updated, there should be a choice for linked files only. When using alternate layouts, e.g. with an A4 and a Letter instance, the line breaks will be manually adjusted. So when the file is opened and all links are updated (because maybe images and charts used in both formats were updated), the manual changes in the linked texts of the alternate format are gone.

Multi Level Object Lock
Instead of faffing around with Layers, it would sometimes be handy to quickly be able to lock objects at multiple levels, so that when you want to unlock a specific object on a specific layer, it doesn't unlock every layer.
For example if you have 3 objects overlaying each other you could lock the lowest object by holding 'Ctrl' and tapping 'L' 3 times, twice for the second layer, etc.
To unlock, 'Ctrl' + 'Shift' + 'L', tapping L as many times as required depending on the layer.

Locked Content — Functionality Request
SUBJECT — Locked Content on InDesign Pages
• InDesign — version 17.3
This request applies to when an InDesign page has locked content — in other words, when multiple text boxes and image boxes and other page elements are all locked.
• When an InDesign page has multiple text boxes and image boxes that are locked, often enough I want to access only one of the locked text boxes to make a simple change to the text.
• Currently, in order to access that textbox to make the change, the quickest way I've found requires me to unlock the ENTIRE page and make the change — and then, in order to lock the text boxes and image boxes again, I have to select all those boxes AGAIN and re-lock them.
• The functionality of a previous version of InDesign was more user-friendly — that older version of InDesign allowed me to simply click on the text box with one of the selector tools and make the simple change to the text, and that text box and all the other text boxes and image boxes would STAY LOCKED — so there was no need to AGAIN have to select the boxes and lock them again after making that one simple change to the text.
• Can this older and very helpful locked-content functionality be restored and added to InDesign version 17.3 and upcoming InDesign versions? Adding and/or restoring this functionality would make InDesign more convenient, more user-friendly, and less aggravating for your current users, including me.
Thank you in advance for your consideration of and attention to this request.

Add Speech bubbles for comics
I am using object styles to make great narration boxes and keeping the style and size in sync throughout my comics, but I can't find a way to make a shape that I can control to make the speech bubbles, and connect shapes between them.

An AI procedure/tool creates design variations across disparate custom page sizes in a document.
In a document that has multiple pages, where each page has different custom dimensions, what if there were an AI tool that used elements from page 1 to create adapted layouts for the remaining pages of the document?
You could include a few parameters, like whether or not to allow text smaller than agate text, or to allow new margins to be established vs honoring the document settings for margins, etc. Perhaps a disclaimer flag for elemetns that are small print text and could be omitted from smaller ad sizes.
The procedure/tool could consider heirachy based on size, color, brightnes contrast or position to better decide the layout.
Then the resulting pages would still be editable/tweakable to the designer.
This would be useful to the two companies where I work every day. Specifically, designing similar ads across disparate Google ad sizes, FB Posts, web sliders, etc... for a campain. In fact it would be a productivity game changer.
Liquid layout is nice, but it lacks sophistication that AI appears to offer. Also Liquid layout requires you manually change the page size after its existence, as opposed to a tool that creates adaptations on all remaining pages at once.
Thanks for your consideration.

Preflight: option to check document text only (not in linked graphics)
Hi, I would appreciate to be able to determine whether or not the Preflight profile marks errors found in linked graphic files, rather than in the document itself. (For example, when a linked graphics file uses fonts that are flagged as 'not allowed', it might still be reproduced well while the same error is likely to be important when it occurs in a text included in the .INDD file itself.).
I'm mainly thinking of text-related errors like invalid or missing fonts. For controlling this, the current TEXT options could just be duplicated into "Document Text" and "Text in linked graphics".

Please expand "Save As" filename box
Why is the "Save As" box so small? I work with long filenames and having to scroll horizontally to append them every time I save a file is a pain.

Share for Review - "I'm done" and "approved" buttons would be very helpful.

Svg clipping mask not applied
Svg clipping masks are not applied to svg files linked in indesign. This makes it impossible for me to create an svg and import it to indesign.
I have attached the original version created in inkscape as well as the imported version in indesign.

Add a Variable Fonts Option to Classification
I'd like to be able to filter all loaded variable fonts in the type menu – similar to other properties like x-height and weight.

Share for Review - support languages
We need support in other languages for instance - Chinese and India languages, possibly more.
I have colleagues globally that we use this feature so they can review translations. When they type in comments, it is only in English. I have no way of testing this but they did send this screenshot (attached). Any workarounds?

Live preview when transforming elements
In Illustrator, I am used to having a constant preview when moving and transforming objects instead of just overlays and boxes. Please integrate this too in InDesign as this is a de-facto standard in any modern graphics tool. It makes doing adjustments so much easier.

Add a setting to make horizontal scrolling / zoom with mouse wheel match operating system
In Windows, holding shift while scrolling scrolls horizontally and holding ctrl while scrolling zooms in / out.
I would like to be able to the same behavior in InDesign so I do not have to consciously change how I navigate documents when using adobe products

Inline Anchored Graphics
Inline anchored graphics should have a "release" in the menu that is not grayed-out. Custom anchored graphics have this, but inline does not. This should be remedied.

Share for review user interface change to the same as shared online PDFs
Really like the Share for Review feature however the interface differs slightly to exporting to pdf and sharing an online pdf. Having explored both ways to get client feedback on designs, although as the designer I prefer Share for Review (the ability to update the link with latest changes and being able to review comments direct in InDesign through the 'Review' tab), the clients find the interface on the online shared pdf easier and clearer to use and less buggy. Could InDesigns Share for Review have the same interface/features as the online shared PDF interface.

Object layer to InDesign layer
It would be great to be able to place contents from different object layers in supported image files to different Indesign layers.
I have a request from one of my printing suppliers that wants all black text to be on the same InDesign layer but currently this is not possible as the imported image, a keyline can only exist on one layer at the time. The keyline both contains a keyline frame in cyan and a keyline reference to be printed in black1 vote -
Have a character style option to lock to baseline grid / unlock from baseline grid
I typeset books and leading often have to adjust leading to accommodate page breaks, especially across a spread, so it is important to have this flexibility. I use alternative paragraph styles as a workaround, but this is clunky and time-consuming. Vertical justification doesn't always give the best result.

Create native paths from imported vector
Convert (simple) imported Illustrator files to native InDesign paths.
This makes it easy to e.g. convert a logo and make the InDesign document independent of an external graphic.
(See how After Effects has a function 'Create Shapes from Vector Layer'. https://helpx.adobe.com/nl/after-effects/how-to/convert-illustrator-layers-to-shape-layers.html)

An Unlock All option
I think the Unlock All option in illustrator should also be available in InDesign in the Object Tab
