Indesign Online Dashboard improvements - Custom URL, Google analytics, Fname direct to send clients
Indesign is hands down the best software to design & create digital brochures with its advanced technology & features its impeccable. HOWEVER talking about the Online Dashboard System its not leading the industry.
I've done my research and a lot of the online digital brochure creator websites are ahead.
I will list below a few new ideas/features I'd love to see Adobe implement to put them back in the lead when it comes to the publishing feature.
(Some of these ideas are already being done by the online companies)<> Custom URL, so it looks more professional to clients rather than it saying "Ind.Adobe" with loads of numbers following it.
<> While on the subject of the URL, it would be fantastic if we could customise the cover photo/thumbnail rather than it showing the adobe logo, I'd like to show my brands logo. It would be a great feature for when we send the link in WhatsApp
<> Better and more analytics rather than just the 3-4 basic ones. The more the better it really helps to understand as much as possible. (gender/location/where they found the link/social media and so much more)
<> To go one better a collaboration to implement Google Analytics
<> Name tags - (I don't actually know what this is called) I'm sure you've all seen it when setting up emails in mailchimp for example 'Fname', then it automatically inserts the clients name.
It would be fantastic if this feature could be inserted inside the brochure, so the client feels like the brochure itself is personal to them.
Then instead of the traditional 'Publish Online' button, it has a send to box and when you enter each clients name & email it automatically fills the name and sends the Custom URL link to that specific client.I think finally I'm done.
I have so many ideas so anyone that works at Adobe if you're struggling for new features you can give me a call🤣
Thank you and I hope other Indesign fans will see these features as benefits, I look forward to seeing them on the platform soon.

Why not add File Suffixes functionality for all export types? (PDF etc...)
It's just what the tagline suggests. Seems simple to complete.

Add space before when first on page
When there is a Title which is set to be first on page, in some cases it is needed to have some space before. For example, chapter title. It is easier to set that through Paragraph Style than to set as a box feature. That feature existed in Xerox Ventura Publisher more than 30 years ago, and exists in Affinity Publisher. It is one smole checkbox in Indent and Spacing, but a big help for us who are in book layout business.

Custom Font Menu
Please ad the ability to customize a font menu. In order, with colour across all software and the ability for it to over-ride current files with that same custom menu.
The favourites is just not as powerful at custom order and colour coding for each kind of font style.1 vote -
Add 'contact shadows' like in Keynote, rather than just plan old drop shadows. The contact shadow is used for products standing upright.

Allow the continuity of footnotes according to pages and not blocks OR chaining anchored text blocks ?!
I use anchored boxes which (unfortunately) contain notes.
The numbering of the notes resumes as if it were the start of another document, that is to say at 1.
I would like it to be possible for these note numbers to follow the previous ones and for the following ones to take them into account:
note 1 in the text – anchored box with note which should be 2 (and not 1) – note which should be 3 in the text (but which will be 2…). Aaaargh…
Perhaps a numbering option like in the paragraph styles/Bullets and numbering options where we could choose the start of the numbering?
We are used to the best with you so, maybe manage to do it automatically by giving it options with the right click or footnote options ;)
OR
Succeed in chaining text blocks even if they are anchored?!!!!
For information, I am making a book.
Thanks in advance ;)I use anchored boxes which (unfortunately) contain notes.

An option to turn off auto-numbering of interactive buttons
An option to turn off the auto-numbering of interactive buttons when they are the same name.
We sometimes create multiple views of an interactive piece and for analytics need the buttons to have the same name. If there are a lot of buttons sometimes it can take quite a while to got through each button and remove the number added to each one.

Template Automation from CSV File
Dear InDesign Support Team,
I hope this message finds you well.
I am writing to inquire about a feature that I believe would greatly enhance the efficiency of template usage within InDesign.
Currently, I often work with templates that contain a simple layout consisting of a picture (a person's image) and text (the person's name) underneath it.
These templates serve as the basis for creating multiple pages, each with unique content. What I would like to request is the capability to automate the population of these templates using data from a CSV (Comma-Separated Values) file.
Specifically, I envision a feature where InDesign can import or process a CSV file, with the first column containing the names of individuals and
the second column containing the file paths to their respective images.
InDesign would then automatically create pages based on the template, populating each page with the corresponding name and image from the CSV file. This automation feature would be incredibly beneficial for tasks such as creating directories, event programs, or any document where a
template needs to be populated with data from an external source efficiently.Such a feature would save users like me a significant amount of time and effort by eliminating the manual and repetitive task of creating individual pages for each record in the CSV file.
I understand that InDesign is a powerful design tool with a commitment to user-friendliness and productivity.
I believe that this proposed feature aligns well with those principles and would be a valuable addition to the software. Please consider this feature request, and I would appreciate any information you can provide regarding its feasibility or any plans for its implementation in future updates of Adobe InDesign. If you require any further clarification or have questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
Thank you for your attention to this request, and I look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
Silviu Mocanu

Measuring feature
It would be great if there were a way to measure the distance between 2 objects. If I could select the first hold down option and hover over another object it would be fantastic to see a popup telling me how many px it is apart

Flipped Images in Pre-Flight
I'd like to add "flipped image" to the pre-flight process.
I've recently had to scour a product catalog for flipped images because a junior designer didn't realize that flipping images mis-represented the non-symmetrical producs. It should be something that pre-flight draws attention to as a potential error, similar to non-proportional scaling.
I was able to install an obscure script that looked for both flipped frames and flipped image content and made a list for you - it was a lifesaver!1 vote -
do not overwrite Object Styles when making a group to make it accessible
When applying different object styles to elements in InDesign, they are "deleted" when I make a group and giving the "group" another object-style (for example: a picture and a text, both have separate object styles - i group them, and then want to give the group an object style that puts it in the right position on my page)
As soon as I apply the Object style, to the group, the individual object styles are "overwritten". I can manually reapply them in the group, but thats not efficient.
Especialle to make an accessible PDF, the feature of different Object styles in a group would be very useful, so please consider adding the feature - thanks

Publishonline Ideas votes must be separated from Indesign ideas.
Indesign users and issues are far away more than publishonline. I think it's fair to separate them so publishonline users have more efficiency. Publishonline will have a great future if we could invest on it. Although it is improoving very slow. Lets speedit up.
