Reject comments instead of just deleting them
It would be useful to be able to reject comments (via share for review) instead of just deleting them. That way you still have a record of the comments and can filter your search to see comments that were rejected. Being able to export the comments is also critical. But that's a separate issue/thread for which I already voted.

Cross-references in other documents after HTML export
description
If cross-references are made to another document in InDesign and then an HTML is exported, the linking in the HTML does not work - an empty a href is inserted without a target. It would be great if the link to the other document worked after exporting both documents as HTML.why is this important to you?
We are a company that creates digital learning books. Many of these books are created in InDesign for the print version and then sent to us as HTML. We then prepare these for our app. If this were done automatically during export, we wouldn't have to correct all the links "manually".

Adobe must immediately prioritize the RENDER OF FILE THUMBNAIL PREVIEW of .indd file on Mac Desktop/finder
How can a an application of visual asset creation not render a visual preview thumbnail on Mac OS Finder? This is patently absurd and frustrating beyond comprehension! Please prioritize the RENDERING OF A THUMBNAIL PREVIEW for all INDD Files on Mac OS!!

Enhanced Rendering Intent Options
Currently, InDesign allows us to set rendering intents for pixel-based images. However, it would be extremely beneficial if this functionality could be extended to vector objects and objects that have a LAB color space.
Here are the specific enhancements I’m proposing:
Vector Objects: Provide options to set rendering intents for individual vector objects. This would give users more flexibility in managing the color output of vector graphics within their designs.
LAB Color Space: Allow users to define rendering intents for objects that have a LAB color space. Given the wide gamut of the LAB color space, this would help ensure more accurate color reproduction.
Placed PDFs: Enable users to override the rendering intent of placed PDFs. This would be particularly useful when the original rendering intent of the PDF does not match the desired output intent.
These enhancements would provide users with more granular control over color management, particularly when working with a combination of images and graphics.

Export interactive elements from placed/nested indd files
Interactive pdf elements are currently ignored if indd file is placed within another indd file for export.
Ideal behaviour would be that the parent indd would "inherit" or "compile" the interacctive elements of the linked file at export.

UI feels outdated and cluttered
The UI still feels like it's stuck in 2000.
It is not free scalable, input fields are to small or resize.
Using the ui scale option, feels like it did just zoom in.Best example: The font size is limited to 4-5 Characters, no way to make it bigger if you want to input some simple math (19,416 Pt * 1,25).

show the name of the open file in the window name of Tabbed interface
Tabbed Interface has a Window Title that does not reflect the Document that is in Focus and being worked on. As some time tracking Apps like Rescue Time or Timely are using Window names to log time entries it would be helpful, having a more talkative window name that shows the document name of the tab that is currently in the foreground.

keep "Composite fonts" function, and let user change the interface language directly in the application.
The latest English version of InDesign 19.0 is no longer compatible with "composite fonts"...
In Asian countries, the "Composite fonts" function is quite important to most users who keep working with bilingual documents. It gives us a headache always when we need to update the application. Instead of downloading the application in different languages, why not integrate some of the languages, like merging commonly used English and Asian languages? We only need to change the interface language directly in the application, which does not hinder us from using the "Composite font" function. Isn't it better?1 vote -

Find all data placeholders
"There is at least one data placeholder that cannot be found..."
Trying to determine what InDesign is objecting to here has lost me HOURS of work. As we speak, I'm trying to set up a tab file for a document. I have inserted two data placeholders. They correspond to the two fields in the data source. I cannot locate the "offending" placeholder.
Can you PLEASE add a "locate all placeholders" or something similar so we don't pull our hair out trying to find the "extra" placeholders?

horizontal table flow in text boxes
Right now, if you have a table that has more rows than the text box can handle vertically, the table will auto-flow into a new/threaded text box, or another column within the text box. It would be really helpful if tables could the same thing horizontally.
For example, let's say you set up a table with 3 rows, first with images, a second with item numbers, and a third with descriptions. Each column for this set up is an inch wide, and you have 30 items that each need their own column, but you want it to fill an 8.5x11 sheet.
As of now, that table will just extend past the edges of the text box/page. You have to manually cut/paste the table in sections back into the text box if you want the table to continue down the page when it hits the horizontal edge. It would be great if tables could treat the horizontal edges just like it does the vertical one, like regular text, and continue on the next line.
I hope this all makes sense. I know it's not necessarily a typical use case, but for many of the catalog type pages I make, it would be extremely helpful if this were possible, and I didn't have to do this by hand every time.

Playing GIFs in InDesign, improve export to PDF
Currently there is no way to add a GIF image to the indesign file. In my case I would like to place a GIF image into my portfolio with ability to export it into PDF keeping the play function of the image. Neither in InDesign nor PDFs support this feature and the only way is to present it is to export into EPUB which is useless for the sake of the portfolio sharing as if it limits how file could be reviewed. Please, look at the problem and add interactive feature as if it will be helpful for presentations of ideas. As an architectural student and a future architect I find this will be an important addition how I can share my ideas with other people in a less cluttered way keeping the volume of the information shared.

Add Units selection in dialog boxes
It would be extremely helpful to have an option to switch between units in all dialog boxes where values can be entered in different units.
For instance when making a new document we have the option of selection units via a drop down menu.
Is there really any reason why this is not an option in all cases where the user can input values of certain units?
We could need it in the following dialogs:
- Document Setup
- Margins and Columns
- Create Guides
- All the Dialog boxes for setting paragraph, character object styles.
- Print Dialog

Footnotes from text that has been placed from a Word doc should flow continuously, so they can have numbering applied to them
When importing a document from Word that has footnotes, the footnotes are entered as separate imbedded text frames which I can't thread. If I try to apply numbering, they each are numbered 1. This is really frustrating. The footnotes should not be separated out into individual text frames, to keep them in the same text frame as paragraphs within the same text frame, or they should be allowed to be threaded.
