Please Integrate with photoshop.
Im having a nightmare trying to open Indesign files in to photoshop, keeping layers. One can think that it would be more natural, because thay are both design programs made by the same company. In practice it seems to be impossible. Please I need to be able to do it somehow. Any clues?

Vignette effect for frames
Hi guys,
This would be a killing feature. There's NO WAY to automatically assign a vignette effect to a photo frame. I order to do that I have to:
1) Emulate the effect . by assigning inner shadow to a frame. This is kind of ok but it has probblems: it's not a propper vignette (vignettes actually affect corners, kind of a radial gradient) and there is no way to apply a size that is relative to the frame (I know, this is not even possible anywhere).
2) On a picture, I can select the content of the frame (the picture) and make it 2multiply". Then I paint the picture frame with a radial gradient in black and white. This seems to be the best solution but I can't save this as an object style!
I hope I'm not missing something.. but something like this would be great.
Thanks!

Option to turn off auto centre when selecting layers
When selecting objects in my layers panel, my screen jumps to that object. This is not what I want. No way. Never.
Sometimes i go through my layers and select them to see what they are especially if they aren't named. But i don't want to navigate to them automatically! If i have zoomed in and am looking at a particular object, there is no way i want some automatic feature to take me away to a different part of the document - just so i have to zoom out and go back to where i was focusing on.
Big time wasting feature right there. When selecting objects in my layers panel, my screen jumps to that object. This is not what I want. No way. Never.

Layers panel addressing one page at a time (even with spreads) for 508 compliancy
My agency has to do a lot of remediation to our files to meet accessibility requirements. Currently we use the layers panel to arrange objects on the page so that the reading order makes sense when the PDFs are read using assistive software. With files set up in spreads, all items on the spread are considered in the reading order despite the final PDF being output as single pages. It would be nice if the layers panel could be configured to address one page at a time (vs. two pages, as it is now). For simple projects, the spread approach works fine, but as projects become more complex and with the addition of more pages, this becomes extremely time consuming to remediate.

Remove all alt text
Like everyone, I was affected by the recent bug masquerading as a feature that added a ton of unwelcome AI alt text to every image that I didnt ask for and don't need. Now I have to go through image by image if I want it all out? One of these documents has over 2000 links. I NEED a way to remove all alt text easily. I didn't want it to begin with! Shameful this "feature" shipped at all, let alone without an easy undo! Are you THAT desperate to get your AI adoption number up? Guess so!

Add a CAI Content Authenticity panel to let users check image provenance
It would be helpful to have a CAI (Content Authenticity Initiative) panel in InDesign to allow users to check the "Cr" content credentials on placed images.
(Adobe is one of the founders of CAI, so it should be implemented in all Adobe tools.)

Conditional Vertical Justification
Add a new option to the Vertical Justification settings for text frames: "Conditional Justify".
BehaviorWhen Conditional Justify is selected, vertical justification is applied only when the text frame is sufficiently filled. Add a numeric field: Content fill threshold (%). If the frame’s text occupies a percentage equal to or greater than this threshold, the frame receives full vertical justification. If the frame’s fill is below this threshold, the frame uses the chosen fallback alignment.Fallback option
Provide a dropdown: Fallback alignment with the classic vertical choices: Top, Center, Bottom.Notes / Suggested defaults
Default Content fill threshold: 90% (editable). Default Fallback alignment: Top. Show a small live preview or indicator in the Text Frame Options dialog that displays the current frame’s content fill percentage.Rationale (brief)
This lets designers apply full vertical justification only when a frame is nearly full, avoiding awkward spacing in partially filled frames while maintaining consistent alignment when content is dense.
Additional conditions may be added later (e.g., minimum/maximum number of paragraphs, presence of headings, or specific glyph counts).Add a new option to the Vertical Justification settings for text frames: "Conditional Justify".

QR Code Indesign - Business Tittle
Hi there, I was happy to create a QR Code in InDesign, but I encountered 2 issues:
The Title doesn't display above the name in the .vcf file. Instead displays the email which you can find later below in the email section. Can anyone help me in How can this be fixed?
There is no option to include a Logo. It would be great to have this option.

Allow inserting symbolic footnotes (e.g., asterisk *) without affecting numbered footnotes
In many types of publishing—especially academic, religious, and literary works—there is often a need to insert symbolic footnotes, such as a single asterisk (), double asterisks (*), dagger (†), or other custom characters, without affecting the numbering sequence of standard footnotes in the document.
Currently, InDesign only supports one unified footnote style per document, which means that using a symbol instead of a number affects all footnotes globally. This makes it impossible to add a single symbolic note while keeping the rest of the footnotes numbered.
Feature Request: Please consider allowing users to insert a one-time, manually defined footnote symbol (like a star or dagger) alongside normal numbered footnotes. This could be implemented as:
A "custom footnote marker" option when inserting a footnote
Or an "inline note" feature with a customizable reference marker and body text
This flexibility would be highly valuable to book designers, editors, and academic publishers who frequently need to use both symbolic and numeric footnotes in the same document.

Add Ligature on/off button to the available space for the character type panel
Due to the recent update (June 2025), there is now an open space for another button on the character style in the Control Panel. The design with the additional space is throwing me off when clicking on Superscript. Adding a button for turning Ligatures on and off would absolutely make life easier. Right now you can turn on/off in character and paragraph style panels, or you have to go to the drop down Menu in the Character panel.

Support for webp format when exporting to epub
- InDesign currently supports the WebP format.
- ePub 3.0 supports WebP Therefore, it would be beneficial if, when exporting to ePub, the image retains its original format and does not convert it to JPEG or PNG format. This ensures that the quality of the images used in the eBook remains high while maintaining a low file size.

Preserve Preview Checkbox Settings
After upgrades or patches, it would be nice to have the Preview switches in so many various dialog boxes preserved in the ON position.

Add custom labels to page thumbnails in the Pages panel
As someone who regularly works with large, multi-page InDesign documents - especially project-based packages - I’d love to see the ability to assign custom labels or names to individual pages in the Pages panel.
Currently, when I need to go back and edit a specific project page in a large qualifications package, it’s difficult and time-consuming to locate the right page. Using only numerical page numbers doesn’t give me the context I need, especially when each page represents a different project.
While section markers and visible labels on the page help somewhat, these don’t make navigation faster within the Pages panel. What would really help is the ability to:
Add custom labels (e.g., "Project Name, Client Grouping") next to or beneath page thumbnails in the Pages panel
Use those labels to search, sort, or jump to specific pages more easily
Keep things organized when working with 50+ pages of unique but visually similar content
This feature would make InDesign much more efficient for designers managing complex documents — especially in architecture, marketing, publishing, and design studios.

Hide Application Home Bar
PLEASE need an option to HIDE the application bar with the Home icon and app version... Such a waste of much needed workspace, and there is absolutely nothing in that bar that enhances my workflow.

Lockable Panels/Workspaces
Please consider adding an option to lock panel positions within the workspace, preventing accidental movement or rearrangement. This feature would be useful not only in InDesign but across all Adobe Creative Cloud applications for users who want to maintain a consistent and intentional UI layout.

Too Much Pain and Harm: InDesign Find Interface Input Boxes with Too Little Font
Too Much Pain and Harm: InDesign Find Interface Input Boxes with Too Little Font
Too Much Pain and Harm: InDesign Find Interface Input Boxes with Too Little Font
If the lookup is simple and short, you may think it doesn't matter.
But the inner word is a little long, want to modify and need to find half a day.Wouldn't it be more comfortable to be able to freely enlarge the font?

Have the option to use IMAGES for Paragraph: RULES, BORDERS, and SHADING
Paragraph Rules, Borders, and Shading are all great. They are also all: flat, uniform...boring...
Sometimes a layout demands stuff that is more...messy. Clients often ask for 'grungy' effects to highlight specific parts of text, and every designer gets what they mean.
I currently use an anchored image to achieve this, but it's fiddly, and easily broken. It requires scripting or tedious CandP.
Adding an IMAGE option to Paragraph (and Character?) styles would be brilliant. When I'm working on webpages, I'm using 'background' in CSS all the time.

That same flexibility in InDesign (image link, position, size, 9-slicing{?!!}, color modes, etc etc) would transform the print/pdf workflow immensely.

Dynamic Data Merge Updates in InDesign even after Generated
Currently, after completing a data merge, the generated document loses its link to the source Excel/CSV file, making it impossible to update content (like product names or prices) without re-running the entire merge. This becomes a major issue when we've manually added custom pages, layout tweaks, image adjustments, or element placements based on text length—re-merging resets everything.
Suggestion:
Introduce a "Dynamic Merge" option in the Data Merge panel that maintains live links to the CSV/Excel source. This way, users can choose between a static or dynamic output. With dynamic mode, merged fields remain linked and identifiable, allowing easy content updates from the original data file without losing layout changes. This would save huge amounts of time and prevent repetitive layout work.
Thanks!

find pasted graphics
Have a way to search for pasted graphics and to export them to be able to link them. I would like preflight to identify and let me know if the document contains pasted graphics. And, it would be great to export the graphic and link it.
