  1. Change ID's file locating from absolute addresses to relative

    When I change the name of my project folder, housing all of my ID and art/font folders, InDesign stops linking to the art folder. This is annoying. Is this happening because my art files are in a folder named something other than Links?

  2. Add/Improve more features of Liquid Layout

    Liquid layout has been around for ages, but there are no new developments. It would be good if you could link two elements together. i.e. a text box with an image box so that as artworks grow or shrink, the relationship between the two elements work in conjunction with each other, I know Chilli have taken the liquid layout concept and enhanced it on their web2print platform.

  3. License official German dictionary (Duden) for InDesign

  6. Indexes

    When creating an Index, you are limited to populate ONLY one Index style format. If you want create more Indexes like the Index format, you can't, you are forced to use the Table of Contents style. Look at MS Word, you can create a General Index, a Index of Cases and Index of Figures.

    My suggestion: improve the Index function with the ability to create multiple Indexes, that follow the actual Index format (not the Table of Contents Format)

  7. Make the color of the hidden conditional text indicator match the color assigned to the condition

    Currently, the color of the hidden conditional text indicator is orange. But why orange?why not something more useful? We are able to assign specific colors to each condition, so why not extend those colors to the hidden conditional text indicator as well? Right now, in order to see which condition is applied to hidden conditional text, we have to hover over it and hope that the tooltip pops up.   8. Easier to disable the published online dialogues

    Make it easier to disable the publish online dialogues appears every time you save a PDF.

    I got rid of it once, but I've had to reset my preferences several times since then and each time it comes back wanting to inform me about the new feature.

    A checkbox for do "not ask me again" should appear prominently on the first page of that dialogue.

  10. option to start paragraph rule at end of text

    Give an option to start a paragraph rule at end of text, possibly with a specified amount of white space between the end of text and the beginning of the rule.

    Attached are an example of what I'm wanting, and two shots of the paragraph rule settings I'm currently using to try and accomplish.

  11. Make option for "Edit->Place and Link" to update only table contents, not formatting

    In some cases I must use some tables with technical data in multiple documents in various conditions. For example, I wish to put it in catalogue layout with a table width of 287 mm, and in container label with a table width of 240 mm. Content and text format remain unchanged, but column width can vary.
    So I "Place and Link" the table, try to update my link. All my formatting is lost, and the table expands back to 287 mm. This is very annoying, especially when I need to handle hundreds of tables, which is usual situation for my…

  12. beeing able to save document bounds (document preferences)

    I have this problem, that my workspace layout has pallettes docked to the right screenside. With multiple document windows set to non tabbed (see screenshot; red area), the initial opened window will extend under my pallettes (green area), making it impossible to see the scroll bar. Also the document page isnt centered (blue area), and objects on the pasteboard are dissapearing out of sight under my palettes (yellow area).

    I have this covered by a start-up script with an event-listener 'afterOpen': app.layoutWindows[0].bounds = [81, 40, 1357, 1762];

    But i'd like to see this as an option.…

  13. More control with paragraph shading

    I would like more control over the space insets in the paragraph shading options. When a long paragraph of text flow on to the next page there is no way to control the spacing above (padding) when we're in the middle of the paragraph and "clip to frame" is checked. It is possible to get away with it if the distance from the top-margin and the first baseline is sufficient, but most of the time I want more space. I think it would be better if the text was forced down to the second baseline if necessary. The end goal…

  15. expand text frame's ignore text wrap

    In the text frame's options expand the ignore text wrap checkbox to give the options ignore text wraps below, ignore text wrap above or ignore all.

    As you can see in the attached file I want the text frame to observe the text wrap on the image to the left which is above the text frame, but I wanted to ignore the text wrap on the right-hand image which is below the text frame.

  17. Option in TOC dialogue which merges the same instances into one followed by a page range number

    I have a design guide with a complex table of contents (see toc1.png).

    There are topics like “Head - und Subline Allgemein” (see toc1.pgn) which spans over 3 different pages. After generating the TOC the topic is listed 3 times followed by their associated page number (see toc1.pgn).

    I would like to see a check box in the table of contents dialogue box which merges all the same instances into one followed by the page range number (see toc2.png)!

    Perhaps with a control of what character separates the two page numbers.

  18. Add Sticky Notes to Incopy like in Acrobat

    The Layout and the the Editors work pretty close together in our company. The ability for the Editors to correct their text in the Layoutview is a nice thing for both... Layout and Editors. But we really miss the "Sticky Note" Feature known from Acrobat. When the Editors try to communicate, that they want changes being applied to the Design, thats not really possible with Incopy right now. For example, the editors would love to click the sticky note tool, so that they could place it right next to a picture and add their notes. For exmample: "make this one…

  19. Spellcheck only "real" copy.

    Add an option in "Check Spelling" to tell it to "ignore automatically generated placeholder text". So that Spellcheck would flag only real copy. I often use both in my documents and it's hard to check a 40-pg document when it keeps stopping at several paragraphs of placeholder text.

  20. (InCopy) Include "document fonts" when packaging for InCopy

    It would be great, if the fonts could be included in a Package for InCopy.
    We often send a InCopy package for external corrections. They need the fonts to do their job properly.
