Presets for HTML Export
We should be able save reusable presets for all our HTML export settings, in the same way that we can save presets for PDF exporting.

Shading and Underline conflict
Some underline strokes become invisible when Paragraph Shading is applied.
If removed shading then strokes appear.
That's a bug, shading always must go bottom.
Two screenshots are from Indesign, with and without paragraph shading. The last screenshot is from Acrobat, i've deleted manually gray frames to reveal the hidden strokes.10 votes -
Text selection does not work properly with inline images
Actual result: If you place an inline image in the paragraph and the height of the image is higher than one line of text, the text selection does not work properly: the height of the highlighted area is equal to the height of the inline image (in the attached sample three lines).
Expected result: the highlighted area should only appear around the selected expression, not two lines below it.

Share for Review
I was excited to see the Share for Review feature roll-out in the newest June 2020 update. However, I have already experienced issues.
1. It only exported one page in my document.
2. I 'invited' members, but when they got the link, it prompted them to enter a password (that I never set and don't want to set).I work with a lot of non-technical savvy folks who just need the ability to see my work and comment without the need to log in or create an Adobe ID. The "Arrange Documents" icon in the Title bar is missing, I would love to have it back. It was extremely helpful. Now it wastes time to switch that from the Menu...

Allow negative indentation!
Please allow negative indentation!
That would make all kinds of hanging bullets, chapter numbers and outdentations easy without any workaround (like "indent everything but the headlines and lists" ...). It would make text layout faster, purer and cleaner, as the type area could be correctly defined just for the copy text.
I think this simple change should be easy to implement and bring enormous relief for our craft.

Spinning Beachball Details
When we get the dreaded spinning beachball (and Window equivalent), which seems to happen more and more with each new InDesign version, can we get some sort of real-time detailed report?
It'd be helpful to know what's going on in the moment so we can take action if necessary. As it is, we have no idea if InDesign is functioning properly or not, if there's a memory shortage, if there's a font conflict, and on and on.
It seems that the app must "know" what's wrong, to generate the spinning beachball -- so why leave users in the dark? We're…

page numbering
numbering of the pages can be started from a specific number but will remain in Ascending order, could you add option of numbering but in Descending order ?

Make the Learn Panel so that it can be enabled, even for experienced users (not just those who claim to be beginners).
Make the Learn Panel so that it can be enabled, even for experienced users (not just those who claim to be beginners). Currently, there is no way to view the Learn Panel if a user claimed "experienced" status at setup, even if this was done by accident. Users should be able to view the Learn Panel, regardless of level of experience. Evidently most of the students at our K-12 school, thought they were experienced, and now cannot access the Learn Panel for necessary tutorials. Please make the Learn Panel available for everyone.

Delete swatch / replace swatch
Please display the swatch that will be deleted on the 'Delete Swatch' dialog box to prevent replacing or deleting the wrong swatch (which is too easily done at the moment).

Make possible search-for-tags in Story Editor
I need to search for tags in Story Editor, or in any manner besides the Structure panel, to remove conditions that are arbitrarily applied by InDesign (when a word has a condition applied).

PDF preset that includes a stored password
When making PDFs, I'd like a way to make a preset that includes a stored password. When you have to make many PDFs with security, it's very time consuming to enter the same info over and over.

Allow Articles Pane to scroll to add more items easily
I'm working on a document that has many articles to drag into the articles pane. It's far too easy to accidentally drag a new article into an existing one because you can't scroll up to show enough blank space in the pane. Why is there no slider in the pane so there's enough room to drag new items?

A way to extract font and text styling from an image
There should be way to capture styling information from an image. It will be helpful to find out and use the font and other kind of text styling used in an image.

Fix the defaults
People rarely go into preferences and change the defaults. So for them it’s important to have good default values from the start. For people who know how to change the defaults it’s helpful if those defaults start out with the right values.
I’m talking about the font size and leading increments and kerning/tracking value increments. Why would the default increment be two points for font size and leading, not one? Does Adobe think we want to make it faster to greatly increase the point size at the expense of not being able to dial in the exact point size size…

Alternating Cell styles
Can you create an option to alternate your table rows between cell styles that you've already created? Perhaps applying the "Apply ____ style, then next" feature that is used for paragraph styles?
I just feel like there needs to be a better way to integrate your cell styles within your table style options. It would make table formatting much easier.
