  1. Detect a change in size of linked multi page PDF files

It would be great if ID could see if a placed PDF file changed number of pages. I often place multi page PDFs (financial documents) that span 1-20 pages and are updated/change number of pages as financial data updates. Currently it is a manual process to check the links panel for duplicate (page x) or visually look at the document to see if the total line is not there. These are 500+ page documents, so it takes forever sometimes!

  2. Edit all Export Tags for all INDDs of a book (INDB) in one place

In order to export a book to EPUB, I need all export tags (classes) to be perfectly consistent even if the styles they are assigned to aren’t (and deliberately so, which is why they can’t be simply synced via book sync).

Currently there seems to be no other way than to open “Edit all export tags” from the panel menu in every single INDD of the book (which of course is already a huge progress compared to opening every single paragraph and character style).

Please let us edit the export tags on book level for all INDDs of a book.…

  3. Microsoft Office Compatibility

Documentation, documents and colors in Microsoft Word document come in differently.

It would be much better for us to work more with Office programs.

    Please fix it.

  4. persian language support

I am a translator and once in a while, I am to write in Persian, having it added so I can check the spelling and all would be nice.

  6. Show description text when choosing existing document to update.

The Publish Online feature has been really useful for my company--we create brochures for specific clients or potential clients, and provide them access to the electronic version of the brochure.

Most of our brochures are based on a single template, but are altered slightly to meet the needs of the specific client. We always enter a fairly generic document title in the Document Settings fields of the Publish Your Document Online window, because that title is shown at the bottom of the page when the document is accessed by the end user.

We then use the "Description" window to capture…

  7. asset managers for images

Have an option to directly import from desktop to CC libraries images (jpg, etc.) to have them ready available to insert into the document. As well have an oversight of which images/graphic have been already used in the document.

This would facilitate creation of photo-books, catalogues, encyclopaedias, etc. Any sort of document where certain assets are to be used, especially when multiple similar assets are available and they have to be chosen according to the rest of the layout

  8. Snap Tabs to document grid / Distribute Tabs

I think it would be great when setting Tabs, this would snap to the document grid. Saves a lot of time in contrast to setting each tab numerically.
Another great addition would be the possibility to Distribute tabs. Comes in handy with imported text where sequential standard tabs were used.

  9. Weird grey objects appearing on pages

I updated my OS today -- and I'm having major problems with InDesign. For one, it's running slowly. More distressing, however, are the strange dark grey angular objects that are appearing on pages. They appear and then disappear and then reappear. See attached screenshots. Those grey objects are NOT part of my page design. I have no idea where they are coming from. This is a file created two months ago, and this is the first time I've encountered this problem. I'm using InDesign CC.

  10. Add a feature that allows you to predefine paragraph style spacing based on which style comes before or after it

I have set up some paragraph styles in my InDesign document that have space-before and space-after set on them. Some of the styles are for headers. When the headers precede a regular paragraph, I want the space to be there, but when they precede another header, I want there to be less space. In web development, I can write rules in CSS that say things like this:

    p { margin-top:10px; }
    h2 + p { margin-top:5px }

I am able to make the margin-top narrower on a <p> tag that is immediately preceded by an <h2> tag, but otherwise, it's…

  12. Load automatically the maximun ink (TAC) from the CMYK working space profile in the separations preview palette

Load automatically the maximun ink (TAC) from the CMYK working space profile in the separations preview palette.

It would be a nice feature if InDesign could load automatically the maximun ink (TAC) from the CMYK working space profile in the separations preview palette. Sometimes it is quite difficult to find that value inside the profile and if you are working with different requirements, as some prepress workshops do, having that preloaded would avooid many troubles.

    Thanks :)

A TOA is a table containing the name of all cases, statutes and other authorities used in the document and the page reference.

One complex is that the reference in the table may be slighly different from that in the text.

  15. Live preview for alignment when using spaces

There is an option to specify the size of the space between objects when aligning an object. It would be fine if there was also an option to check preview.

    To Adobe

First thank you for all the excellent programs. The latest feature that has excited me is "Publish Online" in In Design. Here, everyone - especially Apple's unreasonable blockages - is removed.
Especially the blocking of iFrame that is the prerequisite for opening youtube.

However, a very crucial feature is missing in InDesign / Publish Online. You can not use a membership function (as far as I know), such as Paid Memberships Pro in WordPress, and it is crucial that, for example, as a producer of educational materials, I can get a necessary earnings.

  17. Threaded Text Overflow between Documents

I often work on publications 500-1,500+ pages in length, which requires me to use several documents, threading text full of graphics in each document. I cannot contain everything in one document (too large, will crash, even though all graphics are linked rather than embedded). If there was a way to automatically allow text to overflow into new documents after a set amount of pages per document, that would be amazing. It would save me tons of time when manipulating content and then aligning before preflight. You could even keep it to where this feature only works if used in Book…

  18. Selectable Document Font Folder

I've been waiting for a long time for the Document-font folder to be out of sync with the Indesign document. One should be able to determine the place itself.
If I have many Indesign Docs (in campaigns sometimes several hundred) I have to either install the fonts or just in any folder where an Indesign Doc is located in a document font folder.

  20. Dual Screen Modal Support

    Dual Screen Modal Support.

It's frustrating that apps that are so frequently updated miss the blindingly obvious.

How about real dual screen support for your modal UI.

This is the case across Photoshop and Indesign (most likely, several other products).

In this screen capture - the cursor is selected on 'tint' on a second monitor (right hand side) slide lever is on a different monitor, on the left.

Pretty frustrating, what's the point of having dual monitors, if your software doesn't support such a basic fundamental.

    Regards, Paul.
