Option to turn hard coded navigation arrows on and off
I would love to be able to turn the prev next arrows off when not required. They can interfere with the design appearance of a publication.
It made it worse when Adobe made the arrows even thicker!
It should be easy to do for Adobe. Again Ajar In5 can do this. Indesign should be able to do it natively1 vote -
Snapping with groups
Allow snapping within groups. Once you click into a group, snapping to other items in the group does not work. Oddly enough, snapping still works to items outside of group. Most of the time, when I'm moving items within a group I want snapping to items in that group not outside it.

Set zero point by selecting the intersection of a horizontal and vertical ruler guide
Set zero point by selecting the intersection of a horizontal and vertical ruler guide followed by a keyboard shortcut. Saves time spent dragging from the top left corner to the intersecting guides

Make All Styles Explicit and Accessible
Currently we can open a pallet for Object Styles, Paragraph Styles, Character Styles, Table Styles, Cell Styles, and of course Style Packs.
We need to be able to access TOC styles, Caption Styles, Image Styles, Effect Styles, Animation Styles, Group Styles, Text Frame Styles, Image Frame Styles, Fill Styles (swatches), Stroke Styles, .Basically, anything that contains a defined set of characteristics that can be interchangeably applied to various objects..
That is to say that styles must be interchangeable with other like styles. For example, you can apply any paragraph style to any paragraph. Every paragraph style will work on every…

Export Share for Review Comments
Our Engineering department needs to be able to track the comments made on documents which are shared for review as part of their audit procedure.
It would be great if after the document has been shared for review and the Engineering team provide their feedback, they could then export the pdf along with all of the comments.

Remember last selected section in Preferences
Remember the last selected section in the Preferences window.
For example, if I selected File Handling then clicked OK in the Preferences window, File Handling should be selected the next time I open Preferences.
Right now it always defaults to General. While in many cases I want to use the last preferences section I used before when I open the Preferences window.

Merge Across
In Excell, you can highlight several columns and there is an option to "Merge Across" where it will merge each row individually for the entire column. I'm working with a list of items that includes some html tags that InDesign treated as tabs, so it turned them into extra columns. In order to get them back to what they should be, I'm forced to merge each row individually, whereas this feature would allow me to highlight the original and extra columns and merge them all at once, keeping them in each of their rows.

Author name of PDF annotation exported from InCopy notes must not contain date & time
When exporting from InCopy to PDF with “Include Notes As Annotations” checked, the author name of each PDF annotation should not have the note’s date and time appended as a suffix. Doing so effectively attributes each annotation to a different author and makes PDF comment filtering based on author name (or datetime, would that filter eventually exist) impossible. I consider this a bug.
The date and time of a note should instead be stored in the “modification date & time” metadata of the PDF annotation, which Acrobat populates and displays for annotations created with itself.

wrap the first line of text around an anchored object
Please please give me the option to wrap the first line of text around an anchored object. It could even just be a checkbox in the Anchored Object options window. I run into this problem all the time and the band-aid fixes of manually adjusting the indent or trying to put the image at the bottom of the previous line of text take so much unnecessary time.

Gradients saved in Library
Is there a way that gradients can be added to the Adobe Library, like how we can add gradients to colors/swatches? I spend a lot of time making gradients in InDesign that are part of branding for the clients I work with. Being able to save the custom gradients to the Library through InDesign to be used in other Adobe programs would be a huge help.

Page cycle for PDF imports
- When I import a PDF into InDesign I'd like to see arrows alongside the circular content grabber to cycle to the next page of the PDF rather than re-importing the same PDF and selecting the correct page in the options dialog box
- Saves time, less work to import different pages from the same file already imported

Reinstate the Publish Online button in the top bar please!
This shortcut button to the Publish Online function was one of my most frequently used, and for some strange reason, in the latest version 18.5, it has been removed.
I can't see any reason why it can't remain where it was, very conveniently situated in the top bar beside the Share button.
The new option slows down what was one of my most frequently used functions... I do hope this isn't just 'change for change's sake'??
Anyone else find this change unecessary and annoying?3 votes -
Share for Review - Option for reviewers to toggle single page and spread view.
It would be great if the review online interface had the option to view the project as spreads or as single pages.
My coworkers who review prefer to make notes/revisions as single pages, but the publications I create are designed as spreads. It's a pain to go through and share as single pages and then move them back to spreads as I work. It would save me from exporting extra PDF samples to show full layouts when there is so much back and forth.

Improve the preview quality for effects like drop shadows a.s.o.
When applying an effect like drop shadow to an item, the preview is always bad - even in high quality preview. I have to write a PDF to see if the shadow looks like I want it to. Especially with very small/thin shadows, the preview is always pixelated. Please improve that

Select multiples image via Links pallet and set to "multiply"
I design auction catalogues with upwards of 350 images per catalogue. We often have auction lot numbers and text close to the image so I like to select images to Multiply so no text is accidentlly hidden. I manually have to do per each spread. It would be nice to do in one step by selecting all images in links palette and setting to Multiply.

Package convert images to specific format
For architects, urban designers, and artists, InDesign has become an essential tool. However, our needs differ from those of graphic designers, introducing unique challenges. We often maintain specific folder structures for original files, repurposing them for various mediums - be it print, websites, or emails. For instance, when delivering a poster, it's inefficient to include large PSD images in both the 'links' folder and another location. Notably, for academic submissions, recipients often don't require layered files; they need images suitable for websites, emails, etc. Considering that most competition or submission layouts remain static after submission, a "convert images to a…
