  1. Please bring back Indesign CS6 feature of Footnote Leading to be at zero so that We can have inline footnotes.

Please bring back the Indesign CS6 feature of Footnote Leading can be made at zero so that We can have inline footnotes. (Multiple vertical footnotes can be made in the same line horizontally to save space). Please see the attached file as an example. Currently, all the CC Indesign versions by default put a space between footnotes vertically (Leading). No matter what it does not allow the multiple footnotes to be in the same line horizontally. That is like deleting a very useful feature and reducing the capabilities of Indesign for Publishing industry formatters like us.

  2. Feature to manage plug ins?

I am using version 16.2 and I cannot find any way to remove a dead plug-in that a colleague left attached to a template.

  3. Complete integration of InDesign Form and Acrobat Form

Scenario: The client needs content changes after approving design/form process -- that means I scrap all of my acrobat calculations in the form fields to make the changes in InDesign.

It would be great(!) if InDesign supported either a "round-trip" editing process or has all of the features of Acrobat forms. I really don't care to edit in Acrobat, because InDesign is far superior for layout of complicated forms, with more editing tools, master pages, layers, etc.

As a side note, I think a really great feature would include a "form cell" style, for both character and paragraph. It is…

  5. Provide UI scaling slider in Indesign like you do in Illustrator

UI scaling like in illustrator: https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator/indesign-and-illustrator-ui-too-small/m-p/9722830

thanks! it will be much easier for my eyes since right now, the buttons are quite small for me!

  6. Interactive features retained when PDFs placed in InDesign

When PDFs are placed into an INDD layout, and then the layout is exported to a new PDF, all of the interactive features in the 1st (or source) PDF are removed:

-- Hyperlinks in the source PDF
-- Buttons in the source PDF
-- Accessibility tags and functions in the source PDF

It's as if the PDF is treated like a dead graphic. All of the interactive features built into it are lost and must be recreated manually in Acrobat.

Two excellent examples of how disastrous this is for designers:

    1) When a magazine places a PDF of an advertiser's…

  7. snapping

I would like for InDesign to snap my objects to the grids and margins I made instead of to random spots right next to it, as seen in the image I attached. I work in a document for print, so it is not snapping to pixels or whatever.

It snaps to random stuff and every **** textbox or image is a ton of work. When making magazines at high speed this really slows me down so much that I want to look into other software to do the job as Adobe is clearly nog the right partner to do this.

  8. Be able to access loaded place cursor.

When you place multiple images they are in the loaded place cursor until you place all of them. If you do not place all of them it is not possible to get back to the loaded cursor with the rest of the images.

Being able to access the loaded place cursor with remaining images either through a shortcut or interface would be great.

  9. Does Boot Camp Work on the M1 Macs?

Sadly, the short answer is no. It’s probably not what fans of the M1 chip want to hear but because Apple switched away from the Intel models to Apple silicon and decided to kill the Boot Camp assistant, the old way of running Windows on Macs is not possible.

There is a bit of method to perceived madness here. To take on Intel and create their own chip, Apple decided to go with the ARM chip instead of the Intel-created x86 architecture. It has been a while since Apple introduced ARM chips to power their phone and tablet range so…

  10. Capacity to ignore external plug-in

    Hi all.
I have a work made in Aquafadas (now Rakuten). The plug-in for digital publishing will not be developer again because the brand wil close the business. So, I switch the plug-in to another one (InPublishing) and everything goes fine on 2020. But with InDesign 2021 it seems to be impossible to work. InDesign 2021 made a ceck on files and it seems impossibile to add a file made with a plug-in that is not installed on a Book.
That's very stupid, because It seems that I cannot work with 2021 because the original plug-in is not installed. BTW…

  12. Repeat Table header?Skip the first row of the first table instead of the whole header of the first page

Duplicate header, there is an error.

Can I skip the first line of the header instead of the whole header.

What's the point of skipping the whole header on the first page?

My header has two lines. I skip the first line on the first page, which is more useful. How to operate?

David Blatner used a method, helpless, no real perfect solution.

    Adobe needs to improve.

Skip the first row of the first table instead of the whole header of the first page

  13. Pdf with images folder paths links

Sometimes we work on big catalogues with lots of images. And sometimes those images are located in various folders accross our servers and we cannot move them until the work is done.
Lots of times my post production coworkers, to speed up the work, ask me the folder path of some images, and i need every time to open the catalogue, search the image and check the links panel to tell him the right folder path.

I'm asking to put an option, when we create pdf's, to automatically insert the folder path over every image inside the pdf.

    I made…

  14. Caption setting: Why paragraph style, not object style?

Caption setting: Why paragraph style, not object style?

Its "displacement" is not very easy to use, I generally still need object style to control the caption.

If you can use object styles directly, it's easy? Because object styles can call paragraph styles, there are more settings.

I hope Adobe will pay attention to this problem.

  15. Enable relative searches, e.g. 'point size more than 10 pts' or 'space before less than 6 pts'

You can use the Find Text and Find Grep features to look for certain constant values, e.g 'point size 12 pts', 'tracking 75', 'space before 6 pts'.

But it's not possible to search for relative values, e.g. 'point size less than 12pts'. And it's not possible to do negative, e.g. search for certain text in paragraphs that do not have a certain paragraph style applied.

These features would make it much easier to find text with missing or incorrectly applied formatting, and generally would mean that the search scope can be specified more flexibly, which in turn means that InDesign's…

  16. More relevant Share for Review page title

I've recently started using the Share for Review feature which is great, however when sharing the link on Skype (as well as other messaging platforms I'd assume), it shows the link title as “Your Work | Adobe Creative Cloud” which isn’t very accurate or helpful to whoever I’m sharing the review page with.

It would be ideal if the HTML title of the review page could contain the title I input when I set up the review page, so that the link preview is much more relevant for someone you might be sharing it with.

  17. Define increased/decreased italicisation/***** and weight relatively (independent of font) on Character Styles

If I'm defining a Character Style called "Emphasis", essentially I want to be able to apply this to any text in the document and for that text to be italicised.

    However, this doesn't work because:

    • I might apply it to a font where the italic style is called "Oblique" not "Italic"
    • I might apply it to a font set in Medium. Now it returns to a regular weight with Italics, rather than Medium Italic.

There needs to be a way to define "Increased/Decreased Italicisation/*****" or "Increased/Decreased Weight" on a Character Style. InDesign would then:

    • Find the Italic style that most…

  18. stylistic alternates

Please make it so that OpenType stylistic alternates can be accessed through paragraph and/or character styles. For instance, my OT font has an alternate form of capital W which I prefer to the default form. It is listed in the Glyphs panel as Stylistic Alternates (salt). However, there is no way to activate this alternate W without manually replacing all default capital Ws with the alternate form I prefer. And even when I do that, reapplying a Paragraph Style to any paragraph where I've changed the W will revert the W to the default. I would like to at least…

  19. Allow individuals to print or save PDF from Share For Review link

Currently you are unable to accurately print a document shared for review directly from InDesign in the cloud service. There should be a toggle to enable the option to do so from the individual sharing the file. Many people like to physically markup documents in addition to their digital comments.

  20. Allow login from multiple adobe accounts on the same machine at the same time.

My job pays for InDesign and I pay for Photoshop/Lightroom. The fact that I cannot just have both logins running at the same time is insane. I have started paying for InDesign personally because it was just easier.
