  1. Make the 'next page' button in the bottom left have a drop down to toggle it between next page and next spread.

When scrolling through a document now, the view jumps between let and right. It might be less disorientating to switch quickly through the spreads than jumping left and right.

  2. Add length property to Indesign DOM

Please add a readonly length property to all shapes, paths and lines which contains the total length. This property should be accessible using scripting... This is already present in Illustrator ... https://forums.adobe.com/message/10130793#10130793

  3. Break Footnotes Marker

If long footnotes breaks on two pages autoinsert some symbol on end of first part and some symbol on the beginning of the second part. Would also be nice to have the possibility to choose a glyph for these markers.

  4. GREP query to remove whitespace before sentence

Along with a query for removing trailing whitespace, one is needed for preceding whitespace. The workaround of searching for ^p+space does not work in all instances, especially in tables.

  5. Image frames grow in height or width

Similar to the options that we have for text boxes, Autosize to height, width, both etc, could we do the same for images and then use the fit to frame options to control how the text boxes grow.

i.e you import and landscape image into a image holder, it is set to fit to height, but then the width grows or shrinks accordingly to fit the image. this can then effect text wrap.

  6. Apply controlable gradients within table rows, coloums and cells.

Is it possible to have easily adjustable gradient fills in rows, coloums and cells within Indesign tables?

  7. Make Table preview faster

Complex tables are REALLY low to preview in InDesign. I have a table 45 rows by 7 columns, and if I nudge it, it takes 5 seconds to preview. Then I nudge again... another 5 seconds. This SLOW table preview has been happening on all kinds of documents, for years. Please speed it up.

  8. Delete unused-variables

Unfortunately the UI- and the Handling of variables is quiet different to all other menues and function in InDesign. And so theres still no way to delete "unused" variables.

While handling an document over several years - e.g. a typical product-catalog or price list - the variables-list grows from year to year as there are every year new products which need a variable. After some years it is not practical to have a list with 500 variables but only 100 are used.
It would be very appreciated if the complete handling of variables could be like in all other menues.

  9. Previously saved versions of a document

It would be very helpfull if InDesign stored a log of previously saved versions of one particualr document. For example, if I have worked on a file for multiple weeks and oversaved all of the changes that were made to the document, but then suddenly the client wanted to have some of the changes undone I could easily find the version where those changes hadn't been done. That would save the hassle of saving multiple documents or whole buch of additional pages inside the document.

  11. How to export multiple InDesign files to PDF

    Hi.

How to export multiple InDesign files with different formats to multiple PDFs. Is there a Drag & Drop feature directly from InDesign documents to create PDFs in this way?

  12. Arrange Paragraph border and shading

I would be better to have an option to arrange paragraph border and shading as like other objects arranging feature.

  14. Limiting table row height limit

Hi, I always encounter this in InDesign. The table row has height limit and would not allow me to adjust it further for longer contents. My workaround is to use shape made as a content holder. (see attached file)

  16. Add Mini-glyph panel and OpenType adornment in World Ready composer.

Add Mini-glyph panel and OpenType adornment in World Ready composer. There is no raison that we can't use this features on Hebrew or Arabic. For me (and others) OpenType features in Hebrew fobts (glyphs alternates, Justification Alternates, stylic sets, etc...) And for me (and other) are much more needed in Hebrew that in Latin.

  17. Extended "apply next stlye" feature

I'm looking for a feature where you can force-apply the "next style".
tl;dr: Force the "apply next style" to existing and already style paragraphs.
For example: When you create a headline-style and define another stlye as following "next stlye" everything is fine as long as you enter your text in InDesign. But if you're working with a text that is already written you don't want to use the option "apply style and next stlye" with every single headline. I want it to be automated.
What I want is: A feature that forces any already styled paragraphes to apply the next…

  18. For documents that are "name-heavy", it would be great to be able to have the option within spellcheck to skip a page or skip a text box!

  19. Tool to check for if Adobe Creative Cloud Network Endpoints are being blocked by firewall

For those of us deployed in large organisations with indifferent IT departments.
It would be useful in Adobe provided a tool to check which of the (100+?) required Adobe Creative Cloud Network Endpoints were blocked by our firewall.
It is not always clear which endpoint is being blocked.
If Adobe provided a Creative Cloud App or web tool that checked your network and then provided a nice report we could present to the stubborn IT bods (who insist they have whitelisted all 100+ adobe links)

(let not get started on why there have to be so many! Or why therer…

  20. Shutterstock watermark alert

The Shutterstock plugin is a great tool for easy access to the image database. Drag and drop the desirable picture into the lay-out.
It would help if watermark pictures would be detected while exporting to pdf.
