Shorthand Styles Panel
If someone doesn’t want to have to type the words 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑘 𝑦𝑜𝑢 over and over, they simply click 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭 > 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 > 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭 > 𝐀𝐝𝐝:
𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝: ty
𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: thank youThat is the typical way users do it. If Adobe can make a new panel called 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞𝐬 that would be helpful. It would function almost like 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞𝐬 but be it’s own separate entity:
1. Select the words 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑘 𝑦𝑜𝑢 with your 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐫 (or you can select as many words as you want)
2. Click 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞𝐬
3. Then, click 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐬𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞
4. 𝐒𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐦𝐞: Compliments

Ability to Change Pencil Size
In Share for Review, I have found that the pencil size is incredibly too large for pointing out small areas of text in a document with a lot of body text. An option to decrease the size of the pencil stroke would be great. Thanks!

Option to replace a master page that is being deleted with a different master page
When working on long documents, especially while using the book feature, it would be helpful to have the option to replace one master with another. So if I want to delete "Master A", a dialog box would say "Remove Master A and replace with: [list of other master pages to choose from]".
Currently if I want to remove a master page and replace it, I have to go through all 900 of my pages and apply the replacement master.

Allow user to change default color of Ruler Guides
For those of us with color-blindness issues (and it's my belief that there's a lot more of us than you think...), there really needs to be a simple preference switch for the default Ruler Guide color to be changeable. It should be so simple to just go into Prefs & select the guide color we can actually see, then simply carry on working. But currently it's a complete ball-ache every time to have to go into 'Layout > Ruler Guides > Change color > Ok'. The current 'long-way-round' change guide color process is just an added frustration to every job!…

Ability to sync text variables via Creative Cloud Libraries
Similar to another suggestion here requesting the ability to import .csv content as variables: it would also be useful to be able to insert a text variable into an InDesign document from an external source such as Creative Cloud Libraries. This would enable a simple central location for variable information (eg prices, product specs etc) that could then be used across multiple documents. Updating the central data would then update all 'linked' variables when an InDesign document is opened, removing the need to manually update and the subsequent risk of human error.

Notification Settings
Getting notified for every single comment seems like over kill in some cases, especially in the early parts life of a document where I can be receiving multiple comments on one page. If Adobe can add a setting where the owner can toggle how many comments can be posted before a notification gets sent out that would be great. Or have a "notify" button that when pushed will send a notification out.

all Adobe apps become the most crashing
year by year all Adobe apps become the most crashing in this digital world. now even photoshop is the best crasher which overtook all time great crasher InDesign. i don't want to share any ideas about this permanent error which already infected almost all other adobe apps.

Content Aware Bleed
Many files I receive have images placed cropped to the border of pages and when the box is expanded there is no more image there. I would like a function that knows the bleed area, enlarges the image box, and fills in the appropriate image bleed data. This would be similar to the Crop tool in Photoshop with content aware checked on. Perhaps this could be done on an additional layer on top of the current image.

Thesaurus
Hi
I have just spent 1.5 hours on a chat with your team re using a thesaurus function in InDesign (which there isn't one)
In design is a great product and amazingly intuitive with (almost) all the functions you need to create great documents however to use a simple function like a thesaurus I need to export to a .icml thingy which creates individual files for every chapter or section (filling up my files). Then you have to open each section individually in InCopy, which then creates a document that looks more like a 80' dot-matrix print out with no…9 votes -
Interactive Form Fields need to be fully editable (i.e. Color, paragraph styles, Sample Text)
When exporting an Interactive PDF from InDesign, we still need to be able to assign Colors and Paragraph Styles AND retain the FPO copy we have typeset in the Text box.
For example, in my attached screenshot, when I choose to export as an Interactive PDF, I need to see all of the copy within the box show up exactly as shown. I have it set up so that it still feels slightly designed (despite being a form) and worded so that the client can follow along and replace certain parts with specific language. Right now upon export, this copy…

Allow object style to be added to cc libraries
Allow object styles to be added to CC libraries just like paragraph and character styles. with my paragraph styles panel open all I have to do is select a style and the double square with and arrow icon in the bottom left corner to add to my current selected library. I'm asking to be able to do the same thing with object styles.

Add Space Before on Column Top checkbox
Currently the ‘Space Before’ value is ignored when that paragraph appears on the top of any container—frame/column.
There are innumerable occasions when we need the above space settings to be honoured even when the paragraph appears on the top of the column. We InDesigners resort to various antics and workaround like keeping an ‘Invisible Rule Above’ or use a character style with extra leading etc..
It is very easily solved by a simple checkbox in the Indents and Spacing tab just below ‘Space Before’ selection which says ‘Add Space Before on column top’. If checked, the value will always be…

Paragraph border and splitted columns
When working with the paragraph border option, its impossible to split the columns and make it look decent, without a huge workaround.
It would be great if the "split column" options could habe a checkbox like "do not split paragraph border" or so.

column rules length option to set frame-based
I want the option to make the length of the column rules always the same as when there is no text.
Currently, the length of a column rule changes with the amount of text, but I want an option that always makes this frame-based. This is the same as drawing with no text in the text frame.

When choosing to link a button to a page, remove hard coding of links to a page even if it gets moved.
I have discovered an "error" or possible limitation of an existing feature when linking to pages through buttons.
For example, I set a button to go to page 9. Later I drug that content to a new location in the document (page 2), thus changing it's page number. However, the button no longer went to the content that was now on page 9, it jumped to the content that was original there when I set that button.
Can we have the set page number option just link to the current page even if content was moved around after setting up…

Text form field with several columns
In the case of a text form field, text areas that extend over several columns are automatically recognised and can also be continued in the form.
Good for the following use case: If templates are created where the text is displayed in columns, it would be good if the form fields could also be linked together. So that the maximum number of characters is automatically distributed over the specified number of columns.

Need an Ignore button for Missing Fonts in imported PDF Image files, like JPGs.
Have an Ignore button for Missing Fonts in imported JPG PDF's.
When graphic PDF's are imported Indesign tries to recognise the fonts when there are no fonts there, like the name of a street sign or shop sign.. If I don't want it to recognize PDF imports there should be a button to ignore font substitutions. Instead I often get a hindered font errors where non exist and no way to clear them.
Have verified with Adobe InDesign and Adobe PDF technical support that there is no way to ignore these errors and it needs to be a "Feature"2 votes
