Scalable UI feature is now available in the latest version of InDesign – InDesign 2022. Please get the latest version of InDesign from the Creative Cloud Desktop app. — Adobe InDesign team
James supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment James commentedThis feature has been requested for years and years (well before CreativeCloud came along) and has been thus far ignored. I don't expect that to change any time soon... but it really needs addressing.

Adobe InDesign teamJames supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment James commentedBug still exists in 1.5.1.1 - and no, I do not have Adobe World Composer set, so that's not the problem (or the workaround). I also have no apps with "secure text entry" as an option, and it is not turned on in the macOS 10.15.5 Terminal app.
An error occurred while saving the comment James commentedHow is it that this bug is back in 15.1? By my count, this same bug has been fixed at least twice already in the last few years.

Hello All,
Thank you for your patience all this while; we really appreciate your support!
Our investigation suggests that one of common reasons for the problem is that certain software (mostly antivirus and other security applications) and browser extensions happen to enable “Secure Keyboard Entry” on Mac machines due to which some keys such as Shift key in this case do not perform the desired action in InDesign.
For now I request you to follow the below provided KB doc for the quick workaround of the problem.
https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/features-do-not-work-keyboard-keys-mac.htmlIn the comments section many of the users have confirmed that disabling Webroot SecureAnywhere (a security app) has resolved the issue for them. Please note that, the problem may not be related to a particular software; there could be a different application or antivirus which might be causing the problem by enabling Secure Keyboard Entry on Mac.

This is one of the features of Affinity Publisher I LOVE. I think it would need the ability to "lock" the column once you adjust the width, though. Accidentally changing the column width would be a little to easy to do accidentally without a lock feature.
