Adobe InDesign teamAn error occurred while saving the comment Debra Johnson commentedHave we established if this error occurs when the InDesign file is located on a server, or saved locally?
Is it something to do with the containing folder's permissions?
It's weird how some people say that small PDFs work but high quality PDFs fail? Is there a problem with the large postscript file that's generated in the background?
An error occurred while saving the comment Debra Johnson commentedThis has been my bug bear for some time.
When you get a PDF failure, there is absolutely no explanation why it failed.
I notice if you export an interactive PDF you get the dialogue window which explains which pages are getting processed, so when an error occurs, you at least know where in the document the problem is likely to be.
When you export to PDF the normal way and get a PDF error, it would be good if you could get some kind of explanation.

An error occurred while saving the comment Debra Johnson commentedA wee handy tip until the Adobe staff decide to make this a feature is to change your Placeholder text in your Master Pages to text that the spellcheck will not query. Place the attached text file loose in your Applications folder.
Of course there might be some headers and stuff that the Spellcheck will not know, but maybe add them to your dictionary.
But yeah - please Adobe - make this a feature so we don't have to do any workarounds!

Adobe InDesign teamAn error occurred while saving the comment Debra Johnson commentedI agree with making this feature available in the text frame options, under the gutter information.
You could have have tick box options to:
align it to cap height/baseline etc.,
centre on gutter,
align left/right on gutterAllow us to choose the line style, weight and colour.

When I duplicate a page with placed items, they duplicate but scale down in increments per duplication until they disappear into the centre of the page.
Yep - unticking 'Adjust Layout' stops it from happening, but it's extremely annoying and should be fixed.
