Adobe InDesign teamAn error occurred while saving the comment cb commentedUH NO, not fixed. still happening and it's been happening for past few years on this 2020 iMac 5K and 2 older different iMacs btw.
I get all the red & black (and sometimes other colors) bizarre artifacts that appear on the layout work area too -- all different cpus & graphics cards & operating systems. on a regular basis.
and just updated to latest indesign 18.2.1 & Monterey 12.6.5 and now have a persistent black box across the bottom of the indesign workspace, like a bar hovering there.

This is a macOS10.13 issue, specific for some Intel GPU cards. Apple has fixed(partially) this issue inside macOS10.13.4 released build.
Following are the workaround for resolving this issue.
1) Update your mac machine to latest macOS10.13.4. Here, Apple has fixed this issue to some extent. You will face very less number of rendering issues.
2) Disable GPU preview and set display performance as typical.Once you have updated to macOS10.13.4 .You might still face some rendering issues. Since, Apple has not fixed this issue completely.
Please switch off GPU rendering for these cases and report a separate post for tracking.cb supported this idea · -

Eyedropper again started working correctly after deleting Master Page. A transparent box was covering the text (see Comments).
