Undo Not Working properly in InDesign 2020
InDesign CC 2020 Undo goes back to last saved version. It does not go back one step with Command-Z. Therefore, I lose all edits made since last save. It also crashes frequently

The fix for this issue is now available in the latest update of InDesign – that is, InDesign 15.0.2.
Please update your InDesign application to get this fix.

Ok
I have just installed the beta build 15.0.2.304 as suggested.
Undo seems to be working as it should now.
I have tested this on documents that used autosizing text frames and where the undo bug was present. So far it looks like the bug has been squashed.
Thanks.

Undoing from the menu seems to work properly with the previous build

I, too, was experiencing the "no undo" issue along with others, so I stepped back to version 15.0 and issues went away (for now). Also, I can open documents recently created in 15.0.1, which is a relief. Won't be updating this software again until I am certain that it's bug-free.
BTW: Another weird symptom was this strange little box within the text box I was trying to edit. The text was confined to this box-in-box until I double-clicked on it. Then it abruptly populated the entire 'primary' text box. Insanity!
I tried to upload a file but after a few hours of loading icon going around and around, I gave up.

This bug has been getting me ever since updating to indesign 2020.
I'm on mac OS high sierra but my boss is on the newer OS and we have recreated it on his computer too.I figured out how to re-create the problem precisely. It's to do with auto sizing text boxes and happens every time you try to flow on text from a text frame or a table (i.e when you hit that little red plus icon on the bottom right). It only happens if your default (or selected) text frame object style (the one you're going to flow the text to) has auto sizing turned on (mine was set to height)......... then you will break all the undo functionality after that, in current document you can only cmd + z back to that buggy 'load placed cursor' attempt. in any other documents, undo will be greyed out, even if you start a brand new one.
Try to close a document now with cmd + w and the whole thing will crash.... (thankfully, as you need an indesign restart to get any undo functionality back after that.)ADOBE people it needs to be fixed urgently .... at least for now I know and can turn off the auto size by default, but I use it all the time so this is very annoying.

Any news on this, guys?
I have to use an older version until this incredibly annoying bug is fixed.Unrelated to indesign but annoying none the less:
Why the heck does file upload not work in these comments? Several times I have tried to upload an indesign document with this particular problem but nothing gets uploaded. Just my text comment. -

It happens to me also! And it isn't isolated to a single document. I tried to restart InDesign and also my Mac. But to no correction!

This Undo glitch is a HUGE mistake in Indesign 2020. All it requires for Admin to test it is to open any Indesign document in 2020 (v15) and add some text and or shapes/boxes, anything planned or random. Do several steps and then hit Undo. You will NOT get an incremental step backward, but it will always return to the point where the document was last saved. All the steps in between will be lost.

This issue needs to be fixed, a lot of work is being lost. I keep redoing the same work over and over.
The only solution so far is to keep saving document every couple minutes. then even if it reverts to the previous version and you quit InDesign without saving the document at that point, and then reopen the document, the latest saved version will open, but I still press undo every time I need it automatically, without thinking. -

I can't share my buggy file due to client confidentiality but this is now happening to me too. The buggy file is a book-length doc with lots of paragraph styles. I updated to 2020 several weeks ago and this is the first file where the bug has shown up. From what I can tell it doesn't revert to the last saved version, but rather to some indeterminate earlier version of the file (always the same point, but I can't tell why it's going back to that particular point). I lose all changes that were made after that point, including new pages, new styles, changes to masters, etc.
I am working on a late 2013 Mac, 10.14.6. This is an incredibly frustrating bug and I hope a fix is released soon.

Same issue. Undo just reverts to the state when the document when opened.
