I just noticed that with InDesign 14.0.2 GPU support no longer works on a Mac Pro with AMD Radeon R9 280X. Up to ID 14.0.1 everything was fine.
MacOS High Sierra 10.13.6 with last security update. Any hints about that?
In Photoshop GPU is working. -

Adobe InDesign is the best possible application in the best of all possible worlds! So...
• Quit complaining.
• Keep the shekels flowing to San Jose.
• Be happy that you're allowed to use Adobe AnyThing! So what if my Sapphire Pulse RX 580 with 8GB DDR exceeds Adobe's InDesign/Apple requirements?
So what if my GPU card supports OpenCL 2.1 and OpenGL 4.5?
So what if scrolling around my pages makes my images render like an Atari 8-bit display?
It's ONLY $50/month!
Honestly, after all this, I'm switching back to CS6. I've had enough. Thankfully I can Time Machine my way back to Sierra/High Sierra. Then I can use that monthly $50 and put it toward an "HiDPI Monitor."

Same issue. Mac Pro with AMD FirePro 300 no longer supported for GPU Performance, even though previous versions used it just fine. Also, InDesign CC 2019 is crawling on both my 8-core Mac Pro with 64 GB RAM and high spec 2017 MacBook Pro.
This is tragic for Adobe.

The standard Mac Pros AMD Radeon FirePro D300 ist also not compatible with InDesign CC 2019.
(Mac OS Mojave/2560x1440 pixel Monitor)
How can it be that InDesign is not compatible with a standard Mac Pro Configuration? Unbelievable.

AMD Radeon FirePro D700, this is the specification.
However, my system is also disabled in Indesign CC 2019. -

I'm still on High Sierra, did the performance get better with Mojave? My MacBook Pro 2016 is really having a tough time with Indesign…

I'm having the same/simulair problem. Photoshop and Illustrator works good, even the 2018 version of InDesign still works. But InDesign CC 2019 says "Compatible GPU and Monitor not detected". Luckly I don't have the problem with the discoloration of icons.

Same problem. Preferences indicate that my GPU and monitor are compatible, but options are greyed out...

It's very slow and jerky after the Mac OS 10.14 update.

Same issue here using Radeon 7950. Supported by Photoshop and Illustrator, but not InDesign. As a result, working with only a few pages heavy with transparencies brings my Mac to a crawl.

I just purchased a 2018 MacBook Pro with the 4GB AMD Radeon Pro 560X video card and 32 GB of RAM. InDesign's Preferences state that I DO HAVE a compatible video card for GPU Performance – but the checkbox to turn it on is grayed out. This is a brand new machine with very little beyond Adobe CC installed on it.

I updated my MacBook Pro to 10.13.5 and now it seems the GPU Performance in inDesign 2018 has been disabled. Wondering if it is related to the update? It still works in Illustrator and Photoshop.
Thanks!
