Document size change/Master page elements appearing on pages where no master page is applied
When changing the page size in Document Setup and ensuring that adjust layout is not selected, master page elements are showing up on pages where master pages are not applied.
Version: INDD CC 2019
Steps to Reproduce: (this does not happen in all cases) In this instance, I changed the document page size in document set up and ensured "Adjust layout" was not selected.
Expected Result: The document page size would change throughout, keeping the same layout as/properties as before.
Actual Result: Master page elements were applied to pages that did not have the master page applied (i.e. header on "E" master page is now present on all pages that did not have a master page applied).

PDF
When placing a PDF of stylized text into ID2019, some text flips upside down. But it works fine in ID2018.

tool
When working with Indesign CC2018 and still in CC2019 on Mac. I can't use the Toolbox/bar on my second monitor connected to my MacBook. When the Toolbox is placed/locked on to the left hand side of the screen, the submenus of all tools (Type, Pen, Pencil etc.) don't open on my secondary monitor, but semi randomly are placed on the display of my MacBook. the only way to "fix" this is to place the Toolbox on the MacBook's display, but that's not the way to go about it...
It has something to do with different resolutions of the two screens, the tool submenus (if the toolbox is docked to the left side of my monitor) get placed outside of the viewable area of the MacBook display. if I place the Toolbox in the middle of my monitor, the tool submenu is placed a certain amount to the left of the toolbox.Strangely enough, Photoshop and Illustrator don't suffer the same problem.

Drop Cap/Nested Style Broken in InDesign CC 2019
Since upgrading to InDesign CC 2019, when I edit a paragraph that has a nested style applied to the first line, the entire paragraph takes on the nested style. The paragraph behaves normally until I edit it. Unfortunately, but unsurprisingly, the behavior is inconsistent. If I copy and paste the text into a new text box, the behavior does not occur, but if I link the existing text to that new box, it continues to happen.

InDesign 2019 not working
The latest version of InDesign (2019, AKA 14.0) has serious flaws and should probably be withdrawn. I see any number of reported problems in the forum that indicate a lot of time being wasted on workarounds and issues that render it unusable. The problems are known and have been acknowledged by tech-support staff. Anyone trying to solve the numerous problems should just go back to your last working version and wait until Adobe posts an upgrade.

content aware fit frame
I just updated to cs2019. Selected the new feature 'content aware fit to frame'. Created a new document and inserted a new frame, tried to place a PDF image, keeps crashing. Turned the feature off and all ok again. Anyone else having this problem?

workspace
After a crash, no workspaces will load properly, neither pre-existing nor created. Right now I have to move between Essentials Classic and Interactive for PDF just to try to get most of the tools - though some tool I still cannot access. There is no top bar and few tools that load, plus the files when they open are sized tiny and hiding. I have to float in window to get them to appear.
I have tried to reset them and create a new workspace, but cannot get anything to help...

Static Endnotes
When importing Word files with Static Endnotes ticked from Word .doc files the endnote indicators within the text are no longer superior. There is no character style to be able to change these back. Without these indicators remaining superior makes the Static Endnotes a waste of time if you work in .doc instead of .docx. We always use .doc files as there are too many bugs using .docx - bits of text missing; loss of italics here and there etc. Using .doc files are always foolproof. We are typesetters manipulating text 12 hours a day and know all the pit falls and .doc files are best. Please could you fix this bug.

Figure numbering skips one number in caption in multi-chapter book
I have created a multi-chapter book. All the page numbers are correct from chapter to chapter. The Index of Figures is correct and sequential.
Chapter 3 contains figures 1 and 2.
Chapter 4 assigns 'figure 4' to the first figure, skipping figure 3.As I said, my Index of figures is correct and lists 'figure 3' with the caption that in the body of the text is assigned to figure 4.
I have tried changing the caption paragraph style bullets and numbering to 'start at' to 3, but then all of the figures in chapter 4 are labeled 'figure 3.'
Please help me, I am desperate.
Thank you in advance.

ID crashes when pasting text
ID becomes very unstable if you copy and paste text from one text box to
another that contains a paragraph style with a nested line format.
If it doesn‘t crash immediately, move around the cursor with the arrow keys and try to paste text again.

ID - CMYK separation preview vs. RGB illustrations
Hey there,
every InDesign Version (my Version Adobe InDesign CC 2018 13.1)
a) open new print CMYK document
b) place a Ai object like .eps or .ai with RGB modus (with a black element – in RGB 0/0/0 – but in CMYK 88/79/65/93)
c) now copy the object and convert the same object into CMYK modus and place them too
d) start the CMYK separation preview in InDesign and disable the black color
e) at the end only the CMYK object is separated and the RGB object is totally awayI wish the RGB object would separated like the rectangle – with the same color – next to the GTIN.
The RGB object doesn't separated like the CMYK object with the same color.
Screenshot
Kind regards and big thanks!

Crash in InCopy corrupts InDesign file
File crashed when writer and designer were making single story InCopy edits back and forth. They made single story edits with no problem, but then tried to export a selection of 12 stories (all on 1 page) by selecting all 12 stories and exporting selection. When the writer opened InCopy to edit the page, it crashed every time she scrolled to that page.
The InDesign file then became corrupt and would crash immediately upon opening. Was able to save a version of the original file with a new name, but various text (on placed library items) is missing on the page the InCopy stories were exported from (see attachment).
The full file (all stories) had previously been in and out of InCopy 2 times without any problem.
About the file (78 page catalog):

Originally created in older version of InDesign, but since has been re-saved as an IDML to update it to be a INDD 2018 file

missing dialog box
When i clicked on the effect (example; gradient feather) for my image, there is no dialog box popping out. I'm unable to click on other tools and I've to use the escape key to close the 'invisible' dialog box before I can use the other tools. Hence, I'm unable to apply any effect on my image.
I'm using the Indesign CC (13.0.1) on Windows.
It feels like it's a programme bug. I've tried to reinstall the programme but it still persists.
Please assist.

Hyperlink shows up red in hyperlinks panel despite the URL working
The following URL shows up in the hyperlinks panel as red (meaning it should not work) but actually works when a PDF is made:
https://academic.oup.com/journals
This is the same for any links based on the above URL.
Is there anything that would cause this?3 votes -
InDesign crashes when highlighting open Acrobat comment text
This is a wild one that has happened multiple times now. InDesign will crash on my machine in the following specific circumstance:
1) I have a text box selected in a file that I want to copy text into,
2) I navigate to an ultimately unconnected PDF in Acrobat that has text I want to copy from,
3) the PDF has an open comment box with currently highlighted text,
4) I try to highlight other text within the comment box in order to copy that instead,
5) and InDesign crashes hard (closes completely). In case it matters, InDesign crashes before I actually copy the newly highlighted text; it happens right when I click on the comment in Acrobat.
Weird.

crash on create merged document
Indesign 2018 cc on mac os 10.12.6, crash on "create merged document" in data merge menu if more than approx 100 records in data file . "export to pdf" works. We have some files that need editing after merge so need this to work. Worked before 2018 update on same files that are causing crashes now. Seems to crash at point its going from a temp file to creating the finished file after the merge has happened. Tries unsucessfully to "recover" a temp file on startup after crash. Is entirely repeatable. System and user usage together never goes above 60% in activity monitor. 2012 Imac with maxed ram and lots of empty hd space.

Basic Functionality breaking on each update
i am really annoyed that Indesign keeps breaking basic functionality when it makes an update. I have used paste without formatting for years without incidence and now it doesn't always work when I need it.
Typing in new frames requires 2 clicks and requires a tweak to the settings to work right?!
I don't want any new functionality if it is going to break things like typing and pasting, many things that used to be one click are now many. That is not how this should work!!!
