InDesign 17.0 crashes on launch after removing a previously installed CEP Extension
Steps to reproduce in InDesign 17.0:
- Install a CEP extension folder manually to ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions
- Launch then quit InDesign
- Delete CEP extension folder installed in step 1
- Launch InDesign, it will crash when "Starting up panels"
As a workaround deleting the following cache folder allows InDesign to launch again.
~/Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign/Version 17.0This was not an issue in ID 16.4

Delete key triggers place command
Since the latest upgrade, the delete key on my Mac triggers the place (Cmd-D) command. I have to hit Fn-Delete to delete anything. Anyone else experiencing this?

Changing default language causes InDesign to crash and language remains unchanged
InDesign v 16.4 & InDesign v 17.0 on macOS Catalina
InDesign keeps crashing when you’re trying to change the default language. Received a large file with French as default and we need to localize it for US market.
Paragraph Styles > [Basic Paragraph] > Advanced Character Formats > Language: French (Change to English: USA) > OK
CRASH
Edit > Find/Change > Find Format > Advanced Character Formats > Language: French > Change Format > Advanced Character Formats > Language: English: USA > Change All
CRASH
The language is suppose to change so that the symbols will be correct. For example all French « » is changed to "" for English USA.
The program keeps crashing.

indd 2022 - black font seperation incorrect in pdf export with some settings
after the update to indd 2022 (which some idiot client editor did in the middle of a magazine before saving and thus up-versioning half the files) I have problems with pdf export. Since acrobat/distiller seems not to have been updated at the same time, I assume the problem is with indd.
When exporting for print, indd exports black print as rich black - regardless of the indd settings - when the export to pdf settings /output / convert to destination (profile) is set.
If I export with / convert to destination (preserve numbers) then black is exported correctly. This is obviously bunk.
thw workaround (half a day to find this) is to export with convert to destination (preserve numbers). Caveat all images needed to be converted manually before export, as a specific output profile was necessary.needless to say everything worked as expected before the 'update'.
Seperation is determined with Acrobat CC preflight ink separations.
I can reproduce the error with a new document, with text cmyk 0 0 0 100 /adobe preset output all blacks accurately /, exported to pdf converted to ISO coated.
With "preserve numbers" the separations in Acrobat are correct, without preserve numbers rich black is exported.System

Font names display inconsistently
This is a strange one: we use this font https://fonts.adobe.com/fonts/lus (you have to put a 't' on the end of that url, Uservoice thinks it's rude, apparently) it's Regular and Display weights. On two computers this shows up as (syntax here is [Font Family] / [Font Style]) Lus(t) / Regular and Lus(t) Display / Regular, respectively. On three others they show up as Lus(t) / Regular and Lus(t) / Display and there seems to be no way to align them.
I've attached a screenshot of how the taskbar shows font on the machines that separate them out.
The first two computers are a Windows 10 desktop and a Mac OS Big Sur Intel laptop; the other three are two Mac OS Catalina iMacs and a Mac OS Big Sur Intel laptop. All running InDesign 2022.
On layouts where the fonts are separated out into different families; the ones which don't separate them out have the fonts in square braces; throw up the Find/Replace fonts dialogue (and fail to find them), and highlight offending instances in pink. But, crucially, they actually display the font correctly on the layout - and will happily export to PDF correctly, without substituting a default font.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Open Type Fractions are Broken
The last several weeks I've not been able to create fractions via Open Type text alternates even though it's set to do that in advanced type preferences and it's not giving me a dropdown option when the fraction is selected as it used to. It also doesn't work via the character window route. I'm using the most up to date CC InDesign 2021.

Table formats don't work at all
ID 2019 - 2021
1. Create a table format with table frame 1 pt and apply to a table without stroke - no change.
2. Create a cell format with 1 pt stroke, nest in the table format and apply - no change. See video.
3. Apply the cell format to a cell - at first no change. You must manually use the button that removes deviations. See the other video. Conclusion: neither table formats nor cell formats correctly override the current formatting of a table.

Hello
I encountered a bug in Indesign when opening the application window for creating or modifying tables of contents, indeed it is disproportionately large, it is impossible to reduce it.
thanks for your help, is this with the new windows update?1 vote -
UI Default Too **** Small!
UI in InDesign 15.0.1 is way too small by default and not scalable. Many users have been complaining about this for years, yet you guys refuse to do anything about it, while charging us up the wazzoo for subscription fees. If this is not addressed soon, we may all abandon you for Canva.

InDesign 2022 crash when updating modified links in an existing document
I just updated to InDesgin CC 17.0. I have a MacBook Pro 2020, with OS 10.15.7. Trying to open an InDesign CS 6 file with modified links to other InDesign documents causes the application to hang up and I have to force quit it. It doesn’t matter if I choose update links or don’t update links in the dialog box. In trying to quit and reopen I did manage to recover the document, but I still cannot resolve the modified links problem, since the application hangs up every time I try to update the links in the links pallet. Same with trying to just replace the link. I do have font errors mentioned for these links in the preflight panel that did not occur when working with this document in the previous version of InDesign.

InDesign 2022 crash when packaging
I just updated to InDesgin CC 17.0. I have a MacBook Pro 2020, with OS 10.15.7. Trying to package InDesign document with fonts included causes the application to hang up and I have to force quit it. When I tried to package without fonts included, it worked, and saved the links.

I need this function.

Images disappear from the screen when effect (FX) is used elsewhere on document
Photoshop tifs, Illustrator EPS and ai files disappear and are not rendered when an FX is used on a font or Illustrator file. The moment I delete the item with the FX, the images reappear.

Just upgraded and the first file I open is duplicating lines and parts dissappear
Scrolling is impossible - I get duplicated lines and parts of the document page disappears. In order to correct I have to do command "0" and the problem clears, but the second I try to scroll to the next set of pages it does the same thing
