Image catalogue script only has Desktop as a folder option. InDesign 2023
When I've used this in previous editions, I was able to pick any folder on my computer. Now it only has Desktop as an option.

Crash on HTML export when notes contain hyperlinks, and messed up HTML
Steps to reproduce
1. Export the attached file starting with "B272" as HTML
2. BUG: ID crashes
3. EXPECTED: No crash
4. QUICK FIX: Remove all notes that contain hyperlinks
5. RESULT: No crash on exportNote: The reason for crashing is NOT that many of the URLs contain a colon in a non-standard place. You can enter any URL and it will still crash.
This problem happens with about 80% of files with links in endnotes. It will not happen when endnotes are converted to footnotes. 20% of the files do export without crashing, but the HTML of endnotes is often messed up.

Steps to reproduce
1. Export the attached file starting with "B617" as HTML
2. See the HTML of the endnote 18. The last sentence is repeated twice
3. See endnote 11. The <a> tag is not inside the "hyperlink" span, but appears at the very end, outside of the main "endnote-011" span.It could be that ID messes up HTML in endnotes, sometimes so badly that it crashes.
Using latest Indesign 18.0 on Macos Ventura 13.01 on M1 chip

Indesign crashes when pressing the hot keys for copy
Indesign 18.0 (Apple Silicon/Intel)
Mac OS Monterey Version 12.6
Macbook Pro (16 Inch, 2021)
Chip Apple M1 MaxBrand new Macbook Pro, brand new installation of Indesign. It crashes every time I press hotkeys for copy. When it re-opens it crashes again. Everything is delayed and slow when I reopen, so I save, close Indesign and re-open. I get a good 5-10 minute run and it crashes again. Crashed 10 times today.

Hyperlink url gets cut off
When creating a hyperlink by selecting text, the hyperlink gets cut off if the selection exceeds a certain number of characters – and the link ends up invalid.
Easy to reproduce, see attached video.

hand tool stuck after sleep
Almost always after computer screen sleep, InDesign is stuck with hand tool selected. Switching tool appears to work (changing in the panel), but cursor is still showing (and working) as the hand tool. Works after restarting Indesign. Sometimes it also resolves itself after a while, if I go working in other apps.
The problem has been present for several versions of both InDesign and macOS, so it's not a recently appeared problem.

InDesign 23 has screwed my comp.. Can't even open file explorer tabs. Lost access to all work
After attempting to export a PDF from InDesign with 'Full screen' opening, it crashed and closed InDesign and ever since I have no access to any of my files.
Everytime I try to open a folder (even ones that have nothing to do with Adobe CC or programs etc.) it just freezes and crashes. So now I can't access anything on my PC. I've uninstalled & reinstalled, reset preferences on boot, saved as idml and re-saved, reset the computer.. Nothing is working.
So not only am I unable to work today because of this (which means lost money) I imagine I'm also going to have to spend time, and possibly more money, fixing the issue myself. And quite frankly, when I pay this much for software, I expect more than a "I'm so sorry, that's just the way it is. You'll have to redo the work." response from the support team. Especially now it has gone beyond crashing in-program and I do not have access to important business documentation or anything else on my hard drive.

InCopy Templates opening new Document with unique assignments
This is for InCopy but it would be great to be able to save InCopy Templates that open a new Incopy document with NEW UNIQUE assignments. For example, this would allow you to make an InCopy Sign template that has locked down branding, etc but has editable text fields that can be populated by client and saved off as print pdfs for production. The client could then use the template over and over to create many signs.

Critical PDF Export Issue - InDesign 17.4
The font "Josefin Slab Thin" is "active", while it simultaneously errors that it can't find it, and continues trying to download the font in the background. I tried exporting the file on 2 different Adobe accounts and had the same issue with this font. Upon attempting to uninstall InDesign through the CC app, the "uninstall" button 'clicks' but does nothing. No loading button or anything.

Very slow screen response with Mac OS Monterey
Since upgrading to an Apple Silicon Mac running Monterey OS with a Dell 4K screen, Indesign has become sluggish when scrolling through documents, especially those with placed images.
Also, if I highlight text and make a change to the formatting (make it Bold, for instance, or apply a different paragraph format) the change does not appear until I deselect the text. It will show up correctly before I deselect the text sometimes, but more often than not it doesn't.
InDesign version 18.0 with the latest updates.

Cannot open certain files
I recently installed InDesign 2023. Now I can't open a lot of files through DropBox. InDesign simply does nothing (no error code or spinning wheel, etc., just... nothing). So far the only fix is to download it to my hard drive, but since these are team documents that isn't a good solution. Help?

Changing the width of a line changes its y position
No object styles are applied in this example.
Expectation: When adjusting the length of a line, it's position should remain unchanged.
What happens:
When I adjust the length of a stroked line by entering a new width in the Length property, its Y position decreases by 0.5pt/equivalent.
When I adjust the x position by nudging with the Right or Left Arrow key, both the y position decreases by 0.5pt.
If the stroked line is grouped and aligned to other objects, the y position of the line decreases by 0.5pt regardless of its position/alignment within the group.
Adjusting the line weight causes y position movement also.Currently using InDesign 17.4 on macOS Ventura but this has been my experience with earlier versions since around 2021, and updating the OS has had no effect.
No object styles are applied in this example.

Table Fault
Please, please, resolve this.
- Indesign version 18 (2023)
- Issue: Create a two column text frame, or as many you want, and fill with text. For illustration purposes, create a table in the middle of the text frame. Span the table across both columns. Exaggerate the table spacing, to 25 pts before and after.
- Expected Result: The text in both columns of the text frame, in accordance with the table spacing, should be (i) equal on both sides of the two columns (ii) the text flow before the table should stop, and the text should continue again after the table. The table should span across all columns and have the option to span across in table options.
- Actual: The table spacing is applied on the left side of the text frame but not the right. The text in the right column overwrites the table.
- File is uploaded and a screenshot is uploaded.
- The workaround does work either. It places in text the middle of column A into column B. It is not right

Windows Warning Beep
UPDATE: I've narrowed down the problem to the Exclamation Program Event in Windows Sound. With that set to (None), the beeping no longer occurs.
When I go into inDesign, I go to any window and I hear Windows warning beeps non-stop, like I'm doing something inDesign doesn't like. If I go into Pages or Layers, they cause no issue. If I go into Preferences or Margins and Columns, then I get the beeping.
I am using Windows 10 with the latest updates.
I haven't used inDesign within the last few months, and it wasn't do it then. I used the alt+ctrl+shift Preference Reset. Didn't work. I uninstalled and reinstalled. Same problem. I turned off Windows Sounds, and the problem goes away. Turned it back on, the problem returns.I checked Photoshop and Lightroom Classic, and there is no problem there. I tried turning off some processes in my computer, same problem. I went to Computer Management > Event Viewer > Application and got:

V.18 has to be the buggiest version of ID ever released, and I used Pagemaker before I used ID... Any file I've worked on leaves the graphic slightly visible when I move it, flashing in and out of view. People must be having seizures over this. It also happens with type. If I delete type, and then click off the text box, the text box flashes the old type back where it was for a fraction of a second, complete with rewrap, and it all takes time for things that ought to be mindless. I can't figure out how to turn that off. There seems to be no preference to turn this feature off, this feature that never existed before.

Pasting Word tracked changes text keeps the old text as well as changes
When 'Text Only' is selected in Preferences/Clipboard Handling, pasting from a Word doc that has tracked changes results in the old edits (such as deletions) being retained in the pasted text in InDesign.
If this isn't a bug, perhaps there's a way to make these ramifications more obvious to the user.

UK spell check not recognising US spellings as incorrect
UK spell check not recognising US spellings as incorrect.
e.g the word 'customize' appears in the story. In UK English this would be 'customise'. The spell checker should recognise this as incorrect, but does not.
Spell check language has been set to UK English.

distribute
document.distribute() doesn't allow aligning of pages.
doc.distribute (doc.pages.everyItem(), DistributeOptions.HORIZONTAL_SPACE, true, 0)
RESULT:
Error: Invalid value of parameter "alignDistributeItems" of method "distribute". Expected array of PageItems, but received (Page,Page,Page).Expected: I can align pages in the UI via Align panel so I expect I can do the same in scripting.

Chaparral Pro not loading
InDesign 2023 18.0 x64
If I go to fonts.adobe.com and activate Chaparral Pro, when I go back to InDesign, the font is not loaded.I tried restarting InDesign, the Computer, everything.
