Typing over selected numbers doesn't work the first time in ID v 19.2
ID v 19.2 won't let my team type over a selected number the first time we try, we have to press the number on our keyboard a couple of times for it to update. In previous versions of ID we didn't have to press a number on our keyboard twice for it to type over a selection.

Edit Hyperlink allows pasting newlines
The hyperlink editor only supports single line editing, but if you paste a URL with a preceding lewline character, the editor keeps the new line. This makes the error non-obvious to the user. It is also impossible to remove the newline in the editor because it is a single-line editor, so it does not recognize that the newline is there. Since newlines are not allowed in URLs and in fact break them, my suggestion is to strip newline characters from URLs when pasted.

Color tags for pages in the Pages palette do not shift when page order changes automatically
Color tags for pages in the Pages palette do not shift when the page order is changed due to changes in the text flow. Changes in text flow can add or remove a page automatically. A certain headline, for instance, then can move from page 19 to page 20. I wanted to tag the page that holds this headline. When text flow adds a page, the headline is moved from page 19 to page 20, but the color tag is still shown for page 19. It is not “linked” to the page content.
This behavior is different from adding or deleting a page manually. When I try to open a window using the help search bar, the screen freezes.

glitch

My indseign starts glitching as soon as I move a picture or make a frame. It goes half black or fully purple and blue. Its impossible for me to figure out how to fix it. I've tried restarting the app. But that doesn't matter. I don't have any problems with the other apps.1 vote -

in design 2024: Master pager transparency incorrectly exported on publish online
I have a same master page (G), applied to several pages. When I publish online, some of them are ok, and others are not working on transparency texts.

Indesign Auto-Save No Longer Included in App

Running MacOS Sonoma Version 14.3.1Apparently there was previously an option in InDesign which auto-saves your documents as you go (with options in Preferences to specify how often you wished the app to auto-save the active document from 1 to 60 minutes). This feature is similar to what Adobe Premiere Pro app has -- even while saving via the "Save As" feature (which overwrites a previous version with the same file name), the auto-save application feature saves the document as you work with it, so that you can go back to previously saved versions to retrieve a version which which predates any lost data, or newly created errors that were saved as overwritten versions to the working document.
My example: I mistakenly "Placed" a PDF document within a page's main text box (instead of Placing it on the following page). It replaced all of the extensive text on that page with this PDF image. Not having realized that (as I was looking at the second page where I also placed the PDF correctly) I "Saved As" the file, which permanently deleted / overwrote all the text I'd spent an hour or more writing and formatting. Thus, there was no Auto-Saved version that predated my error.
It's necessary to re-add this Auto-Save feature to InDesign (as it used to exist) so we can retrieve lost data due to the issue described.

Setting defaults for anchored objects doesn't work
I'd really like to be able to set defaults for how an anchored object attaches to the text when I drag to anchor it. Right now it attaches from the bottom right. I'd like to be able to set that to fit my needs.

version 19.2 x64. The version update lost my language setting (English-Hebrew).
The English-Hebrew setting was lost during the last few updates, which removed the ability to create bullets with a hanging indent. A minus value in the first line indent always led to an error. It was solved by uninstalling and re-installing, which then gave me the text direction options again. So a workaround is possible, but it must be done every time I update.

Text frame options (Ctrl B) doesnt open since 3 days. Indesign freeze. And the Windows desktop background dissapears somtimes. I use this funtion for every project. So I don't know what to do now?

Items jumping to front
My team are currently having a glitch where items that have been sent to back are jumping back to the front even if the item is locked. There doesn't seem to be a pattern to this as this is happening while working elsewhere in the documents and if often only noticed once it has been PDFd. It is effecting images/text boxes and solid shapes.

Graphic was exported and printed as gray "fast display" placeholder
I exported a book and checked that with preflight for missing linked images and correct printing resolutions. everything came back ok. however one picture was not correctly linked and exported as the gray placeholder usually seen when "fast display" is enabled.
Apparently, the resolution of the gray placeholder is high enough as not to trigger the "too low res"-preflight setting of the printer. They did flag a different picture, which i replaced, but this square was undetected.
The image was "corrected" by relinking it, even though the linked path was correct and it did not show up in the linkpanel as faulty/missing.
I can't recreate the issue, so i don't know why the picture (even though it was linked correctly) did not show up or trigger any preflight settings.

Chapter number variable doesnt change
I tried to make the chapter numbers automatic in each chapter, but it doesn't change; it just says "1" in all chapters.

cant drag object
In the middle of working on a document and suddenly can't drag or duplicate objects (alt - drag).
Indesign is fully up to date. Windows 11.
I am so freaking sick of all of these bugs. I pay enough for these programs to not cause me so much wasted time. I'm so done. Anyone have a good alternative to Adobe that they like?
I see some old posts about people having this issue with Photoshop open. I do not have Photoshop open and haven't used it all day.
