The lists of entries for a cross reference is not ordered
Some panels with items (e.g. links) can be ordered by clicking the column header. Others cannot. Among these are the lists of references to choose from when inserting a cross-reference. These seem to be totally unordered. As a result, it is a pain to look for the right one (e.g. choose from a few hundred in a large document). I consider this a bug because other panels do have this ordering

Colour picker turns everything to blank with strokes, applies stroke
Colour picker is broken. Everything is checked, but when I use it, it turns the object picked from into blank with black stroke. When applied, it adds a black stroke. This is true of text, objects, and links. Deleting local settings changed nothing.

Profiles equal to the Output-Intend get lost on PDF-Export
When exporting a PDF all profiles equal to the Output-Intend (which in my case is the Document-Colorspace PSO Coated V3) get lost when exporting.
I have created a small test-file with an PSO Coated V3 Image and an ISO Coated V2 Image.
When Exporting as PDF X4 with Output-Intend Set to PSO Coated V3 the Image that IS PSO Coated V3 looses its profile and the same for the ISO Coated V2 when the Output-Intend is set to that.
This is horrible for Colormanagement. I've been in contact with "Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG" and they suggested to report this to Adobe as a bug.
They way it is you can not differenciate between images that don't have a profile and images that already have the correct profile. As a result all images get converted again in prepress - even those that already are in the correct profile.
If you have any further questions feel free to ask and i'll help out as good as i can :)
Thanks!

Missing color in PDF from InDesign
I have an InDesign file with a placed PSD file in it, which contains two spot colors. When I save the file as a PDF out of InDesign, only one of the two spot channels is visible.
I'm running the latest versions of InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat. To reproduce, open the attached InDesign file and save as a PDF. The resulting PDF should show a yellow and blue spot, but only the blue is visible. (The PDF generated during packaging also exhibits the problem.)

Getting More Out of Your 3.0 TDI Without Compromising Reliability
Owning a 3.0 TDI is about more than fuel economy. These engines are known for their strong torque and relaxed performance, making them enjoyable on daily commutes and longer journeys. Still, many owners eventually wonder whether a few carefully chosen upgrades could make their cars even better. The smartest approach is to start with proper maintenance, check the condition of key components, and identify what you want to improve. For drivers exploring platform-specific solutions, https://sustdi.com/ focuses on developing new parts for 3.0 TDI platforms, offering an interesting starting point for further research. Before purchasing anything, check compatibility, installation requirements, and potential effects on reliability. A sensible upgrade should complement the engine rather than create unnecessary complications. With the right preparation, you can build a setup that suits your driving style and keeps the car enjoyable for years to come.

utf8
The 21.5 patch that allows Data Merge to read UTF8 encoding is welcome, but seems to have created a problem with directional single/double quotation marks from non-UTF CSVs. After merge, these appear as missing characters. The issue seems to be that ID is reading the ASCII code as a Unicode decimal code: the missing characters are Unicode decimal 145/146/147/148 - but these are the ASCII codes for the relevant characters, not Unicode.

The nonbreaking hyphen is missing in InDesign after flowing the DOCX file
Hi All,
In my input Word (DOCX) file, several nonbreaking hyphens are used. However, when I flow the DOCX file into InDesign 2026, all nonbreaking hyphens are dropped.
This issue has been reported to Adobe by several users over the years, but there has been no fix or response from Adobe so far.

Publish Online unacceptable result
Used InDesign's (2026) Publish Online function for a simple, 1-page flyer, horizontal ("landscape") layout.
Result OK—EXCEPT there's a vertical BOX (gray outline) visible right up the middle of the piece, bisecting the 2 sides of it.I had Saved & Exported the item successfully; my PDFs don't show this box. Screen Mode is set to Preview, so there are NO visible guides of any sort in the InDes doc.
Is there any way to get rid of that weird box rule? a setting I need to change within InDesign?
Thanks!

Best free tool I've found for accurate translations lately
Been dealing with a lot of translation work recently and wanted to share something that's actually been really helpful. I tried a bunch of different tools before landing on https://www.deepl.com/uk/translator , the accuracy is honestly way better than most alternatives I've used, especially with context and tone. It's free to use for basic translations too. Anyone else here have tools they swear by for this kind of thing? Always curious what's working for other people.

Pathfinder issues
Pathfinder actions are not working in InDesign like they used to. If I subtract two shapes, it was sometimes adding in extra points rather than truly subtracting the shape.
And when I do get it to work properly, it is still one uneditable shape rather than multiple pieces that I can adjust, change color, etc. If I bring it into Illustrator, then I can ungroup the shapes and tweak individually as needed.1 vote -
InDesign freezing
My InDesign is constantly freezing and becoming unresponsive, making it impossible to work properly. The application frequently stops responding to commands, and I have to wait for it to recover or force it to close. This issue is happening repeatedly and is significantly affecting my workflow and productivity. I would like Adobe to investigate the cause of these crashes/freezes and provide a solution.

PDF conversion: why do paragraphs get put in separate text frames?
When opening a PDF to edit in InDesign, even a moderately complex document is unusable, because each separate block of text is placed in a separate text frame. Prose works OK, I think, though the frames aren't threaded, but poetry is completely unworkable. See screenshot for an example. Please increase the intelligence of the conversion so that it runs text that is obviously a single piece of text into a single text frame.
