installed font missing InDesign 17.2 macOS 12.3 (Monterey) and macOS Catalina
Different clients have the same problem. Installed fonts on the system are not recognised by InDesign 17.2. Other Adobe applications recognise the font and it can be used in those applications. I can recreate the problem, my colleague not. After downgrading InDesign to version 17.01 everything works fine.
We've just released InDesign 17.2.1 version which addresses this issue.
Please update to this latest version using Creative Cloud Desktop application.
In case the fix does not work immediately for you, please try the following:
1) Quit InDesign.
2) Delete the following:
on Mac:
/Users/[yourname]/Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign
/Users/[yourname]/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign
on Win:
C:\Users\[yourname]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\InDesign
C:\Users\[yourname]\AppData\Local\Adobe\InDesign
Relaunch InDesign & see if it works properly now.

Same problem also occurs on macOS Big Sur. Another day, another InDesign bug introduced by an update. Incidentally it also refuses to see the same fonts if they are in the Document Fonts folder of a package.

Do we really need to use a separate account to post a bug to you people? And do we really need to vote to fix another Adobe *****-up?
Bugs are reported, you fix them. Particularly when it is a locked-in service like Adobe Type.

This is making me crazy. A font I use extensively for a particular project works in Illustrator but not InDesign 17.2 on macOs Monterey... I hope this is fixed ASAP, because the workaround (create text frames in AI with the font, outline text, place in InDesign) is slowing down my workflow.

3 computers with Windows 10, Version 21H2, OS build 19044.1645, InD 17.2 were unable to see the Symbol Std font. Reverting one of them back to 17.0.1 fixed the problem right away, didn't even have to re-install the font.

I'm writing on behalf of Dalton Maag to underline that this bug is a major issue that is affecting a growing number of clients. Thanks in advance for looking into it urgently.
This forum highlights some workarounds that others have found, and which we have also tried on our end but to no avail: https://forum.glyphsapp.com/t/indesign-v17-2-and-gravecomb/22131/19

I was able to resolve the problem by closing out of all Adobe products, doing a search for all Adobefnt files, deleting them then reopen the programs. However, after I restarted over the weekend, I had the same problem. Now when I search for Adobefnt files, no files come up in my search. Because the font FF DIN OT doesn't show up and it is our corporate font, I have several files that needed to be converted when I downgraded back to 17.1. Strange things are happening to the files once opened in 17.1. For instance, the items on my pages are no longer in the same place as the master page. They should still be linked but they moved. So now I have multiple layers of issues. Is a fix coming out soon?

I tried to uninstall InDesign 17.2 and do a gradual upgrade with no luck. I can no longer use Symbols or Zapf Dingbats. Symbols is so important in working on a medical publication. True Type Fonts are no longer being recognized in InDesign. Adobe needs to realize that Symbol and Zapf Dingbats are system fonts and cannot be removed from the Mac. I truly hope this can be resolved soon. Thank you Adobe Team!

Hello, I'm having the same problem. The police Enzo doesn't work with indesign software. Only with photoshop. This is a real problem because all my documents use the enzo font. I tried everything: enable/disable, download the MONTEREY OS version. Nothing works. please help

I'm having the same issue. Here you can see the font Outfit is available instantly after installation in Photoshop, but not in InDesign.
(Windows 10 Pro 21H2 OS build 19044.1620 with InDesign v. 17.2 x64.)

Same issue in windows here, but only on one of two identical workstations. Downgrading to 17.1 did not fix it.
UPDATE: Downgrading further to 17.01 seems to have done the trick. I'm not happy about being a beta tester. It's amazing what makes it through to the release channel.
