We've just released InDesign 17.2.1 version which addresses this issue.
Please update to this latest version using Creative Cloud Desktop application.
In case the fix does not work immediately for you, please try the following:
1) Quit InDesign.
2) Delete the following:
on Mac:
/Users/[yourname]/Library/Caches/Adobe InDesign
/Users/[yourname]/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign
on Win:
C:\Users\[yourname]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\InDesign
C:\Users\[yourname]\AppData\Local\Adobe\InDesign
Relaunch InDesign & see if it works properly now.

An error occurred while saving the comment Kayla commented100% agree with this, I never even use the Table function in indesign because I always end up incredibly frustrated - I just create individual text boxes for each cell, which is very time consuming but at the very least allows me to drag the whole table to resize it. I don't understand why that, at the very least, isn't how the Table function works - what is even the point of being able to select the whole table if dragging it does nothing but create a bunch of blank space or hide content? It makes NO sense to me.
