AdobeFnt.lst automatically reappears after deleting
InDesign version: 15.0.2
Suddenly (after the latest March 2020 InDesign update?) the AdobeFont.lst file created with InDesign packages automatically shows up with folder structure after deleting a package. This is really aggravating for file management. It's as if my team can't fully delete InDesign packages. This is happening with multiple InDesign files on multiple machines.
As confirmed by multiple users, this issue is fixed in latest version of InDesign.
Thanks for your feedback.

As a daily InDesign user I must have lost many hours because of this bug. It has the potential to cause major upset if overwriting a file.

The fix for this issue is now available in the latest Beta build of InDesign – InDesign 15.0.3
Please download the latest beta build from the Download section of InDesign Prerelease portal to test this.1. Go to adobeprerelease.com
2. Log in with your Adobe Id.
3. Once logged in, search for “InDesign CC Prerelease” program in the list.
4. Click on the program to join the same.
5. You can download the latest available build (15.0.3.416) from “Builds and Plugins” section on the page.
6. The steps for installing the build can be found in the release notes. -

I'm having this issue as well, ridiculously annoying. At first I thought I was crazy and forgot to delete things. It happens MULTIPLE TIMES for the same damn file. I've deleted a reappearing folder 5x already for the same damn .indd file I moved days ago. Does Adobe even actively use/test these builds before releasing?! For many of us with company computers, we cant jump through hoops and install a beta build without special IT admin access.
ALSO, this is happening with a zip package I downloaded, not one created myself with Indesign.

This is so annoying and confusing when trying to manage and categorize projects. After packaging a doc. then moving it to my 'Work In Progress" folder, every time I open that doc or any exports within the folder I get a new folder with the same name on my desktop. Please fix

Morning, the below resolves the issue for a while but it will start to happen again over time.
Restore all preferences and default settings
(Windows) Start InDesign, and then press Shift+Ctrl+Alt. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.
(Mac OS) While pressing Shift+Option+Command+Control, start InDesign. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.
It worked for me.

This has added 2 hours to my workday waiting for these useless files to upload to Egnyte server. I am not even using the Adobe font kit.

Same problem, packaged folder with "Document fonts" folder only inside duplicates to desktop with the AdobeFnt21.lst file in it. VERY annoying! Now the folder doesn't just come back as one copy...I get 5 of them.
Admin says a fix is available, but adobeprerelease.com doesn't load...nothing is at that URL.

Well, that's a shame.
After a long wait we have an update to InDesign this morning, but a quick test reveals that the phantom folders containing an AdobeFnt.lst are still appearing after a file is packaged. This is a bit disappointing, so let's hope that today's update is an interim that addresses other issues and that the main update mentioned in the post about the Beta is still coming.

Packaging a file for print keeps creating a phantom folder that reappears and can't be deleted.

Has there been a Fix to this bug yet? I can't find one and the issue is annoying and dangerous. I'm constantly having to trash incomplete duplicate job folders that appear on my desktop or within other folders I'm working in. As Herman states above, the issue occurs when I'm working in an InDeisgn file and either package or save.
Quitting and restarting InDesign does not fix the issue. -
