1. Missing Glyphs on PDF export in InDesign v17.0

   using the google font Signika, quotation marks and colons give me a missing glyph upon export to pdf. When using v16.4, this is not an issue.

2. Separation preview ink percentages wrong

   I just upgraded to the 2022 (v17) version of InDesign, and my separations preview percentages are blatantly wrong (e.g. what should have 200% ink coverage was showing up as 0% for every swatch). Even when it gave believable percentages of ink coverage, it still lagged significantly behind the 2021 (v16.4) version. My coworkers had the same issue, but when we reverted back to the prior version, we had no trouble.

3. Unable to place text in frame over an existing text frame

   When making a new frame on top of an existing text frame. It is not possible to make the new frame a text frame. It clicks right through it.
   This has been a bug for many years now, and i have to explain almost every week to my students.

   Also in the 2022 version of InDesign.
   I hoped it to be solved. but no..

5. New problem when creating new Book

   Since latest update creating a new book asks to save each added document and replace each document being added. Add 5o documents and you have to hit save, then hit replace for every one of them before the book is created!

6. User Interface got large

   The User interface got large and many commands in the control bar have been hidden even if I set it on Small in the preferences!
   I can't get the small interface that was in the previous version.

   Did you open Preferences > User Interface Scaling and try to change the slider?
   You’d need to restart InDesign to see the changes.

7. Alt text missing on hyperlinks after "Export as Interactive PDF"

   I work primarily in InDesign and create accessible PDFs. During the design stage, I always add the alt text when creating hyperlinks or adding images, and export it as an interactive PDF.

   As we know, after updating beyond InDesign version 16.1, the hyperlink alt text will not appear on the Link tag, but instead, it appears on the "Link - OBJR" (aka "Annotation") tag within the Link tag.

   I work on long reports that usually have hundreds of hyperlinks and this is a big and very time-consuming problem for me, so I reverted back to v 16.1.

   I've been ignoring the past several updates for InDesign, but my CC updated it to v 17 and v 16.1 is no longer available.

   Is there an acceptable solution or workaround?

   Can this be fixed in a future InDesign version???

12. Indesign 2022 closes randomly

13. Type tool still lags when hitting the (T) shortcut key

    Hi, the type key short cut bug seems to have been fixed but when you hit the shortcut to bring up the type tool it is still very laggy. Any thought on this?

    When disabling character in the settings it is instant. But i don't want to keep having to do this.

14. pinwheel

    InDesign versions 15.1.4, 16.4, and 17.0
    Mac, system Big Sur 11.6.1

    There are no steps or expected results other than stability and quick performance.

    No matter what I am doing—working with text or images, scrolling, working in menus, etc.—I am experiencing the rainbow pinwheel and delays of 30 seconds to a few minutes while the application is hung up. This is happening every couple minutes. Work that should take 15 minutes is taking 30 or more.

    I've tried disabling the preflight, changed the display performance to typical, allowed greeking, etc., but nothing has helped. I first experienced this in version 16.4 last Friday, upgraded to 17.0 on Tuesday, and also tried using version 15.1.4, but I am experiencing the same problems in all three versions.

15. Can not save or export in MacOS Montery

    1. version 17.0, apple M1 (also rosetta) MacOS Montery
    2. Click File, then click Save, Save As or Export
    3. A window pops up to save or export
    4. Nothing shows..
    5. nothing to show....

    I can work on my files, but can not save, save as or export anything.

16. RGB to CMYK

    Make it easier to switch between CMYK and RGB. I'm currently in RGB and have no idea how to get back to CMYK.

    My document says that I am in CMYK but when I go to edit colours or use the colour tab at all, everything is in RGB.

17. Crash

    InDesign 17 keeps crashing. The program simply closes without an error message. It is not possible to work with the version. I reinstalled the old version

    Display Artefacts horizontal lines and placed image distortions when scrolling/editing documents.
    UI set to small and zoomed to 135% on the spread.
    A simple graphic.jpg is placed on the master/parent assigned to the page.
    sRGB colour management used in the document.
    Screen resolution 3840x2400px.
