1. Opening a document now causes lag for about 30 seconds, where I have no control

   2. Steps to reproduce the issues: a. Open document from the Mac Finder. (This lag happens whether I start with InDesign open or closed. b. I have zero control of anything while a progress indicator spins for about 30 seconds. c. A font error dialog pops up, and then I can finally control InDesign, starting by dismissing that dialog. Expected result: I expect instant control of InDesign, since my computer isn't that old and it's a pro model. Actual result: Slowness, lag - way too much, considering most of my documents are 8 pages long with maybe 30 or so links to placed graphics... The test file I'm attaching has a bunch of master pages and a bunch of embedded graphics, but the thing is, it used to be that there was no lag with this document... Now there's lag. That's an issue. 2. Bug: overwriting embedded objects with not embedded ones keeps them imbedded

   Indesign CC 2022, v17.
   Steps to reproduce :
   1. open two documents which have the same linked file (image) embedded
   2. edit the image outside of ID.
   3. relink the file in one of two documents, so it becomes unembedded
   4. copy the unembedded file to the other document, overwriting the same, but still embedded object/image.

   Exprect result: the object in the target document should not be embedded anymore and it should be up-to-date.

   What happens: depending on how the files is placed (inside a table cell or not) ID will only mark it as "it has been changed" by the yellow triangle or overwrite, but keep it embedded. If it shows the yellow triangle and since it's considered as embedded by ID, it cannot be updated (update button locked), which keeps the yellow triangle showing and overlaying the symbol for embedded objects so you don't know whether it's still embedded or not, until you right-click and find the "Unembed file" option.

   Note: this doesn't happen in 14.0.3.

   Indesign CC 2022, v17.

3. InDesign 2021 PDF saving & exporting before settings can be applied

   Running InDesign 2021 16.4.0.54
   When connected to the 3rd party plugin, Agility I can export 1, sometimes 2, files the way I want, i.e. pg. 84 then all pages on another file. After that once I choose save location, the file immediately exports & is usually done by the time the export dialog box comes up. So if I want pg. 50, it's still looking for pg. 84 so it does all pages. Or it'll do all pages if that's what was done beforehand. I can't change any export settings, even if I do & click export they are not applied the next export. Happening on 3 different Macs, but not the boss' Mac.
   Expected result: change export settings as needed through different files
   Actual Result: Either this plugin or having a plugin in general is causing InDesign to save & export files before I'm ready.

   Running InDesign 2021 16.4.0.54

4. lose keyboard shortcuts

   InDesign 17.1 on 2019 MBP, Catalina 10.15.7
   All of the keyboard shortcuts involving the "command" key stop working (command + spacebar, command + shift, etc.). This usually happens after leaving the app open for a long time (during a long call, lunchtime, etc.) and they don't work again until the computer is restarted.

5. Direct PDF-Export in Data merge copies "page-1-text" to all other pages

   In the linked video you can see a bug in Indesign 17.1 x64 on Windows 10.
   Data Merge offers two ways to output pages. You can generate a merged Indesign-Document (works) and you can directly export to PDF.
   The direct PDF-export doesn't work for me, because texts from page 1 get copied to all other pages instead of using each pages text.
   The video shows the comparison between both methods and i just don't see a reason for what is happening.

6. Anchored headings on even pages appear out of order in generated tables of contents

   Using InDesign v17.1 on MacOS 12.2.1. On a 50 page document with facing pages, using custom positioned anchored level 2 headings that appear to the left of paragraphs and are aligned at the left side of the text frame. When generating a table of contents, the anchored headings on even pages appear before their corresponding level 1 headings. I've moved the anchored objects slightly inside the frame and changed the left margin but problem persists. When pushing this same text to an odd page and regenerate the TOC, the problem is fixed.

   The navigation bar at the bottom of the screen is visible as soon as we hit a key.
   It is a bit annoying when you use this tool to make a presentation..

8. Pasting forced line breaks instead of end paragraphs (InDesign)

   When pasting data from Excel, each row comes in with a Forced Line Break marker at the end, instead of an End Paragraph marker. This is a recent change within Indesign, as you used to be able to paste from excel into a table in Indesign, maintaining the proper rows and columns. Now when you paste in the same information, it doesn't recognize the end paragraph, and tries to put all the data in one row.

   The same issue has been found when pasting text from Microsoft Word into Indesign - instead of End Paragraph markers, you get forced line breaks. This is a nightmare when trying to manage intricate text and utilize various style features.

9. Poor GPU Performance

   With the GPU enabled, InDesign is very slow. (everything is slow, even typing text is very long...)
   On previous versions I did not encounter this problem.
   If I disable GPU acceleration, and use the CPU instead, InDesign is a bit faster.

   I use inDesign 17.1 / MacOS Monterey 12.2.1
   on a Macbook pro 15" 2015 (Intel Core i7 2.8Ghz + RAM 16Go + GPU : AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2 Go)
   The Mac is connected to a 4K display

10. Share for Review / Hyperlinks not working

    Hyperlinks are not working on Share for review, using image, text or even buttons. They work fine if you export the document as Interactive PDF. Already tried to delete the review and upload a new version, but nothing seems to work.

    Does anyone else have this issue?

14. Horizontal lines appear on a regular basis

    Horizontal lines appear on a regular basis. Very frustrating. They appear when I scroll up or down, generally when zoomed in. I have to clear them with 'Hide Guides' keys (Command, semicolon key).

    Also, the 'Hide Guide’ feature is flaky when using the short cut command. The guides will not remain in the 'Show Guide'I mode. I then have to use the menu to activate.

15. Bug: Table/cell styles don't define cell height and character format

    Indesign CC 2020, v17.1

    The dialog to create a new cell style doesn't have a definition for the cell height (value "At least" / "Exactly") like we find it in the table properties panel. Table styles also don't define cell height and that is all we can use. If you adjust the cell height manually and redefine the cell style, it's also not submitted. So there is no chance to format an entire table just by selecting a table style.

    Next is characters. If there is supposed to be text in a table, that text gotta have a style. Since we want to be able to define different styles for the header row(s) and body, the styles would be nested. Means, a cell style defines the style of the cell, but also of the text by using a character style.

    So, while a table style can define how the different cells shall be filled/stroked it can only format half of the table. Why? Why not make it complete?

    I have issues with basic tasks in InDesign. I ordered a new MacBook Pro 16, M11 Pro, 16GB Ram, 1TB SSD
    And just scrolling around in InDesign gave me the rolling spin.

    After updating to the newest indd Version and newest MacOs Version it did get better with small files, and moving a textbox worked finally.
    But working with a bigger magazine file with 50 pages is not doable.

    I ordered a second m1 pro (same config) as thinking it might be a Hardware Issue. Same result.
    I made a clean wipe of MacOs, only installed CC and Indd (and OneDrive for the files) and still same issue.

    Turning GPU OFF or ON did not change a thing.

    My old intel Windows with 6700HQ and 20GB Ram is working better in the same file.

    Btw. Photoshop worked perfectly fine and is waaay faster as the Win Laptop, as it is supposed to be.

17. InDesign window in fullscreen after escaping presentation mode

    InDesign version 17.1
    When entering presentation mode (shift+w), and then escape, InDesign windows becomes fullscreen.
    It would be great to get back to same size and position.

18. InDesign publish online broken links and missing objects

    Have major problem with publish online, missing objects and links with question marks showing. This comes after 8 months working on this document with no issues at all. Really need this sorting by Adobe as I have to deliver project at end of this month latest.

    The fix has been deployed on the Production.

19. publish online failure

    When publishing online, objects appear missing, indesign drawn objects, text, placed svgs, etc. Shows a question mark where the object should be
    I'm using latest InDesign CC, have scanned computer for virus/malware, reinstalled Indesign, with no resolution of problem which started on 3rd March. Previous to this I've been using for 8 months with no problems Publishing Online whatsoever, been totally rock-steady.
