Graphics glitches galore on M1 MacBook Air + external 4K monitor
InDesign 17 on an M1 MacBook Air with Big Sur is barely usable with an external 4K monitor. There are graphic artifacts everywhere, especially near the margins/edge of boxes which makes it hard to know if anything is aligned properly. Everything looks okay on the laptop's built-in display but is distorted on the external.
Also, when scrolling, the screen updates sporadically and usually does the Windows 95-looking stuck window effect.
If I turn off the GPU it looks better when working statically but when scrolling it is even worse.

Font distortion in SVG files imported from Illustrator
InDesign version 18.1 has a bug when importing svg images made in Illustrator; the fonts used in the svg files are distorted.
When I had exported the svg files in Illustrator, I chose "save as" and SVG Options: Subsetting > "All Glyphs" to make sure the fonts remained accurate when placed in InDesign, and this has always worked until version 18.1. When I went back to version 18 and opened the file, the fonts were back to normal.1 vote -

Persistent graphics issues
There are STILL graphics problems in Indesign 17.2. Things disappearing off the screen that don't reappear unless you try and move them (zooming in and out doesn't work), streaks appearing across the screen.
I am so bored of the constant bugs in this app.

Font display issue with certain fonts in images from clipboard (18.1 x64)
We use a charting service called Macrobond, and copy images from that software to insert in InDesign. The following buggy behavior is observed:
When using certain fonts in the chart, the pasted image in InDesign displays those fonts in miniscule sizes. That does not happen with other fonts fonts.
I suspect the issue stems from different ways in which InDesign handles the various fonts based on whether they are included or third-party (or perhaps depending if they are installed locally on the PC or is fetched from the Adobe library).
In this example the first image shows a problematic chart…

'Search for Missing Links in this Folder' not working
InDesign is not finding other missing links in a folder. I have only Illustrator files stored I a folder titled 'Illustrator', which is a subfolder of another folder titled 'Content'. The Indesign file sits at the same level as this 'Content' folder.
There are over 100 Illustrator files in the folder, some with single artboards and some with multiple, and some are placed in multiple locations in the InDesign file.
InDesign as no problem finding other missing links in other folders (titled Photoshop, PDF) which sit at the same level as the Illustrator folder.

Display performance
after fighting with the display performance for a couple of days, I finally could preview it changing the settings in general settings. I haven't found any other solution for now but at least it works.

Changing the width of a line changes its y position
No object styles are applied in this example.
Expectation: When adjusting the length of a line, it's position should remain unchanged.
What happens:
When I adjust the length of a stroked line by entering a new width in the Length property, its Y position decreases by 0.5pt/equivalent.
When I adjust the x position by nudging with the Right or Left Arrow key, both the y position decreases by 0.5pt.
If the stroked line is grouped and aligned to other objects, the y position of the line decreases by 0.5pt regardless of its position/alignment within the group.
Adjusting the line weight…1 vote -
moved graphics still visible.
V.18 has to be the buggiest version of ID ever released, and I used Pagemaker before I used ID... Any file I've worked on leaves the graphic slightly visible when I move it, flashing in and out of view. People must be having seizures over this. It also happens with type. If I delete type, and then click off the text box, the text box flashes the old type back where it was for a fraction of a second, complete with rewrap, and it all takes time for things that ought to be mindless. I can't figure out how to…

Adobe Indesign 2023 (v18).
When render TIFF images from Blender using the Deflate (ZIP) option.
All other compression options gives images with black background and no transparency.
Up to v17 Indesign 2022 these images imported just fine.
When doing a resave in Photoshop with no changes, the images imports fine.1 voteFix for this issue is now available in the latest release of InDesign 2023 - that is, InDesign 18.1 version.

72 DPI images not placing at 100%, scaling to 216 DPI
This has apparently been a discussion since at least 2019 and has not yet found a solution:
When placing certain jpg images saved to 72 DPI, In Design frequently places them at 1/3 actual size, or down to 216 DPI. This is including if the ID document's increments/document size are set to pixels. It seems most common with jpgs saved in a standard "Save As" format from Photoshop vs. the legacy "Save for Web."
- Versions 14.02 to 17.1 - Edit - issue continues after update to 17.2.1.
- Steps to reproduce: place a jpg image saved to 72 dpi resolution

Massive Graphics Glitches
OSX 12.4
InDesign 17.3
2019 Retina 5K iMac 19,1 w/64 GB RAMThis issue seems to persist despite the most current updates. At first, I thought my video card was dying, but as it does not happen with any other product I feel it is strictly an InDesign issue.
This most often happens when I am close up working on a document. Sometimes I might nudge the view (either accidentally or on purpose) and the screen redraws with massive sections missing or rendering in bizarre geometric patterns. If I scroll away and come back... it's fine.
This appeared to be…

Linked Images Disappearing/ InDesign Files Opening as Read-Only
Good morning!
After my computer updated to Monterey 12.3.1, the linked images in InDesign files (indd) turn black or static or with colored stripes like bad reception on an old TV. The link panel did not show a broken link but I had to manually relink all the files. I've tried reinstalling InDesign and going back to an earlier version of InDesign. All to no avail.
A second problem that occurred is that InDesign files would only open as read only. When I tried to resave it said that someone had them checked out or I didn't have permissions to…

InDesign doesn't import files

So my issue is that InDesign doesn't allow me to import files, whether they are .jpg, .png or .eps, or else. I need to use a logo that I have in .png, but InDesign doesn't allow me to select my file to import.1 vote -
InDesign not updating placed AI files
Placed AI file does not update correctly. InDesign 17.3 and Illustrator 26.3.1 - An AI file is placed into InDesign initially with all layers set to "print" - then the file is updated in Illustrator by changing one or some layers to "not print" and saved. As expected, in Indesign the placed AI shows an alert icon over the graphic. When I select update, the AI still displays with ALL LAYERS still visible. To test what the issue may be, I placed the identical file next to the existing one. THAT file came in correctly - they are the exact…

Relinking incorrect files
Today's thing that is usefully broken on this terrible app is I can select a link from the links pallet, right click to relink it and Indesign will handily decide to relink a different linked file on the page forcing me to repeat the process. This is happening every now and again and not every time I relink files.
