1. [INDD 2020 and 2021] Document fonts folder does not work with fonts for placed SVGs

   Provide a font file with the Document fonts folder for a placed SVG graphic where the font is not embedded.
   RESULT: InDesign will not use the font for rendering text with the placed SVG graphic.

   ALSO: Even if the font is installed for ALL USERS in the system on Windows 10 InDesign will not package the font that is needed with the placed SVG graphic.

   One cannot be sure what fonts are needed with placed SVG graphics. When InDesign documents are saved, closed and re-opened, Preflight and Type > Find Fonts… will not show them.

   The only check you can do:
   Export the document to IDML. Open the IDML file as document.
   Then Preflight will show a needed font inside a placed SVG graphic and Preflight could flag it if it is missing.

   Well: The missing font installed in the Documents fonts folder could even block InDesign to access the same font that is installed for all users with:
   C:\WINDOWS\Fonts\

   To solve the issue you have to do THREE things:
   [1] Move the needed font for the placed SVG file out of the Document fonts folder
   [2] Install the font for ALL USERS
   [3] Quit and restart InDesign, only then open the document again. Otherwise you get a situation where the font could show as missing if it used in a text frame elsewhere in the document like [Lemon], but is rendered correctly in a text frame. 4. Linked PDF images not exporting to PDF correctly

   InDesign (16.2.1), Windows 10

   Logos saved as PDFs and placed in an InDesign file appear with a gray vertical line on the right side of the image frame when the file is converted to PDF. There is no stroke or fill on the image frame; further, I checked a PDF with the same PDF logo in it that I created a month ago and it did not have the line. The line appears when the PDF is printed.

   We found that reverting back to v16.1 resolved the issue. Also, relinking a JPG or TIF of the logo worked in 16.2.1, but obviously less efficient.

   InDesign (16.2.1), Windows 10

6. Image date merge

   Since InDesign 16.4 the image data merge won't work. The images are not displayed on the screen and not in 'links'.

8. Premier Pro style file linking

   I recently had the joy of relinking a project I was working on in Premier Pro. Right click, "Link Media...", the gui opens, I click "locate", hit "search" and hey presto! The experience is blissful.

   Please do this everywhere! Especially in InPhosTrator.

9. Weird Bug with Resize to Frame

   Resize frame to content messes up and I'm not sure if it's something to do with a setting I have set since this doesn't always happen.

   Basically, I'll have a frame around some content with text in it.

   When I hit "resize frame to content" ctrl-alt-c, it resizes the frame to the full document width, which looks like the example.

   I obviously expect the frame to resize to the content, not to be super wide like the entire document.

10. [INDD 2020 and 2021] Placed SVG InDesign ignores code dominant-baseline="hanging"

12. CC Libraries

    InDesign 16.1. CC Libraries gets stuck. I cannot select any pictures Editing is only possible again after a complete restart. After a while it gets stuck again.

13. bug: start/end line not clickable in Indesign

    Indesign 16.3.2, Apple Silicon M1 chip, MacBook Pro macOS Big Sur 11.5

    I've discovered a bug. When I try to click on the option to add a start or end to a line, the option disappears directly. So it's not possible to click on one of the options. Right now I can't add a arrow to the end of my line. I hope it will be fixed really soon!

15. New Bug Indesign 16.2.1 | Contours conversion error (inside/outside aligned)

    This bug seems to only affect older InDesign documents and graphic elements from them that were created before the update to 16.2.1. The bug can NOT be reproduced in completely new 16.2.1 documents with newly created elements!

    What happens:
    For example, if you create a circle with the dimensions 200X200mm and a 10mm thick outline, this results in a circle with the dimensions
    210X210mm

    But if you now change the contour orientation from center to inside, the dimensions change unproportionally in height:

    Instead of 200 x 200 mm the circle becomes quasi
    an "egg" 200 x 199.999 mm

    If you now set the contour to 8mm, the element becomes proportional again.
    However: if the contour orientation is now changed again from
    "Aligned inside" to "Aligned outside", a conversion error happens again.

    Instead of the dimensions 216 x 216 mm
    the dimensions are now 216 x 215.999 mm.

    In these cases, the dimensions cannot be corrected by direct input in the control palette or by clicking on the arrow keys!!!!!

    If you enter 216 mm via direct input, 215.999 mm stubbornly appears.
    If you click on the arrow keys, nothing happens in the height value! But if you change the width value now, if you have coupled the proportions (by means of the lock)
    from 216 mm
    to 216.001 mm
    and with each desperate click further 216.002 mm;
    and further. ...,003/...,004 !!!!

    Very very annoying!!!!!!!! We are the BORG! Resistance is futile!

    ATTENTION.
    This rounding error also occurs with proportional scaling with the selection tool and can be transported via copy and paste even into completely new created InDesign(16.2.1) documents. Great. Or!?

18. Edge smoothing in Indesign 16.3.2 creates lines where there should be none!

    No matter if e.g. black or dark frames with white "narrow - narrow" outline or areas that cover others, hairlines appear everywhere where there shouldn't be any.

    The only way to get rid of these lines is to disable edge smoothing completely. But then you have a pixelated view with the charm of the 80s. So this is not an alternative either!

20. Option + drag and shift to contstrain keys not working

    InDesign 16.0.2

    The usual function of holding the option key on mac and dragging an object to duplicate has stopped working. In the same way, clicking shift when moving an object or drawing a frame no longer constrains it's dimensions.

    Both of these features still work fine in Illustrator (25.1)

    The attached video show me trying to draw a square by holding shift when drawing a shape but it doesn't constrain the proportions as it should. It also shows me then trying to duplicate the shape by holding option (mac) and dragging. The cursor changes to suggest that it's working but the shape doesn't duplicate.

    This is a BIG problem for productivity as these functions are key to the way I work.
