Find/change table stroke
When using Find/Change and selecting the tab to search for object attributes it's possible to search for a specific stroke width, color etc. But it does not look for that in tables. So if you don't use table or cell formating you have to select and find those attributes by hand. Couldn't there be a tab for searching attributes in tables as well?

FULL SCREEN WORK MODE
Much needed is a full screen work mode, which will be the same as "Normal" mode, but will hide the window borders and menus.
Same thing as what happens in Photoshop when you hit F or in Lightroom when you hit ****+FThanks.

Allowing 2-automatic page numbers/per page.
I work on proposals and we are usually limited to the number of pages within the document. It is often stated, that when we use an 11x17 page, this page counts as two pages in the proposal. It would be an amazing new feature if you could set up the option to have an additional automatic page number for these cases. Perhaps you could have an option to insert a second automatic page number on the master, or a feature that skips a number, starting the next 8.5x11 spread on the proper page number after counting the 11x17 as 2 pages (4 pages for a spread). I've researched this, and I don't think there is currently a way to do this without it being done by hand. when working with hundreds of pages in a document, this gets to be exhausting to change. An automatic second page number feature would be SO helpful! :) Thank you for considering this!

Table numbering for multipage tables
Need to repeat table numbering on every page of very long tables.
The publisher requires this type of table layout. The last page of the table should begin with the line "End of Table 1.1", all pages, starting from the second and up to the penultimate page should begin with the line "Continuation of Table 1.1". Now we have to do this by inserting an additional text frame on each page with a long table or an additional master page, but in the case of moving tables, we have to spend a lot of extra time

Quick change of tables column width and row height
Please give us the ability to set column width and row height of a table in one step.
Today I only can change one table column after the other if I want different column width. The same is true for table rows if I want different row height as well.
With the script (AutoColumn) from Gerald Singelmann it’s possible to change at least all column width in one step. I didn’t found a script for row height till today.
I attached a video (AutoColumn.mov.zip) where I demo the script and perhaps this explains it a little bit better.
I attached the script (AutoColumn.jsx.zip) I used in the demo as well. This script saved me tons of hours of manual work.
It would be very helpful and time saving to have such a concept for tables in InDesign as a native feature!

Remember the view pages preference (alternate layout/vert/horiz) for documents
I go back and forth a lot working with documents with alternate layouts and those without. It would be helpful if the page view preference is saved along with the document instead of switching back and forth manually.

Spelling & Grammer included in Preflight Report
Would it be possible to enhance the prelight report features to include spelling & grammar checks so you could go through the report with page numbers references instead of having to click through each misspelt word individually .... for long documents this is a real problem as a lot of the instances of acronyms and named places currently get picked up which are not actually misspelt words ...
Currently, this can be achieved with purchase of plugin suite from Mindstream - http://www.mindsteam.com/products/mindsuitepro/index.html

Drag text to library and create a link
When I drag
n
drop a text to the library-panel there is is NO link betrween the textframe and the library-item.
I have to delet the textframe and drag´n´dop it back to the document to create a link.Is that smart?
I wish I could drag a text to the library and create a link in one step.

I enter a date i.e. through date picker, ID handles displayed output
I am running into the same problem for years: In program brochures spanning a whole year with 200+ events and multiple references throughout the brochure, clients provide wrong information (i. e. wrong day of the week for a specific date or a wrong year).
How about this: In a text frame or table cell, I could have a date picker or I´d write down every date in the same format, say like this: [DD.MM.YYYY] (since I am in Germany that would be my local format). Through magic/witch craft, InDesign would recognize the variable as a date and handle it according to my character-/paragraph-/or GREP-styles. InDesign would then generate the output: "Samstag, 25.02.17", or "SA 25", or "25. Februar 2017", or "02/25/17", or however I specify the date to be displayed in that table/paragraph/document.
Since in event calendars or program brochures nobody wants a wrong day of the week next to the date and since "day of the week" can be calculated, I think it´s a big win for everyone, right?

Properties Panel - missing "vertical justification"-buttons "top", "center", "bottom", "justify"
Indesign CC 2019 (oct)
The old control panel had buttons for the textframe options "vertical justification": "top", "center", "bottom", "justify". I need them accessible in the new properties panel ... one-click. I am too lazy for option-doubleclick or CTRL-b.
Thanks.

So a user can easily change a document's units without changing the application preferences. The way it is now is confusing4 votes -
Export of all opened documents
Please make it possible to export all opened InDesign documents at the same time. You can also use the same export defaults.

You can add font and swatches options to Buttons and Forms in the Interactive PDF section. Right now its too limiting.
stated clearly and simply above.

Relative paths to external files
My goal is to do all the layout and linking in indesign then do an export to a PDF with hyperlinks. The PDF and all the external linked files will then be distributed to other computers via USB-stick or CD.
The links has to be relative for this to work and I would like to have that option in the hyperlinks pod/panel or when doing a PDF (or HTML export).
I have been waiting 10 years for this feature - I cant understand why it has not been implemented searching the internet. it must be a clear usecase for indesign.4 votes -

Integrate InDesign ME with InDesign
I currently require occasional use of right-to-left text and therefore require InDesign ME. A major problem with the ME version, however, is that the help page defaults to Arabic. Since I’ve chosen English يدعم العربية as my language choice, one would think an English option would also be available, but no such luck. It really isn't clear to me why the ME version needs to be a separate product rather than simply integrating the right-left features directly into the regular version

Allow the cursor to change from black to red, or any colour in spectrum (colour blind)
Create a colour cursor option to change colour from black to red/green/blue/etc. I find extremely difficult to follow the black cursor in InDesign as it competes with the various Application Frames./dropdown menus.

Recent Files pane usability problems.
The Recents Pane has serious problems for InDesign Book users. There are two main problems:
- Not enough Recent files are listed.
The limited number of recent files results in ONE project taking over ALL the recent files every time you make an adjustment to the book, because EVERY CHAPTER becomes a recent file. In my books, there are often more chapters than allowed in Recents, so it's not even useful as a way to access chapters (which obviously is best done with the Book panel).
- There is no way to manage Recents.
Realistically, there is NO reason one would want to see all chapters in Recents just because a renumbering task was completed. It would be a nuisance, but after repaginating a Book, I would then immediately delete ALL the chapters listed in Recents. Of course, there are other files that might be opened briefly for trivial reasons, and which need not take up space in Recents.
Conclusion: The Recents facility is so lacking in usability features that it is more of an annoying distraction than anything helpful for accessing or managing work files.
I have discussed these problems before, but the FUNCTION of Recents doesn't seem to be of much interest to the UX people. Instead of allowing me to MANAGE the Recents, they come up with cute slogans to occupy valuable screen real estate. Why? Who wants to see "Create a Style" every session?
Most of InDesign is spectacularly functional. This cosmetic Recents concept is surprisingly useless and out of place for anyone who isn't a beginner.

Linked Docs: Seeing where the children of a linked item is from the parent document
File A is linked to B, C, D, and E (the children)
I want to see that information while looking at file A (the parent).Currently, we can only see the link path when the child is selected.
Example: I have used the content placer to link a block of text into 4 documents. I want to see which 4 documents that block of text is linked to while in the parent document. That way I can quickly navigate to those 4 documents rather than searching through hundreds to sync up any updates later.
